    Hey man! Love to see this! Caught some Bass last night on the 803 MBR to celebrate the launch! It's been a long time coming.

    Good evening sir, thank you for making this video. It was very informative. This summer i managed to break 3 imx pro 853CJWR rods. Everyone at the same spot. It was my go to worm rod, and i found it worked well throwing a 3/8 oz dark sleeper when we were smallmouth fishing. Given that i had so many issues with the imx line is there a glx rod you recommend over another to take its place?

      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Sorry to hear about the rods. I honestly have never broken a Loomis unless something happened to it to compromise it. The IMX pro line is just as tough if not tougher than the GLX line. GLX however is lighter and crisper. For a bait like the dark sleeper in that weight you can get away with both a medium and a medium heavy blank. The 852C, 853C, 892C and 893C will all be good options. If you use braid I would go with the 2 power, if you like to use straight Fluoro I would up to the 3 power. All of these are JWR models.

      @JPDeRoseOutdoors yes it was quite odd. I own quite a few loomis rods, including other imx rods, and have never had an issue. Bad batch of blanks? Who knows 🤷‍♀️. Thanks for the information, too. Other than casting distance, have you noticed any advantage to an 89 vs. the 85? Thank you again. ❤️

    Can you Compare the 852c jwr between the nrx+ and glx? Especially when it comes to bottom contact methods and feedback.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The NRX+ are made with Spiral X so they are a touch lighter and they also have a completely different guide train with the hybrid recoil and SIC guide train which helps with the overall weight of the rod. Both are very sensitive and have great balance from what I have experienced.

    Hi JP, which model/length NRX Drop Shot would you recommend? I fish from a kayak. Thanks!

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The NRX + 822S DSR is the drop shot model in the line up. That would probably do you the best. That model is available in NRX, GLX, IMX Pro and GCX

    @Shawn_Lai 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How is the 891S compared with the 892S? Can the 891S throw finesse tubes or is it best for small swimbaits? Weight is usually 1/8 to 3/8. I have both NRX+ 901 and 902, but would love some more backbone in those rods, which is why i am looking at the GLX.
    It would be great if you could show the tapers and actions of the rods in your videos. That is something most social media lacks (other than Omnia who is starting to do it).

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely more backbone on these especially compared to NrX 901 and 902 which are very parabolic. For 1/8-1/4 the 891 is perfect. Anything 1/4 and up to 5/8 I prefer the 892. Just has more backbone for driving that hook home.

    Curious to see how the 901 SJR compares to the 891 JWR

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you are comparing the 901 NRX+ it is far more parabolic than the 891. I like the 891 for its soft tip and faster action.

    What would you suggest for pitching or swimming jig up to 1/2oz? One for fluro and one for straight braid.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would go with the 894C JWR. If you want a little softer tip with more abrupt shut off back bone the 904C MBR

    I’m looking for a Loomis home for a Sustain FJ. Smallmouth rod. With so many choices, I don’t want the wrong bass rod. I’m casting small artificial bait. Looking for fewer, bigger smallies. Thoughts?

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lots of options there. A couple of more details would help me dial in the best option for you.
      What weight baits are you throwing? What line on test and type are you using on this setup?

    Hi JP, love your content. These new GLX look amazing but a bit too much for me. I just grabbed a Expride 7’3” XH for frog and some heavier flipping/pitching. Would you recommend curado 200M or mgl 150?

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For frogging I would go with the 200 M for the extra line capacity if you’re a big caster

    Always loved the Glx line. I just wish Loomis would bring back the 6ft 8in heavy jwr rod. In Glx or nrx. I hate buying used rods AND because if they break, you can’t replace that exact model since it no longer exists. I probably have a combined 16 loomis rods including conquests. BUT I really wish they would bring that particular application back. It’s my favorite for skipping jigs and other baits.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The rod models depend on their performance in the previous generation. That dictates which models are made and it’s possible that model did not sell enough. Not sure

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very close actually. I haven’t precisely tested them but none have felt heavy. The guide train would practically be the only difference in weight when comparing the REC guides to the Fuji K SiC combo in the top half of the rod

      By way of OMNIA provided weights and one I personally weighed myself the other day ( GLX 822S SYR @ only 3.0 oz 😮 ) they are every bit as light as the NRX+ line - I was shocked!

    Im liking the top handle design on the spinning. Its shorter than the current nrx/conquest. I prefer the thinner top handles that taper on the spinning, like the gen 1 megabass orochi whipsnake. I like to feel the blank holding over the cork....like the legend aaron martin did.
