And this is how we learn. Good job driver for helping the rookie driver out. Good that the other driver didn't give him an easy pass by pulling ahead. If these mega companies don't want to teach them properly, then we will. To the new driver I say this. If your in a jam don't be afraid to ask us for help. We won't make it easy on you but we will help. That's how you learn.
Y’all swear someone isn’t trained properly when I’ve seen other company drivers do some dumb shit. A rookie driver has to learn from their mistakes or from others. I guarantee you yourself has had mishaps that you wouldn’t dare say.
@@TJ-100 Oh I'll say it. I forgot how long the trailer was on my first trip and when leaving the dock I knocked another trailer off it's landing gear. The damage came off my pay. But I only did this once. LOL
Ahhhhhh, no! The 2nd driver should have pulled his truck up, and let the rookie learn another way/time. Damaging a truck to prove a point is NEVER worth the lesson, if damage can be avoided, even if he was out of hours.
Thx for helping the guy out...he was a nervous wreck....we've all been there....and there have always been good guys that have helped or given advice.....then theres the evil, mean spirited fellow drivers that take joy in others mistakes and want to see them fail... My thumbs up to this driver that helped the younger driver. Clearly the younger driver was haven a bad day, by helping him not only did he teach him but he saved thousands of dollars of damage being caused to two different trucks.
I remember learning to drive. I was nervous as hell as well. I never made this type of mistake, but I appreciate this guy helping the kid out of his mistake.
W L I was 3 months out and got into a situation like this but I was halfway in there, it was night time, and the lot was pretty tight. I managed to back myself out the same way I got in the way I was taught luckily I didn’t damage anything but I was nervous and embarrassed as hell 😂
You can be a new driver or a veteran driver. We all have those days but it's nice to have a good driver out there to help out. We're all we have out there at times and we have to stick together.
With driving school for the regular car we once ended up in a parking lot where someone was reverse parking their car and was having trouble doing it. I will never ever forget my driving instructor after the person made it into the spot safely, but just took a little longer (which still wasn't anywhere near as long as it might feel to some people by having him say "Did someone get hurt? Where there any damages caused? No? Did we arrive safely were we needed to be? Yes? Just accept not everyone is as good as doing some things in a car, but that if you take your time and give someone some space, you'll both be fine."
@@mr.joseph7806 I don't think this has anything to do with inexperience.. He must of been high, or something severely wrong with the trucks air brakes. That wasn't normal, painful to watch.
Man I feel that guys pain. I'm still a new driver myself and I remember just how nerve wracking and stressful my first few weeks were by myself. I still get a little nervous going to truck stops I've never been to before but my backing skills are considerably better then they were my first month on the job. And thank you Scottie for helping this guy out, I've had a few other drivers help me back up when I was struggling and us new guys really appreciate the help and advice you experienced guys give us and pass along. Stay safe out there man.
Exactly I wish I could get a open lot with room to set up for a straight back or pull through with DAY LIGHT and this guy is trippin. He makes me feel way more confident in going out and working on my maneuvers
Simeon Black we all start somewhere. I’m only two years in and can 45 in right spots at 0200 now. Practice every time u got time at shippers and receivers. N get n look when ur not sure.
His mindset is wacky. Amazing no damage. He was nervous or high. I would always help guys that are still learning. He has the whole 30 acres to choose from. When I was a rookie i walked from the end of the truck stop.
One major problem with new drivers is a lot of trucking companies allow guys to be trainers when they haven't even been driving for a year. My first trainer at CR England had only been driving for 6 months and didn't teach me anything, and was a very unsafe driver. I asked for a different trainer and he actually taught me a lot.
OMG, I am female and drove for Swift. Had one of the best female trainers in the world. Learned so much feom that lady. Went on to finish my contract with them with a sqeeky clean dac and no accidents. Hope this guy finally relaxed a little. !!!
I currently drive for swift, been driving about 7 months and it's been one the best career choices I could have made. This fellow needs more practice. Even when I was with my trainer, I learned first off to look for an easy spot to park in. I've needed help before and I've also given help when needed.
