Hey Kevin! Just wanted to thank you bro! For the very useful and accurate instructions. Specially, this one: "Do NOT give up too early...!" I've got a TS3440 PIXMA which has PG-440 & CL-445 cartridges. And I used to refill them with insulin syringes, without no trouble. But, after awhile the black cartridge stop printing even after refilling (I did not used to prime the cartridges at that time nor was aware of its necessity!) So I've end up breaking open the cartridge lid and removing the sponge trying to make an sponge less one, after seeing the near dry and almost white sponge in there. However failed to airproof the lid, everything was fine except for the ink flow to bottom plate. So I had to remove the lid again, though it was very hard this time- I had to sink the cartridge in acetone for several hours, trying to place back the sponge, fixing the gaps & ... After all, the most valuable tip of you which I kept in mind was "Do NOT give up too early, show your printer who is the boss!" Thank you brother, thank you very much!

While there is some useful information here, your cartridge will dry out in a week or two due to evapouration because you removed the cap, which will never again seal tightly. Go with the drilled hole method, which is easier to seal against evapouration
Well, we respectfully disagree. The extra exposure will come from the seam. Because the cover is closed, so there shouldn't bee too much of it. If you worry about it, you can use a semi-permanent seal, like the silicone glue to seal it and peel it off on the next refill. We will do a follow-up testing of your theory, compare a drill-n-fill with this method.
@@BCHTechnologies hi..is there a way to modify a catridge so it could fit to another printer?? What would be the problem if i will do that? Thanks in advance.
@@berserker0566 The problem is the chip on the cartridge. However, some cartridges like HP 564, 920, 902, 934, 935 uses the same body shape. If you transfer an HP 564 chip on a 920 body, it will work for 564. Same as Epson: most Epson's cartridge use the same body and the difference is the chip.
Can regular cartridges be filled to XL levels, or does the XL cartridge have larger reservoirs and sponges? Is it better to refill regular cartridges or XL cartridges?
XL cartridges have really nice big sponges, so they can hold more ink with out making a mess. "Regular" cartridges have the same size resevoir, but a smaller sponge. The sponge of the black cart in this video is a regular, not an XL. The starter or regular cartridges are good candidates for the spongeless lid replacement, or continuous ink supply systems, or you can actually buy a bigger sponge. So far, I really like Canon sponges better than HP, but we will see how it stands up to refilling. I should probably set up my continous ink supply, but I am still learning Canon. Back in the early oughts, HPs were the best to refil, but they defend their proprietary ink too hotly these day and are no longer refillable. So, Canon is now the most refillable.
I am using canon 745s and 756s cartridges. After filling it 3 to 4 times now the black catridge doesn't work, the colour partially working. The canon is blocking the cartridges.
I can over-ride the empty ink message and keep running fine, but my MG2922 will no longer do head cleaning or nozzle check. So I just print a small photo after refill.

Hello I refilled my cartridges but my printer is not printing black. It says it's still low on ink for both color and black. I went through the troubleshooting options but it still doesn't work. What can it be?
Hi Kevin, Can I refill non Canon brand ink cartirdges? I was planning on buying new cartridges from ''Ejet'' on Amazon since I haven't used my printer in a long time so most likely my Canon cartridges has been dried out. Thanks!
There are no new ink cartridges from other brands. Only canon makes them (they have special chips which nobody can reproduce). These brands buy empty cartridges, refill them, remove canon branding from them and add their own sticker. If your OEM cartridge is dried out, put it in warm or even hot water for a few minutes, dry out thoroughly, put in printer, run deep cleaning process around 3 times, and print a few pages that have the color which is dried out. Repeat until works again. I have succesfully restored a few cartridges with this method.
Use isopropylic alcohol on the printhead + if applicable for some cartridge models there's a vacuum adapter, like a plastic frame which mounts a seal on the print head and with a syringe about 1 ml of ink needs to be sucked out to clean the head and vacuum the cartridge. There are some clips in the related bar left, one is in chinese but shows clearly how it works.
I refilled pg745 cartridge by drilling on the top..i put around 6-7 ml of black ink but then too their is no rise in the ink level. So what should i do now??
Or you will need four more cartridges to reset the memory of printer that it uses to store serial numbers of cartridges. Insert all four cartridges one by one. After that the printer only store those four serial numbers of four cartridges as it can only store serial numbers of four last installed cartridges. After that insert refilled cartridge and that will be displayed. This is done because company makes chip of every individual cartridge that store information about how many prints it can yield and how many are printed? Then if you have printed specific amount of prints that can be only printed by that cartridge it will show you error that it have printed all amount and can't print anymore. When you follow the process then it will found it new and will make out the prints.

