- Aoyue 2703A+ Soldering Station - Rework Station - Professional Repairing System.
This video will explain some of the functions of this device. It includes a soldering iron with smoke absorber, desoldering gun, heat gun and vacuum system. Advanced safety features include power saving features, auto sleep mode, overheat protection, and auto cool down options.
This video also includes my opinions (good and bad) on some of its features.
(HD Quality 1280x720).
Well, I think all reviews should include a demonstration for example, how the soldering iron and the desoldering gun can deal with big thermal masses, how precise the temperature regulation system is, what temperatures can this elements get, how fast are they, a brief teardown to know about the build quality and the techniques the manufacturer used, a bit of soldering and desoldering applications, etc.
And also answer questions like:
It's ESD safe, it´s earth grounded at least?
How easy is to get the replacement parts?
Does the desoldering iron have the typical chisel and the half chisel tips?
What about SMD components?
And so on.
But, you are in time to do this kind of review...
These are all valid points. At the time I made the video I didn't think of all of those points. So I'll answer some questions now: Replacements are easy to find and inexpensive. A company called www.sra-solder.com has all the replacement parts. The desoldering iron and soldering iron use the same tips. A few tips are included with the workstation. But you can always buy different tips at www.sra-solder.com.
I have not yet tried the SMD tip.
You can find more technical data about the Aoyue 2703a+ including a copy of the owner's manual at:
sra-solder.com/aoyue-2703a-all-in-one-digital-hot-air-rework-station/
If you decide to buy one of these work stations make SURE you read the input voltage. Both the 110VAC and 220VAC input voltage are being sold in the US. Buy the one you need.
I agree 100%
I especially appreciated your observation about the airflow to the hot air gun being significantly reduced when the smoke absorber or desoldering iron is connected. This important detail is not mentioned anywhere I found any of the Aoyue SMD rework stations. You have influenced my future purchase of a SMD rework station and saved me a significant amount of buyer's remorse and regret. Thank you! :)
I'm glad that my video helped.
Cool video thanks!
PS: Did you find information on the 5 different modes and their purpose?
No conclusively. But I did receive some additional information from viewers. Please check the comments below.
Hello, I was just wondering if you had ever pinned out the connector for the soldering iron as per your discussion in the comments with another user that was having an issue with their iron not heating up. I'm having the same issue with mine, and its brand new, just out of the box. Everything else works, with the exception of the soldering iron. Kind of frustrating on a brand new unit.... Thank You!
Armchairfabio Sorry for the late reply. I just went out to the garage to get the pinouts for you but noticed that it wasn't an easy task. I would have to take the soldering iron handle apart to do so, but it didn't come apart - at least not easily and I didn't want to break it. Could it be that on YOUR soldering iron your tip was not pushed all the way into the handle? I hear a slight "click" sound in my handle so I know that the tip is fully seated. If the tip is not pushed all the way into the handle, the iron won't work. On another note, if it's a brand-new unit you have and the iron it is truly defective, why not return or exchange it?
I'm sure this is old news to you by now but, just in case someone else runs in to it, I had the same issue (not heating up). In my case the tip was not pressed firmly into the handle. Once I pressed it in all the way (after taking it all apart and making sure I had continuity through the cord) it worked like a champ. Hope that helps. -Jeff
Solder Iron tip looks a lot like Hakko T12 or T15 series, do you have any idea with compatibility?
I have no idea regarding compatibility between the Hakko and this unit.
is it really that noisy ?? or is it the mic you're using??
It IS that noisy :(
even with the pump off?
Oh no. With the suction pump off it's silent.
Mmmmm. I love the smell of solder smoke in the morning.
Me too!
It stands to reason that the "100P" for the air pressure is "100 percent" of the maximum blower speed.
Makes sense. I'm sure you're right.
this is far from a review. you state at the end of the video you haven't tried it yet? wow that's 20 minutes down the drain ill never get back. you just explained the features, but you gave very little of your impressions on them. That is what people look to reviews for. If they wanted the features they would just go to amazon and read the description. I appreciate you posting it, but c'mon you should try out the unit before giving a review on it
Sorry for wasting your time. I can tell you that after using it for many months, I have not had a problem with it except for the suction inlet cap. It never did screw-on properly - like it was cross-threaded. Also, it would have been nice to have a toggle switch for degrees F and degrees C. I can't get used to degrees C.
I appreciate your feedback and taking the time to respond. You get where I was coming from though right?
Benjamin Tesser I know where you're coming from. No problems there, and thank you for the feedback. But the comment of "that's 20 minutes down the drain ill never get back" wasn't necessary. We're good!
The P stands for percent 100% 50%
Another sad, glacier paced review where never is the device actually shown in use . . . aghhhhhh