Good deal driver! Instead of filming and walking away, you stuck around and helped to the end. I remember one of my rookie mistakes with PAM Transport. Hell, occasionally have one every now and then. Was backing into a DHL staging area in Louisville KY, damned tight lot, and was so concerned with not taking the nose off the driver on my sight side, I failed to watch my space on the blind side. Needless to say I rubbed trailers with the ol' boy on the blind side. The second I felt resistance, I stopped, popped the brakes, did some cussing, jumped out and went to talk with the driver. Ol' boy was laughing himself silly, looked at me and said "Damnit son, thought I was getting loaded. I'll give you credit though, you didn't keep trying to push into the space." I apologized profusely, but he waved it off, told me "Hell, we were all new at one point." Told me to pull up, straighten out, and slide in, all the while he guided me, giving me tips and tricks to use. Didn't do any damage except a scratch along the edge of the frame rail. He laughed it off, said "Don't worry about it, at least you didn't hit my truck." Shook his hand and stood out there jaw jackin. I had ordered a pizza before getting there and when they delivered it, sat there and split it with him as a small token of my gratitude. If there's anything I learned from the older hands, it's this: We were all new at some point. I whole heatedly agree that the mega carriers are pushing drivers through training way to fast. Best learning experience you'll ever get out here, is being out here.
@Schism Circle amen said nicely I been driving over 20 years I admit I have done stupid moves as a rookie .on my own as a solo driver that I didn't experience when i was with a trainer ..
This guy is a danger at his current level of ability and shouldn't be driving solo if he is a rookie. If he isn't a rookie, he shouldn't be driving professionally at all.
I graduated from school in October 2018, Got my first job March 2019 because I wanted a local job and found a desperate company. My first day went like this, Here's the key to the truck and here is the address you will be making a delivery to, see you when you get back. This guy went out on the road with a trainer to be working with Swift. And I in no way was as bad as this guy is. So one of two things, he is on drugs or he slept through training. I blame the driver. I graduated top of my class because I paid attention and asked questions and asked for instruction over and over. Though they had a rule that while in the yard you didn't shift out of first or second gear (depending on which you started) I did and taught myself how to double clutch and down shift in the yard before we went out on the road. I started in second and went to third and back to second.
ken karish Me too. People get in tight spots all the time. It can be nerve wracking. I got in one recently thinking I could go in a sort of roundabout thing but it was too tight and had to back up out of it and I have driving a while now.
@@ngkngk875 my first day ended up on a non truck road, found a nearby 4 way intersection and made a left and backed across the street and left again to get out.
@Jonathan MOORice yes. You ACCIDENTALLY bumped the wall. Damage is not required for something to happen accidentally. I accidentally put too much fertilizer on my lettuce and it grew huge really fast
I'm getting ready to drive for Swift. I used to drive for Central Refrigerated, I think Swift bought them. Anyway I been off the road for years and just now going back. wish me luck ppl
right @Kelly, but that is how it goes -- truckers only looking out for themselves and no one else -- it happens; yet we call them all kinds of nasty names tho
I would agree but the fact there were so many open spaces and this idiot choose to be stupid I would be pissed at the guy to he likely woke up the other driver cause he decided he did not want to park in the other 100 free spaces with no trucks around .
It is really sad to see that guy just standing there waiting for his trailer to get hit rather than move just a bit. It's that kind of mentality that really makes my blood boil. He just wants to to sit back and watch the incompetency of this shaking poor wreak of a driver.
He guys! I am a combat vet, served 5 tours since Desert Storm and now I am 60, in great shape and hitting the road. My CDL test is in two weeks in Arizona. I REALLY APPRECIATED THIS GUY for helping out this driver. We are all BROTHERS IN ARMS here and it was nice to see some decent posts by some of you. I will always be an explosives handler (EOD) and a lesson to the wise: you won't know who you meet up with! Stay safe guys.
why does another parked truck need to move because his sorry ass can't figure out how to park? knock on my door your going to hear "get the fu....oh wait..your swift? yeah, lemme move real quick"
All I see is that Swift wanted to park the easy way , they gotta learn how to park , lets help them either learn the way in or get the way out , its too dangerous for all to let them keep doing this thing
It can get very frustrating especially when all eyes are on you. I have that type of issue, I know what I'm doing and how to back but some old reason I get anxiety when I have folks watching lol.
Shane Walton don’t make fun of him I don’t think he was on drugs I think he was just nervous and embarrassed like the rest of us rookies when we do something stupid lol
Obviously he was a rookie driver. Maybe he thought this would be a good opportunity to practice his backing skills. Bless his heart he just set up wrong from the start. I'm sure once he realized he was being recorded his nerves got the best of him. We all know when we are nervous we make mistakes.
i would have told the kid take a 5 minute breather, relax then move truck but that prick should have moved the truck and i would not criticize the kid just give him a few pointers, i was once a rookie so i know how it is remember a 30 year experienced driver can also make mistakes so a rookie def most likely will look out for our fellow truck drivers
TBH, maybe the guy just watched what this asphalt butcher thought was "a good idea" and decided he'd rather leave it at a bump to the back of his trailer rather than let him in the spot and risk his nose gets ripped off in the morning by Swifty's next bright idea.... Totally conceding he might just be an asshole. No shortage of those in my profession....
