Unlucky Mark - it's the way it goes. I'm a member of the same club and fish the same stretches - so you're probably not interested in another day up there 😂 I find the stretch you fished on day 2 - it's all or nothing. I went there last week and had a few out. A guy further down apparently had 13 barbel. I went 2 days later and never had a bite 🤷♂️ That's fishing I guess. Let me know if you want a day on the Trent again - happy to 'guest' you 👍
Even the match guys were struggling for anything, as you say, that's fishing, think the river will rise by mon if that weather does come in bad over the weekend 🤔
Thanks Gary, I may well take you up on that offer (next year). It was a strange 2 days. That first stretch is probably the deepest water I ever tried to catch Barbel in, and then the following day quite shallow 🤷🏼♂️ so really chalk and cheese. We’d get bored if we caught all the time 😅

Hi, I normally do to help others if they’re going to fish the stretch, but as I was a guest and it only has limited access I didn’t feel it was right to, whereas the 2nd stretch although on the same club it was obvious where I was, so was happy to say.
