I've been making homemade Mac and cheese since college, I've perfected my dish over the years by watching other culinary artists and building a flavor profile and texture anyone can love. My daughter told me she prefers Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.
Honestly, I can relate to her. I have a love/hate relationship with Mac and Cheese, and sometimes it doesn't matter how good of a cook someone is; I can't bring myself to eat it. However, I can always eat Kraft Mac and Cheese. I don't know why, that's just how it is. So, don't take it to heart. (This reply is slightly silly, but only slightly).
We have a running joke in our house that she prefers bland foods. She's just a really picky eater. Her favorite salad is Ceasar, doesn't like beans or avocado unless they're in something, won't eat cooked tomatoes, spinach, carrots or bell peppers. Honestly I think her favorite foods are applesauce and crackers...she's 15.
Don't forget, it's adjusted to your taste, not hers! Personally I haven't had a homemade mac and cheese I prefer over boxed. I like the simple indulgent flavors it offers - when I want mac and cheese I want simplicity, not complexity. Giving me anything else is taking away from what i'm after.

Anyway, you could do so many fancy lunchables and put them in cute packaging (if you wanted, this is just a suggestion.

My family has done grilled sausage in the kraft deluxe mac n cheese for as long as I can remember. We also switch it up and do seared tuna with peas on occasion as well. My kids love either iteration we give them because at the end of the day who doesn't love mac n cheese.
I like to do a middle ground for this, with slicing the hot dogs and frying them in a pan with pepper, add either some shredded cheddar or jalapeno pepper jack after it's ready.
Loved everything about this ep. Loved the process of the recreation of the original. Loved how it was judged by a kid. Loved how Henry was a mature cool dude who wasn't afraid to try something different. I was afraid we'd get a kid who'd say something along the lines of, "Gross. I don't eat canned goods. My mother only cooks farm to table food." But he was great!

I miss it when my granny Doris (cousin but we called her that) would cook for us when we came to visit...she eventually had to stop because of old age and health, but she would make everything from scratch and still to this day I've never been able to make it the food like she did.
In this episode, Nicole looks like the junior high teacher who I never had for any classes, but her desk was in a little computer room and she let me use the computers there between classes (I only had a Commodore 64 at home, at that point). And Josh looks like the 'fun' babysitter who'd put Lego people on the ceiling fan then turn it on, and we'd all shield our faces with couch cushions and giggle like complete idiots. ...So even without the food, nostalgic times for me. =D