The guy parked had 0 obligation to move and he shouldn't have to move let alone be woken out his sleeper because of a rookie driver. Doubly so when there were tons of double opem spots around emthe entire lot. There is one thing looking out for fellow drivers and then there is you get yourself in a position, you get yourself out.
Not about being new here its there is 1000 spaces he could of parked at and he choose to do that when I was new I avoided things I did not think I could handle you can learn all the same to back up when not around other people's vehicles .
Yep that's why I started carrying the headcam around because two different times I helped oldetimers backing and they both hit parked trucks and tried to blame me.
@@johnbell307 I got my license at 55 and started my first job at 56. And in no way am I as bad as these guys are. Most of the drivers I seen at school were paid by the state to go to school. They didn't learn a thing.
I've been driving since the 70's. I suck at backing, I'll always suck at it. I'm not ashamed to admit it. On the other hand, I haven't run into anything either. I use "GOAL" constantly. if I have to get out and look 20 times, I'll get out and look 20 times.
@@curtisscissons563 I've hit one person, it's a learning process. Took out his mirror backing in the dark, even got out and looked multiple times. Hit the gas a little to hard, and wham. I feather that pedal so soft now sometimes, I still get the shakes when backing.
I remember getting my class A. My boss tossed me the keys and sent me to Omaha then Jackson Michigan and down to Memphis. It was a trying experience but I made it through it. Now I back between 2 trailers multiple times a day with no problems, but back then ehhh a lil bit. lol
I like this video in particular for the man that recorded it in the first place even though there were some laughter he did try to help him and guide him and try to help him in the right way. Most truck drivers would just laugh and not do a damn thing about it. But for a company to send somebody out in the open just to defend for themselves it's unprofessional never send anybody when they're quite not ready. But I do take my hat off to the gentleman that did his best to help and guide a trucker in need
Amazing that a SWIFT driver listened... Even more impressive, you had the patience to help him out... Most people give up when they realize they don't have enough crayons and paper to explain it... Good job!!
No, not a rookie move. He doesnt have any physical depth perception ability, so he's always gonna hit something. How did he manage to get in with somebody else's fleet, and driving a Pete, no less. Wow! Big BooBoo! He needs a trainer onboard to help him see if he can learn how to get in and out of much worse spaces. Wait till he has to park in a daycab space in a small lot. Big BooBoo. I feel for him. I know he probably won't make it unless he at least stops hittin' whatever he's on.
More rookie drivers are saying the guy on the left should have pulled forward, if he did, swift would have gladly taken out the hood of the volvo on the right, he definitely needs to learn approach.
Hello, would it be ok for you if I use this video on my channel and my Facebook page? Ofcourse by adding your credit and your channel link in the video and post.
Instead of people always judging others. This guy with all this experience could have helped a rookie driver. Wouldn't care of the company everyone had to start somewhere.
I don't know where he learned to hold the brakes down so hard, bleeding them off then a couple times he tried to move but the brakes were set too. Totally flustered
Props to the cameraman for helping out this poor rookie driver , who made a rookie level mistake that didn't cause anyone any harm. Stuff happens , we were all Rookies once too
when u have a son, you help him succeed by showing empathy. This teaches camaraderie in trucking. Some drivers are young, and new, like sons, and the country needs all the sons in trucking we can get right now. the other driver should've moved forward. It's a dad thing. Some drivers don't have sons. They are competitive. They laugh at another struggling. this is insecure, hyper-masculine behaviour. My black yard co-worker, observing truckers, laughs and confides, "They think everything they believe in is out to attack them." We are brought up with male privilege. We are given responsibility and must protect our load. We serve in this manner. But more importantly, we serve our greater good by protecting each other.
Dude had all those large spaces to park it wasn’t a mistake it was poor fucking judgment. When I first started I wasn’t even ready to to do backs so I practiced at my terminal and large parking lots until I learned.
Ur right driver we all have maid a mistake or 2 sometime.I still do sometimes and I been driving 4 10 yrs but that's how we learn when u feel like u no everything it's time 2 get out of the truck!!
Any advice I can give to any new driver, real estate!!! If you have the room use it, get that tractor, trailer straight and just do a straight back. If you get to a unicorn of a truck stop like that with 14 open spots park in the back and get some practice in 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
It's called a new driver who saw what he thought was an easy spot, and then completely misjudged the room he needed to swing his trailer around.... It's an experience and judgement thing.... You have to do it to know how to do it, but it's a fact that the way they (barely) train these guys, many of them sadly end up like this... On drugs? Can't rule it out, TBH...
