The Family album is probably one of the most underrated albums of all time. It’s filled with classics. I love that gatefold. Mutiny is killer when Prince performs it live. Awesome Bowie title. Bill never disappoints!
This was the first album I picked up yesterday at Bill's.. It is amazingly great ! I might lay- off from Bill's for awhile as I have a new honey hole over at Ted's House !!! He's cutting loose with some of his records !
That Judee Sill album reminds of the time that I was invited to look through about five thousand albums. This was by appt. inside a small warehouse. The owner couldn't remember where the album was amongst the piles. He mentioned about the album was his favourite to listen to. After a couple of hours, I found it and he played it. Glad he did cause I has never heard of it. He rewarded me with a few free albums. Thanks for sharing.

Hope so.. We do need to box these records ! Terry's ex wife is a dear friend of mine. I could use a copy of Seed Of Memory, Lynn won't cut loose with her records from Terry, and I don't blame her ! I think that the US press is the one to have from "River".. It was finished in LA.. anyway. He started recording this one with Eddie Offord in London.. ( 1973 ). Thanks, Dale !
Hurray, time for another trip to Bill's Garage, the place that keeps on giving! Wow, they really have done a great job of restoring Reno as we keep seeing in your videos, beautiful city! I need that Starfish album from The Church, I can't seem to find anything by them around here. Nice Two-fers from The Who, I have that 2nd one you showed, just picked it up a few months ago. That one by The Golliwogs is one I've never seen anywhere, it seems to be a hard one to find, but I guess a lot of people didn't know of them since it predated CCR. Excellent finds with Bowie and John Lee Hooker...wow, and The Dead! Very nice. Great finds!
The lead singer of Bad Manners, Buster Bloodvessel went to my school, Woodberry Down in Stoke Newington Hackney. I crossed paths with him a number of times, he was 6 years younger than me and was quite a character even at 11 years old! He got his stage name from Ivor Cutler in the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour film!

Space Oddity is really good. Memory Of Free Festival is stellar. I got a few of the recent John Mayall reissues of those 60's albums. Damn!! Hi JT. I think I enjoy the trip to the destination as much as the destination itself ... The pick of the records for me is Terry Reid 'River'. I wish I'd bought the reissue on Light In The Attic. I kept waiting in vain for it to come down in price. I saw Terry Reid live just a few years ago, and he was still in good voice.

Hi JT - a nice collection again. Good to see you picking up Terry Reid: River. I have most of his albums on CD. I noticed you left behind a John Renbourn album?? Hope you're going to pick that up next time around? As for T Rex - sorry lolol. In the late 60's early 70's T Rex were the last band we were listening to lolol. John Peel had helped Mark no end in the early years of Tyrannosaurus Rex - Bolan and band had stayed with John and his wife when touring and they were close friends. That unfortunately ended when Bolan took T Rex's latest single at the time (forget which song it was) to John to review. John didnt like it, and told him so - Bolan never spoke to John ever again. That hurt John immensely, and sadly they never got their friendship back again - Bolan died some time later. That says a lot about Bolan I think - all he wanted was the glitter, the glamour, the fame and the money. OK - T Rex had a couple of catchy songs, but they dont rate with me at all. Just my humble opinion that's all. Take care Cya Doug

My good friend Lynn was married to Terry from 1971 til the late 70's. She was with him during the recording of " River". I still speak to her and she lives in Grass Valley, Ca. I met Terry twice with her at The Joint" in LA wile Terry and Jack Tempchin were running a weekly open mike night every Monday for several years ! ( 2002 ).

Dead Reckoning was the first CD I ever bought in 1986. It was called For the Faithful on Arista/Pair. I've never read anything about why they re-issued the album, changing the name from Reckoning to For the Faithful. Weird. I have that Dance Craze soundtrack! "Nothing wrong with being fat, is there? Lip Up Fatty!"....lol.....for some reason that's the song I always think of when I think about that album.

@@jtsrecordroom3963 yes, I have Vintage and Historic. Listening to Vintage now. Seems like I'm hearing a lot of Phil singing with Jerry and Bob on this.....lots of organ too. The song-list for Vintage looks much stronger than Historic but as we know the setlist doesn't really matter it's how it's played that matters. I have that director's cut of Woodstock - has the leather or buckskin fringe around the box. Seems like I read somewhere that they asked Tim Hardin to perform first but he looked out at 300,000 people and said "no way"....lol...or something like that...But Richie was fearless...Hardin did perform later on, I think.
Like The Family album ..Prince wrote Nothing Compares 2 You for them & released it in 1985. Many think he wrote it for Sinead which is not the case. Put a few bills on the Lions 🦁 to win the super bowl 🏈 ..Probably have to beat SF to get to Vegas !