Yes. We had two more customers reported the same issue. It is due to your computer's software setup rather than the printer. Restart the computer should solve the problem. The symptom is that the printer can print diagnostic page but can't print regular pages. Both customers reported the problem went away after restarting the computer.

Should one be worried after refilling a cartridge that used pigment ink with dye ink? Is it neccessary to wash the sponge first? I am not sure if that's the reason my black cartridge is not working correctly (it starts printing a few pages correctly, and then gradually "looses" black ink, within one page). It seems to me that is too early for the super-bubble scenario, as the cartridge itself is not that old (I have it for a month, 1500 pages)
Add a drop or two of 99+% isopropyl alcohol to the ink to loosen it up, it'll flow better to the print head. What you are experiencing is a viscosity issue and the ink just doesn't flow as freely or quickly as its supposed to. Loosening it up with rubbing alcohol of 99% or more solves the issue. Do not use anything under 99% as it contains too many impurities like water and such that will ruin the ink and cartridge.
Dye ink is better if you are occasionally using printer as dye ink can be unclogged easily by keeping the printhead in water for 15 minutes. But if pigment ink clogs you will need to use isopropyl alcohol to unclog instead of water which will be expensive. Even then the sponge will still be somewhat clogged forever
Hi,I have 2 empty cartridges and the sponge inside is dry and very hard. What kind of sponge is used in these cartridges, and where can I buy them? Thanks
out of curiosity, do i have to press and hold the stop (triangle) button every time i print with a refilled cartridge? or is it a one time process and the printer will stop checking ink level for the rest of the printer's lifetime?
We are debating if we should sell the DIY kit or the ready-made product. The DIY kit will include a cartridge cap with pressure regulator. Customers can cut off the cartridge cap, take out the sponge, then install and seal the top. The ready-made product has a failure rate > 2%, which cannot pass QA.
*Your very good, thank you so much for your tutorials, I am so glad that people are standing up to these sonofabitch scumbag corporations!, you can actually buy a new printer for the price of a new ink cartridge. Shocking. I did pretty good for my first go =). Thanks again you deserve a donation =)*
This is great! My alternative to this ... and at the end of the day, less time-consuming (except for Maybethe making money part) = make more money ... and just buy a stock of cartridges :-)
I have refilled the 245 XL till it bleeds out and it still wont print and the ink is bleeding out of the print side slots. I dont think this refill crap works. I have tried and my fingers are black with ink. I called up canon and they say you have to order straight from them to get the "FULL" cartridge of ink.B.S.
In the video you talk about how to remove a clog and that with this method you can't blow on it but use other methods. I've never done this sort of thing before so can you explain?
Yes. Because there is only one hole on top of black cartridge (Canon PG 240, 245), you can use a priming syringe to blow air from the top. The air will push ink down and push the clog out of bottom. This works very well with air bubbles, dried inks, and dusts. We are uploading another video, you can see the method. I will give you the link after the upload is complete. It doesn't work for HP, because it has 5 holes. You need to block all the holes and leave one open.
I have the same ink I have CANON pixma mx340 I have refill 10 times up to now after the 7th time it didn’t print the same after struggling for hours figuring out what it was I took apart the cartridges I washed sponge till they were completely ink free , then I waited a couple minutes I refilled them with ink waited 30 more minutes for the ink to sit and after that printed just fine.
NICE! Please give us an update when the cartridge eventually fail. I wonder how many times you can refill it. My record on a sponge cartridge is 10 times and I think you will beat me.
Could you tell me how to refill the cartridges on a Canon Pixma TS 8160 please?Would there be a TH-cam on it? (I have searched but can't find any.) Thanks! Otherwise, a great video, very clear!!
The dye black is not as "black" as the pigment. Actually, it is deep purple. If you use BCH ink, we are coming up with a new dye ink for medical printing, which is the darkest dye ink.
It wasn't BCH ink I guess the ink is the problem. I'll get another ink. Can you wash out the sponge under water? I don't want to mix the bad ink with new ink.
Any dye ink will be fine here: bchtechnologies.com/ink-for-printers/refill-ink-for-canon/all-dye-ink. Although Canon's PG-245 is pigment ink, I like to use dye ink in it.
I kind of refilled around 10 or 12 times of more than that by the method of drilling, but now I don't know it's not printing, it's like clogged but after watching all ur videos I tried to wash out or pressurize it but still it shows no improvement.
It depends on what ink you used and the age of the cartridge. If you use pigment ink, my current count is about 2,100 pages to 2,600 pages. For dye ink, the current count is about 3,600 to 4,000 pages. If you refilled 10 times and used pigment ink, you are about to be around the limit. However, if you used dye ink, you should be able to refill another 10 to 12 times. However, these are disposable bubble jets and the printhead do get old. We have a blog, showing the difference between a clogging printhead and dying printhead: www.bchtechnologies.com/blog/3-symptoms-of-dying-printhead-poor-printing-quality-may-not-due-to-clogging
yes it was very informative in knowing the theory of urs. you worked dedicatedly. one more question is pg-47 will be compatible to canon mg2500 series ( mine is mg2470)
Thanks. I am not sure about if PG-47 will be compatible with Canon MG2500. PG-47 is an Asian model for Canon Pixma E400 / E460 / E480. The US market uses PG-243 CL-244 or PG-245 CL 246 for MG2500. Canon usually changes the first digit across the markets, for example, 243 becomes 143 or 343. The product page says it can print 400 pages, I guess it is equivalent to PG-245XL?
@@BCHTechnologies Put the cartridge in hot water for two minutes to remove the clogging.Shake to remove the water, some ink will come out, dry with tissue and install for printing.