AnotherDeadDisciple, yeah, the trainees get 6 weeks of nothing but parking. Sometimes, the driver just doesnt have the physical attributes needed to effectively, timely and safely park 70 ft of truck. You only get 1 or 2 booboo before Swift puts you out on the street. You gotta get it right!! And yes, it's a constant situational awareness battle.
@@carnissan6728 yes, but I honestly wonder if this was one of the guys whose "trainer" was a certified SuperTrucker with a whopping 6-9 months of solo time himself...... Just one more thing I can't stand about these mega carriers. They wanna "train" folks, but they also don't want to pay a veteran driver what it would take for them to actually take a job training said drivers, so they resort to a sea of asshole FNG's, most of whom do not have the requisite experience to legimitately be able to "train" anyone properly.... Not picking on new drivers, BTW. Everybody's got to start somewhere, but it's the companies who do this shit that fail their new drivers, and that subsequently makes things harder and more dangerous for the rest of us.....
I know this post is a lil old.......but........that's right....once upon a time I did that. Don't laugh....I know I'm laughing my as s off. Hahahaha. That's right I thought I was big stuff....once upon a time. Thank God I was among great folks. They guided me out of a tight spot and pointed out a "great" spot. All I can say is thanks to truckers that don't mind helping out fools. Yes me. Hahahaha. Enough of those days....live and learn. Be safe. God bless.
You know you can be in a high state from lack of sleep. so nervousness plus learning to control his hours meant lack of sleep could of been getting the best of that guy and the possibility of having a bad trainer that let him loose before he should of been on his own. so who knows?
When I first started, boy would I get nervous. Yes I’ve made some mistakes and most of the times those nerves would make it worse. Which I believe that’s what happened with this driver. It’s the process of learning and gaining the experience. But we all as truck drivers go through this in the beginning. I’m truly thankful for having generous drivers help me out in the past. Now I’m a lot better at what I do and know how to get myself out of a mess when it happens.
Because of the cool word, Liability. You try to help someone out and they hit something and they might try to pin it on you and say you're liable for the damages, And you usually don't want to get that close to someone who obviously has no idea what they are doing, This is just my opinion though, And I am not a trucker.
There's something wrong with a new driver that wants to pull in where the "big boys" do. If it's not on drugs or over-tired, then he's got an inferiority problem. When i started, I was always guilty of finding the easiest place to park. And when I got better, I'd still look for the easiest.
Difference between proffesional and amateur is. Pro always looks for easiest way and rookies try to be tough guys. What surprises me is that some of them never come out of truck to check when they back up in dock for loading and smash walls instead..
But actually, who is this guy that's recording this and telling him he's OK, to keep backing when it's clear he's jackknifing? I don't like how cocky he is-- and of course, it's not up to him to make a wild guess what he's doing in the back.... A few times, I'd pull into the fuel line, shut off the engine and use my "bathroom," then get back to trucking.
If you do decide to go to training look into Roehl transport in Wisconsin. My husband has been with them for almost 5 years and they paid him to go to training and he had a wonderful trainer out on the road. He’s now trained to become a driver trainer himself. It’s a great company to work for.
Good to see people out there willing to help out the new drivers. The fact you stopped to help saved two drivers from a lost time incident and we need more guys like you out here. I drive for swift, I can laugh about that, and fortunately I know how to handle my truck. That being said, I've been in tight spots and I've always been fortunate enough to have the more learned drivers help out. I've met some real asshats too but more oft than not there's always someone willing to give you a hand if you need it. We're all on the same team, regardless of the company you work for. Lord knows the companies don't give a shit about us. Without each other we're alone out here. Keep paying it forward, you'll be rewarded for your good deeds.
I do not understand why these guys go on there blind side. This company is clearly unprofessional not training these new drivers properly . Nice that you helped him out, good on you
I remember my first load 30 years ago I was not able to park to be unloaded another driver helped me and my 2nd load I didn't find the warehouse so I had to go back to the yard the third load I called the office because I had forgotten where I have had parked the truck the fourth load I called the dispatch because the trailer did not want to move and the dispatch told me to invert the air hoses and this is not a yoke.
Just amazing !! Sometimes I sit in the truck stop and just watch. Some will fight a half hour to get into a parking spot when there's 10 others that you can just pull through. Because I don't want to walk a extra 10 ft.
That dude is clueless about how to even maneuver the truck. Instead of backing up while turning right, he kept going left, jack knifing it more. He should not be on the road. When I started, I had a little bit of a difficult time getting the truck in the spot on the first shot, but I knew which way to turn to get the truck in the general area in which I wanted. But he doesnt even seem to understand that. Joking aside, swift training must be completely non existent
makes one wonder if he kept going to touch this parked fixed object at such a slow speed even while the evidence of impending hit was directly in his mirror, what will he do at 60 miles per hour.....
