I fly Sikorsky S-76 C++'s and AS350 AStar's in Brazil, but I also love the old birds.
Though I have flow Bell 47's and Hughes 300's, I wish I had flow the S-55's and S-58's.
Unfortunately there's none in Brazil anymore, but seeing you video made my dream come true.
I could almost feel the sound, the smell, the vibration, the feeling of flying this classic chopper.
    Thank You very much sir!!!

An entertaining video, I felt as if I was flying the chopper myself. Must be hard work keeping old helicopters flying. Took me a while to work out what an S-55 is. Keep up the good work.

Looks like you were drying up near Okanagon and landing at Mons. Is that one of Fedarico’s old 55T’s. And what year was this. I flew 58’s just down the road at Brewster this year. Didn’t do much, hardly any rain.

This video was in 2014, wonder how many of those S-55's are still flying.

@@Heli_Brandon yeah the one in the video was a turbine conversion but the one that landed beside him sounded like an original radial engine S-55

Can some one explain to me what they are doing here ? Are you using helicopters for crop spraying , please ?

Wow you guys have an S-55 or H-19 still flying in 2014 ! I thought that there was only one air worthy example still flying the one owned by Hale Gurland. Is this in Washington state and is this bird still flying in 2016 ?

Its definitely an S55 helicopter but it sounds like it has a turbine engine conversion, thats not the way the old piston engine 55 sounds

Boone Jeffers, Where did you hear that there was only 1 flying example? There are tons of videos of H19/S55 on TH-cam at airshows and working around the world. I happened to have seen one in person at my job in 2006-07 installing an AC unit on the roof. It was amazing seeing it flying so close overhead, really interesting sounding engine for sure.
Edit: Also, I am making a Korean War FPS video game which is a total conversion mod for the PC game Battlefield 2. You can actually fly this chopper in the game and we even have a field modified version with a m1919 .30 cal machine gun on a gunpole to turn the chopper into an early gunship.
You can download my free mod here. Battlefield 2 is also 100% free now which I will also link below.