That's because you overfilled it. The cartridge has a sponge and your goal is to get the sponge wet, not soaked. Many people believe there is a swimming pool inside the cartridge and fill the ink to the rim. Don't. For the overflow cartridge, just leave them in the printer for a day or two, then take them out and wipe the bottom clean.

@@waltpierluissi2301 Yes, the printer won't recognize the new ink level. Keep printing. You can't "reset" the chip. Just keep printing until one day the printer stops you and says "Error 1688 (or 1686,...)" the following cartridge is depleted. Do not close that window. Keep the window open and press and hold the STOP button for 5 seconds. The STOP button is the one with a red upside-down triangle, not the scan button. You will hear a click, and the printer is back to work. It won't track the cartridge ink level anymore, and you can add ink as many times as you want.

can you point out the seem it's pretty hard to cut
Thank you sir. M to apna priter hi gerne wala tha thank u..
Hi,I have 2 empty cartridges and the sponge inside is dry and very hard. What kind of sponge is used in these cartridges, and where can I buy them? Thanks
You can put the sponge under running water and wash out all the dry inks. The sponge should be able to recover and used again.
Is this suit for PG 745s
out of curiosity, do i have to press and hold the stop (triangle) button every time i print with a refilled cartridge? or is it a one time process and the printer will stop checking ink level for the rest of the printer's lifetime?
which type of ink you used and where we should buy this ink?
i can't seem to find the refillable cartridge on your store
We are in beta testing.
We are debating if we should sell the DIY kit or the ready-made product. The DIY kit will include a cartridge cap with pressure regulator. Customers can cut off the cartridge cap, take out the sponge, then install and seal the top. The ready-made product has a failure rate > 2%, which cannot pass QA.
how to order the kit ? for black and color please
woeeew.... i just refilled my own ink
Congratulations 🎊🎉
*Your very good, thank you so much for your tutorials, I am so glad that people are standing up to these sonofabitch scumbag corporations!, you can actually buy a new printer for the price of a new ink cartridge. Shocking. I did pretty good for my first go =). Thanks again you deserve a donation =)*
Same way also for MG2950? thanks
How get cartridge 122 for HP printer .
It's the same thing, except HP as you "The cartridge is empty, do you want to keep using this cartridge". Click Yes and it will go on.
I called up canon and they say you have to order straight from them to get the "FULL" cartridge of ink.B.S.
how many times refill 745 & 746 cartridges
Tehere is a software solution ???
In the video you talk about how to remove a clog and that with this method you can't blow on it but use other methods. I've never done this sort of thing before so can you explain?
Yes. Because there is only one hole on top of black cartridge (Canon PG 240, 245), you can use a priming syringe to blow air from the top. The air will push ink down and push the clog out of bottom. This works very well with air bubbles, dried inks, and dusts. We are uploading another video, you can see the method. I will give you the link after the upload is complete. It doesn't work for HP, because it has 5 holes. You need to block all the holes and leave one open.
Here you go: th-cam.com/video/MkvGIWu-O2Y/w-d-xo.html Fast forward to 4:00. It shows using a priming syringe to blow air into the cartridge.
How many times we can refill canon catridges?
Thank you so much.. 😇🥰
TS8160 needs a resettable chip. I don't think anyone is making it yet. So you may want to wait a few months.
I tried to cut the seems and it cut the plastic off.
+Louisa Gerrits Find the seam. It will be as easy as cutting a cake.
is this video is applicable for all the cartridge
It is applicable to all Canon integrated cartridges. By integrated, I mean the printhead and cartridge is built into one unit.
HP inkjet all in one printer ka color cartridge kaise refill hoga