I’m starting soon with swift myself. I hope I come across people like you if I need advise/help. But I’m confident within myself to do really good and move on from swift after I payed fully with the schooling..
I have a feeling the guy was a new student and his trainer was sleeping in the back and he just decided to pick a spot that he don't know how to park in because he don't want to walk too far to the truck stop.
He should really go back with a trainer as he's not ready to solo yet. Also I would have asked him to get out of the truck to see if he was high on anything, but that could just be anxiety.
Yeah could be just anxiety from just hitting a fixed object which is usually a fireable offense in trucking. But the guy was just wow, shaky, nervous as hell. He had painted fingernails (every other one) which I don't judge or even know what that means. He had hit that trailer then when I walked around he was back in the sleeper with the curtains closed WTH? was he doing back there? Things that make you go hmmmm
I lived across the road from a swift terminal in OKC. then, when i became homeless I lived a mile down the road in my pick up truck at the big 4 on Morgan and 44. so I had people warning me about swift drivers being some of the worst. so I did not have a good opinion of them even before I saw it with my own eyes. seeing it for myself only verified the warnings.
Painted nails on a male is an instant flag for mental illness. That level of silly bespeaks a greater level of stupid. I do judge because I don't need fools operating dangerous equipment in my vicinity.
Im about to go drv for this guys. Don't laugh at me. I need to get my foot in the door. But thank God my pops training me the old school way when trucker was trucker. And knew how to drv. Yall pray 4 me & i be doing the same

@@scottied67 Sometimes the common sense does not come right away. Everything he did was wrong. I just think instead of denigrating him helping would have been better for everyone. No one is born with a Fuller R10 transmission in their hands. Please just think about that when confronting the slowness of your fellow drivers. Things are rotten enough out here. Swift, for their part is far too willing to unleash this inexperience on the motoring public. They are by no means the only company doing this and not all their drivers are represented by this one. Peace and safe travels to you sir.
I remember 10 years ago when I started my career as a HGV/CDL driver . Having the support of everyone was an amazing and helpful experience . Man that's just scary how someone that bad off at maneuvering is given a truck solo. Looks like he could have used at least another month of training to at least get basic turns and backing in order. Someone wanted him off their truck BAD!
MrLouisiana17 not all have that. I am a owner op and i still have the swift decal on the side. It depends on the owner. But judging by the skill setting, he may still be in training. That was a student mistake. In time he will figure it out. We all must start somewhere

I worked for sears auto center, and we'd get tire deliveries from swift, and seeing them trying to back up to our door, no loading dock, just a garage door style. They'd clip the island pulling forward, line up good, start backing up turning the trailer, back over the island, and all cock-eyed, once saw a guy take 10 attempts. Finally took the trailer and rig over the whole isalnd
Steven Mendez Steven Mendez : Thats exactly where they DO send new drivers. Even though swift ONLY has 53ft trailers (which arent allowed in the 5 bouroughs). Usually with bald tires & rusted stuck tandems.
I am just gonna say the whole, hey this guy is a rookie and this is learning thing, is complete BS. Guys like this, new or veteran driver, are what give the 98% of us drivers look horrible. If you can’t figure out how to park in a virtually empty truck stop without jamming up that bad, then you shouldn’t be driving period. This is first day on trainer truck stuff here. Should have never been passed and companies should be ashamed to hire drivers like these.
And this is how we learn. Good job driver for helping the rookie driver out. Good that the other driver didn't give him an easy pass by pulling ahead. If these mega companies don't want to teach them properly, then we will. To the new driver I say this. If your in a jam don't be afraid to ask us for help. This lot is a newvie's dream yet it is Swift. They act like they are driving 4 wheelers
Good gawd look at all the easy ass open spots to park
His mindset is wacky. Amazing no damage. He was nervous or high. I would always help guys that are still learning.
He has the whole 30 acres to choose from.
When I was a rookie i walked from the end of the truck stop.
Sitting on your ass all day walking from the back feels awesome even after years
These videos are teaching me what not to do when I head out in a few months.
If I found a place like that to park I would think I had died and gone to heaven!
Ya Know....
Exactly
One major problem with new drivers is a lot of trucking companies allow guys to be trainers when they haven't even been driving for a year. My first trainer at CR England had only been driving for 6 months and didn't teach me anything, and was a very unsafe driver. I asked for a different trainer and he actually taught me a lot.
