Nice to see no alarms for barbel there is no need for them
Love the music, and what a great channel, thanks Mark for the effort and work, all the best mate, hope to fish the river on Sunday.
Thanks Clive, tight lines
Thfact you put this up, and showing its not always a time when the fish are feeding so well done for that.
Sorry you lost that barbel but it happens to us all. Great to see nice shots of the river and scenery!
I had a Harrison rod break years ago while landing a fish…. The rod was about a year old at the time….. no quibble they changed the top section. It’s bad from Cadence, they should be exchanging the broken section or at least have it back to inspect it before making a decision. You always have the option of going back to the retailer and asking them to deal with it under the consumer rights act. You could always reach out to Des Taylor, he helped cadence to produce those rods for Barbel…. Keep up the great videos, good luck with sorting your broken rod….
Thanks Colin. Yep shocking from Cadence but you buy direct from them, so have no shop to fight your cause. As I said they didn’t even respond to the last 2 chasing emails, so impossible to resolve🤷🏼♂️
@@AnAverageAngler shameful from them. Looking at the break in your rod it looks like a clean. I would definitely keep on to them about it. Good luck
Wow, bit of a difference between Cadence and Shimano! Wife snapped one of her Shimano TX2s which were well out of warranty, I contacted Shimano and asked to buy a new top section - they replied that they don't sell the top sections separately, but they'd replace the whole rod for less than half the RRP of a new one!
I'm personally not a Shimano fan (particularly dislike their backward baitrunner selector) but have to admit that's decent customer service - especially compared to Cadence! :o
Agreed, I still can’t believe the arrogance of their attitude.
Cadence should replace the rod, Clearly you know what you doin.
Thanks Richard, they’ve been in touch saying they’ve seen the Vlog and can I contact them, so hopefully they’ll be a positive outcome, now.
@@AnAverageAngler I should think so , I bet when they saw all the views you've had on the video that put the wind up them, For the cost of replacing a section that could have cost them thousands in sales very silly, And all you were doing was fishing with it, Like you do with all your other rods,
Rod damage looks the likely reason 100% on the blank breaking.
Hi Mark just watched your video and have mixed feelings over it, what am getting at is the vid seemed to be an opportunity for you to Advertise your broken rod from your previous outing, it also seemed a bit of a coincidence that you forgot to take your recording equipment on that outing, don't get me wrong but I genuinely feel your disappointment with the tackle company but to use a video your suppose to be highlighting Barbel Fishing just seems lame to me😕 Almost all the comments for this vid go on about your broken rod, like I say what happend to making our great sport entertaining and enjoyable to watch? And 1 final thing, don't you feel it's childish making comments about the section of river you fished isn't as good as Coalport ? I mean come on let's be grown up here, it was your FIRST Time on that section and Trust Me, That Swim you were in is Arguably the Best Barbel Swim on that section and I should know as I've been a member of the Clubs that run it for over 30 Enjoyable Year's, and then you have a dig saying oh it's not as good as Coalport because you can hear the traffic in the distance, Maybe just Maybe ? You set out to highlight your broken rod more than entertaining the viewing public with a Angling Video, 🤔👎
Is that you Des 🤣🤣🤣
Hi “Barbel King” I try to address your thought process. I’ve checked and speak about the rod for 29 seconds out of 9mins & 4 seconds so about 5% of the video, that’s a pretty short advert. It was pretty inconvenient leaving the GoPros behind, but they along with the external microphones, batteries etc are all in a small Aqua bag (quite often viewable in my other Vlogs), and was left on the side in my kitchen. Having not managed to get anywhere with Cadence I was then contacted by them who commented they’d seen my video and we reached an acceptable compromise which I will mention in my next Vlog. I actually went out 3 weeks ago and filmed a Vlog, only to find there was no sound on all but one of the recordings ( a common fault with GoPros) and not the first time that has happened, unfortunately it was caused by the GoPro media mod developing a fault and GoPro have replaced it, but that doesn’t mean the Vlog is of any use. If you watch any of my other Vlogs you’ll not see me complain about any tackle and quite often praise items, so my Vlogs are not to make “lame” digs at anyone/manufacturer. Lastly I didn’t say it wasn’t as good as Coalport. I said Coalport is a nicer stretch to fish, meaning aesthetically it is more pleasurable in so much as all you will hear is wildlife. I’m fully aware of the stamp of fish on that stretch generally being better than the stretch at Coalport and early in the Vlog mention that, and also say I’ll return when I can spend more time on there.
Ultimately I accept you didn’t enjoy the Vlog, or my comments, which of course is your prerogative.