see the video of other cartridge filling and drill a small hole , refill, and put a airtight sticker on the surface. See HP cartridge refills.
Hey do you know why the black are not as black after refilling? Like, the shade of black is less deep and rich.
If it is dye ink, then don't worry about mixing. It should be okay. Yes, you can wash the sponge with water.
How to reset the ink cartiages on Canon 2520?
You don't reset it. Just hold down the STOP button for 10-15 sec when there is a "cartridge depleted" popup window. It will disable the ink gauge.
where can I get a replacement sponge or the cartridges you mentioned.
Do your sponges resist drying out? Kits look kind of nice may test them out. Video extremely informative please leave it up.
Thanks. We don't use a sponge. We use a pressure regulator so it won't have fatigue issue.
@@BCHTechnologies but you used the sponges in the video
where to buy ink 245?
@@BCHTechnologies Put the cartridge in hot water for two minutes to remove the clogging.Shake to remove the water, some ink will come out, dry with tissue and install for printing.
how many ml should be refilled in each for cyan, yellow and magenta?
The volume chart is here: www.bchtechnologies.com/blog/what-is-the-difference-between-pg-243-cl-244-and-pg-245-cl-246-for-canon-pixma-printer
Thank you so muchhhhhhhhh you save my money aloooooot
انا تخلط الاصفر مع الازرق كيف نظفو
I refilled my 746 cartridge for 11 times but after that my printer release that cartridge.....cartridge was in good condition but I coudnot use because printer did not support
i just drill a small hole on the top and inject the required ink in that way and reseal the top
Nice video
Hi, when we use original canon cartridge after refilled cartridge the ink track system will come to live?
Tq so much😁😁😂
this worked for me
thanks
Why not sell sponges as well 🤷🏻♂️
Im looking to find the same type of sponge to use as well in preparation for the fatigue . If anyone knows where to buy the sponges or what type of sponges to buy, please let me know
Okay, I will sell some. What are you guy's cartridge models?
@@BCHTechnologies I was just suggesting
@@BCHTechnologies I am using the PG 245 XL & CL 246 XL cartridges ( I have a canon printer mx492)
nice ❤
Thanks ✌
thanks a lot
well i did it and ink come out very fast on the bottom
That's because you overfilled it. The cartridge has a sponge and your goal is to get the sponge wet, not soaked. Many people believe there is a swimming pool inside the cartridge and fill the ink to the rim. Don't. For the overflow cartridge, just leave them in the printer for a day or two, then take them out and wipe the bottom clean.
You don't have to remove the top!!!
what has to be done then??
Why are you taking it apart when you can just enlarge the holes for syringe and inject the ink
I just did the same thing you request to do with 2 original canon cartridges and it does not work, my printer never recognize them anymore and giving me problems and error codes every time.... your demonstration is actually not quite accurate...
What was the error code?
@@BCHTechnologies :: the error code was given by other cartridges I had on the printer and was telling to call the tech support on cannon, so I did have the original cartridges cannon that I had before them and did your suggestion on refilling them just like your video describe; but the printer never recognize that the cartridges were full of ink; I also did the suggested resetting and still did not work... so I decide to purchase two refiled cartridges from an reputable supplier on ebay, that actually provide me with a guarantee and those work fine; but I still paid $close to $30 for them; which compared to $55 original Cartridge on Walmart is much better..... BUT YOU WAY OF REFILING DO NOT WORK FOR ME!!!!
Not the best method. A better method would be to drill small holes, fill and plug them or tape them tight.
Emm N. Yes
IM HAVE TROUBLE GET THE SCANNER GOING YOU MIGHT WANT TO SHOW PEOPLE HOW TO GET IT GOING IF IT NOT WORKING
entonces cual metodo es mejor para el pg-210, este o el del otro video th-cam.com/video/wLzrXkRZOuM/w-d-xo.html