I really respect how you noticed that one he's a rookie and just a kid and tried to de escalate the situation. Great job .
OMG, I am female and drove for Swift. Had one of the best female trainers in the world. Learned so much feom that lady. Went on to finish my contract with them with a sqeeky clean dac and no accidents. Hope this guy finally relaxed a little. !!!

How long is the contract with Swift
@@JUANLOPEZ-dl6ux it's a year
I currently drive for swift, been driving about 7 months and it's been one the best career choices I could have made. This fellow needs more practice. Even when I was with my trainer, I learned first off to look for an easy spot to park in. I've needed help before and I've also given help when needed.
i used to pull in spots like this just to test myself..never had this problem..swing wide mate
Thanks for helping this driver from one driver to the next. Some people would have just watched n recorded and laughed.
Thank you for truly understanding what I was trying to do. I caught a ton of hate for this video from others who just don't get it.
You deserve a dump of hate. You were getting your jolies. He's not high. He just had a major shit scare
Nobody starts out as experienced drivers. And we all made mistakes. But this isn't normal. I don't think he's cut out for this.
@Schism Circle amen said nicely I been driving over 20 years I admit I have done stupid moves as a rookie .on my own as a solo driver that I didn't experience when i was with a trainer ..
sounds like he keeps hittin the brake pedal. it doesn't sound like he's trying to idle up the engine to build pressure.
@@senorpepper3405 build up pressure? What does that do? Do you mean tap on the gas pedal?
@alfred selle you are absolutely right
He def is not cut out for this lol my lord..
This guy is a danger at his current level of ability and shouldn't be driving solo if he is a rookie. If he isn't a rookie, he shouldn't be driving professionally at all.
DJ America that’s what they do, they solo you out even if you admit that you’re not ready
DJ America he isn’t driving professionally at all
You know that's right he does not have a truck and trailer to pay for
That's a owner op or lease truck. Gotta have at least two years for that unless he is a student
maybe its his first day alone hate how people think they started driving as pro knowing they started like that poor guy too
I graduated from school in October 2018, Got my first job March 2019 because I wanted a local job and found a desperate company.
Swift sends everyone out with a trainer for a month if they are a rookie. I started with swift, I never would have done this
I started out with Warner's and don't regret that.
Keeps pumpin his breaks losing his air dude dont need to be driving.

They're sick and tired of having Swift wreck their equipment. Laughing at them is just about the only alternative to shooting them.

@Jonathan MOORice awful cop. On private property they're required to write a report explaining who was at fault.
@Jonathan MOORice yes. You ACCIDENTALLY bumped the wall. Damage is not required for something to happen accidentally. I accidentally put too much fertilizer on my lettuce and it grew huge really fast
I'd be too cautious walking in front of that "driver". Definitely impaired.
I'm getting ready to drive for Swift. I used to drive for Central Refrigerated, I think Swift bought them. Anyway I been off the road for years and just now going back. wish me luck ppl

Wish you good luck... Just not with swift. Swift is really bad company
The drver that wouldnt move up a bit is a real piece of work but yes swift should have used way more room to swing in there
right @Kelly, but that is how it goes -- truckers only looking out for themselves and no one else -- it happens; yet we call them all kinds of nasty names tho
Bullshit, there was no need for him to move, and if he's got ELD then it could cause problems for him.
Snek is one of those spuit ass**l
I agree he should have never put himself in this position but the guy that wouldn’t pull up after he was out of truck is a jack wagon.
If he would have moved forward, Swift just would have hit the other truck on the other side, so no favor at all to pull forward.
If that was something that could not pull up or move what would you do
why does another parked truck need to move because his sorry ass can't figure out how to park?
knock on my door your going to hear "get the fu....oh wait..your swift? yeah, lemme move real quick"
Where I work if a driver is making a mistake they call a mentor to help, not bash the driver or laugh at the driver, they were all new once too.
All I see is that Swift wanted to park the easy way , they gotta learn how to park , lets help them either learn the way in or get the way out , its too dangerous for all to let them keep doing this thing
It can get very frustrating especially when all eyes are on you. I have that type of issue, I know what I'm doing and how to back but some old reason I get anxiety when I have folks watching lol.
me too. but i always go for the emptiest part of the truck stop and not the closest to the building because they always fill up first
That is the worst. I hate when I go to a shipper for a drop and hook then the yard dog is watching you.

I'm a 1.2 million driver with swift. This is poor training. No excuse for this!
Dude it's not the training it's 8ball rooster run!
It ain't the training, he's just fuckn stupid n lazy
He’s on drugs. Nervous as hell and doesn’t know what the F he’s doing. Bet he got terminated once he got to a terminal
You should be there training him then.
