Greg Minnaar has been riding O’Neal products (although not hemets) for 6yrs now and during that time has developed gloves, knees pads, jerseys, shorts, pants and so on with us.
With Greg set to compete in our helmets in his 2018 World Cup campaign, we wanted to create a fresh-looking modern helmet with a ton of ventilation and maximum safety in a lightweight package, suitable for both DH and Enduro.
Greg was involved right from the start, meeting with both product and graphic designers, sitting around a blank piece of paper, to make sure he was directing the project even in the early stages.
The sketches progressed to CAD files, then to 3D files, to clay models, to rapid prototypes, to actual ridable prototypes through to signed-off production samples. Greg was involved every step of the way.