Shane Walton don’t make fun of him I don’t think he was on drugs I think he was just nervous and embarrassed like the rest of us rookies when we do something stupid lol
He clearly is not fit to be driving alone. He needs to drive with someone in order to ensure he is capable.
Of all the open spots in that truck stop, why in the hell did he choose that spot and that approach
It is what his trainer told him to do the week before.
The spot was fine, the approach was awful.
The Friendly Grumpy Trucker I
Obviously he was a rookie driver. Maybe he thought this would be a good opportunity to practice his backing skills. Bless his heart he just set up wrong from the start. I'm sure once he realized he was being recorded his nerves got the best of him. We all know when we are nervous we make mistakes.
LOL
Easy to criticize but I think drugs were involved here. It took him MINUTES to execute a simple maneuver then he'd just stop. Never got out once.
Many are nil brains without drugs.
i would have told the kid take a 5 minute breather, relax then move truck but that prick should have moved the truck and i would not criticize the kid just give him a few pointers, i was once a rookie so i know how it is remember a 30 year experienced driver can also make mistakes so a rookie def most likely will look out for our fellow truck drivers
atown Ish. Right on man, Thats a bully. A weak individual. Could of helped but instead made a video. Pathetic
I would not of moved teach him a lesson for the being stupid n lazy, be different if that was the only parking spot
Get ur shit right he was recording and helping him at the same time
TBH, maybe the guy just watched what this asphalt butcher thought was "a good idea" and decided he'd rather leave it at a bump to the back of his trailer rather than let him in the spot and risk his nose gets ripped off in the morning by Swifty's next bright idea....
What everyone forget they were a Rookie once up apon a time
Still never did dumb shit like that ever.
Rookie? This guy is a trainee without his trainer
That's like the first day of CDL school type of rookie.
Not about being new here its there is 1000 spaces he could of parked at and he choose to do that when I was new I avoided things I did not think I could handle you can learn all the same to back up when not around other people's vehicles .
difference is ,,,,now students are training students
Sir, GREAT JOB for helping this first time driver out of a bad situation. Have a great weekend!
The setup is everything when parking/backing
Funny part is I see a lot of "old" drivers can't park to save their life 😂
Yep that's why I started carrying the headcam around because two different times I helped oldetimers backing and they both hit parked trucks and tried to blame me.
sometimes new drivers are old guys
Sir you are a great person for helping this driver out.
Why was that spot so damn important when there’s tons of spaces to park. What the hell is this guy thinking
Because he is lazy and wanted to be close as possible to building. You can see the fuel island in front of Tribe's truck.
But I do take my hat off to the gentleman that did his best to help and guide a trucker in need
looks like he could use some new drive tires they look like slicks lmao
I hope if I'm ever in a situation where I need help that I will have someone willing to help out. Thanks for helping us rookies
Amazing that a SWIFT driver listened... Even more impressive, you had the patience to help him out... Most people give up when they realize they don't have enough crayons and paper to explain it...
Good job!!
Rookie move eventually he'll get better.
If he lives long enough..
Or that driver kills someone else..
This was poor training or poor learning. Not a rookie move.
@@carnissan6728 it's not a Pete. That's a kw
More rookie drivers are saying the guy on the left should have pulled forward, if he did, swift would have gladly taken out the hood of the volvo on the right, he definitely needs to learn approach.

get off the brakes kid. At least you helped the poor kid. He's scared out of his mind
I don't know where he learned to hold the brakes down so hard, bleeding them off then a couple times he tried to move but the brakes were set too. Totally flustered
scottied67 completely flustered. Too much open parking lot for whatever he was attempting.
Props to the cameraman for helping out this poor rookie driver , who made a rookie level mistake that didn't cause anyone any harm. Stuff happens , we were all Rookies once too
As a driver yourself you've got to know he can't hear you. Great directions.
when u have a son, you help him succeed by showing empathy.
My black yard co-worker, observing truckers, laughs and confides, "They think everything they believe in is out to attack them."
We are brought up with male privilege. We are given responsibility and must protect our load. We serve in this manner. But more importantly, we serve our greater good by protecting each other.
Good job new driver, he tried and will learn. I thought truck drivers were family Helping each other.
Thanks 👍
Nerves? He is beyond incompetent and a danger to all on the road. Shame on Swift !
You make truckers look abf give them a break
He made a mistake i don’t think he should lose his license for it
jacob bostic he is high af. There is absolutely no reason to be in a spot like that and go into your sleeper and close the curtains
Dude had all those large spaces to park it wasn’t a mistake it was poor fucking judgment. When I first started I wasn’t even ready to to do backs so I practiced at my terminal and large parking lots until I learned.
That was no mistake no excuse
What is he going to do when he dose have to make that turn in the big city's and old towns something to eat on
Ur right driver we all have maid a mistake or 2 sometime.I still do sometimes and I been driving 4 10 yrs but that's how we learn when u feel like u no everything it's time 2 get out of the truck!!
Looks like a new driver, driving like he is in a car and not paying mind to the trailer
😂 he wasn't even backing in. That makes it far worse
I’d like to see more drivers helping out rookies and assisting them with getting out of tight spots. It’s easy to forget how tough it is starting out.

Then why is he driving a JCT truck?
they are new drivers why can't anyone understand that just help them out

We're not on another company's payroll to train their incompetent drivers, or accept the liability of helping them.
Because of the cool word, Liability. You try to help someone out and they hit something and they might try to pin it on you and say you're liable for the damages, And you usually don't want to get that close to someone who obviously has no idea what they are doing, This is just my opinion though, And I am not a trucker.
Good for the guy helping him out. We all needed help sometime when we started out. Hoping the driver learned something
There's something wrong with a new driver that wants to pull in where the "big boys" do. If it's not on drugs or over-tired, then he's got an inferiority problem. When i started, I was always guilty of finding the easiest place to park. And when I got better, I'd still look for the easiest.
Absolutely, always make things as easy as you can for yourself.
Difference between proffesional and amateur is. Pro always looks for easiest way and rookies try to be tough guys. What surprises me is that some of them never come out of truck to check when they back up in dock for loading and smash walls instead..

There's just no excuse for that!
"Swift Trans Co. of Arizona" Well, guess I know where not to go for training if I decide to do this.
NOT an accident!!!. Accidents are caused by unforseen circumstances , not deliberate stupidity!!!
The whole video I'm screaming
" what are you doing!?!?"
Why doesn't the guy just drive around the block and drive FORWARD into a parking spot away from the other trucks???? O.M.G!!
Poor guy has no business in a truck

A lot of new guys do this they’re scared to back in so they try to pull forward into a parking spot
It wasn’t Swifts fault, it was all the trucks that were there parked. They should of moved out the way🤣

I have a feeling the guy was a new student and his trainer was sleeping in the back and he just decided to pick a spot that he don't know how to park in because he don't want to walk too far to the truck stop.
“Whatcha you doing Swift?” 😂😂😂

T Loc oh I love when the yard jockeys tell me to just drop my trailer in them tiny crammed yards in Newark. In a stretched out truck so those places are a pain. Haven't hit anything yet thankfully.
I'm a yard jockey and sometimes just tell drivers to drop because they can't follow directions without a GPS lol
T Loc lol, dam driver
My criticism is for the guy making this video. Before contact occurred why not at least “make contact” with the driver and attempt to help them out?
In the seconds before he hit I waved my hands but he could not see me since the fixed parked object was blocking his view.
Peace and safe travels to you sir.
he needed better video
I remember 10 years ago when I started my career as a HGV/CDL driver . Having the support of everyone was an amazing and helpful experience . Is not easy when you start with a new licence and nobody wants to give you a job . Without help by the time you get the 2year experience you easily have 3 or more accidents and then no one will take you because you are a liability. Help is not that hard it only takes a little effort but gives giants rewards
Man that's just scary how someone that bad off at maneuvering is given a truck solo. Looks like he could have used at least another month of training to at least get basic turns and backing in order. Someone wanted him off their truck BAD!
lol
qazme and ALL THAT ROOM.
Not all swift drivers are like that. like any company, you have people that just isn't ready or he could just be tired. but he is a owner.
Aleko Cook Thats not an owner. Its a company truck.Owners have "leased to swift" on the side.
MrLouisiana17 not all have that. I am a owner op and i still have the swift decal on the side. It depends on the owner. But judging by the skill setting, he may still be in training. That was a student mistake. In time he will figure it out. We all must start somewhere
Wanna know what I find funny? Folks laughin about that sort of thing and forgot they were once not very good at this.folks learn get better at the judgements etc.. most everyone until then are rolling death machines.
Amen!
This guy still needs to be with a trainer. I'm not sure how he even passed a CDL test. There's no excuse for what he's doing.
Anthony Poole I’m laughing so hard because I never had fucked up it’s called proper training and common sense
I would HATE to see this guy in the tight streets of Chicago
I know right?
Brent W I would hate to see this guy at night when the truck stops really full..... ain't nobody can help him then
They need to keep him far away from NYC
Steven Mendez
Steven Mendez : Thats exactly where they DO send new drivers.
Yep