He was a DJ in Northern California in the late 1980's and through the 90's. These are all thrift records for a dollar or less a piece from Reno/ Sparks Paradise, Ca. and Chico, Ca. He would thrift and then bring these in studio for his radio show ! Bill prefers his Cd's these days.. Way more than the vinyl. He has some triples and doubles.. Can't guarantee the condish until having a closer look.
Yep ! Here in the lower 48. The Christmas hype starts before Thanksgiving nowadays ( Nov. 23 ). I have two "River" now.. Really want Seed Of Memory on vinyl.. Terry's ex wife won't let go of her copy, and I don't blame her at all !

I take it the KISS Alive! wasn’t in great shape. 😢 To me it’s my favorite KISS album for both the music and the personal memories it brings. My original copy from the 70s is a mess but I still think of it as a favorite in my collection. Fortunately I found a 1st pressing in ‘minty’ condition that I play.

@MD-wk3gj It's really a good one.. In 1976, I was already 19.. KISS wasn't of interest to me, then. It's taken me this many years to enjoy and discover the depth of their catalog. The VC has helped me get it, with all of the guys 6 to 12 years younger than me.

Gram Parsons on Shiloh Records 1979 Self- Titled is one of them, and an OG of "Sleepless Nights" in the shrink for another. That would be cool if you were here to pick at Bill's.. We could do some major damage !

Space Oddity is really good. Memory Of Free Festival is stellar. I got a few of the recent John Mayall reissues of those 60's albums. Damn!! Hi JT. I think I enjoy the trip to the destination as much as the destination itself ... The pick of the records for me is Terry Reid 'River'. I wish I'd bought the reissue on Light In The Attic. I kept waiting in vain for it to come down in price. I saw Terry Reid live just a few years ago, and he was still in good voice.

Never seen that John Mayall LP, looks interesting. Grateful Dead's Reckoning is another on my list. Wish Bill did mail order, ha ha! Pretty sweet Space Oddity and Reckoning. Ive been lookingbfor that Dance Craze. It came out on reissue a few years back for RSD. Looks like a treasure trove with booby traps.

As for T Rex - sorry lolol. In the late 60's early 70's T Rex were the last band we were listening to lolol. John Peel had helped Mark no end in the early years of Tyrannosaurus Rex - Bolan and band had stayed with John and his wife when touring and they were close friends. That unfortunately ended when Bolan took T Rex's latest single at the time (forget which song it was) to John to review. John didnt like it, and told him so - Bolan never spoke to John ever again. That hurt John immensely, and sadly they never got their friendship back again - Bolan died some time later. That says a lot about Bolan I think - all he wanted was the glitter, the glamour, the fame and the money. OK - T Rex had a couple of catchy songs, but they dont rate with me at all. Just my humble opinion that's all. Take care Cya Doug

My good friend Lynn was married to Terry from 1971 til the late 70's. She was with him during the recording of " River". I still speak to her and she lives in Grass Valley, Ca. I met Terry twice with her at The Joint" in LA wile Terry and Jack Tempchin were running a weekly open mike night every Monday for several years ! ( 2002 ).

Dead Reckoning was the first CD I ever bought in 1986. It was called For the Faithful on Arista/Pair. I've never read anything about why they re-issued the album, changing the name from Reckoning to For the Faithful. Weird. I have that Dance Craze soundtrack! "Nothing wrong with being fat, is there? Lip Up Fatty!"....lol.....for some reason that's the song I always think of when I think about that album.

That "I Know You Rider" and "It Hurts Me Too" is amazing from Avalon Ballroom shows..1966. Jerry is on fire ..Might as well call him Jerry McLaughlin , or Jerry Di Meola !! Haha.. He rips through those two songs like it's swiss cheese !

@@jtsrecordroom3963 yes, I have Vintage and Historic. Listening to Vintage now. Seems like I'm hearing a lot of Phil singing with Jerry and Bob on this.....lots of organ too. The song-list for Vintage looks much stronger than Historic but as we know the setlist doesn't really matter it's how it's played that matters. I have that director's cut of Woodstock - has the leather or buckskin fringe around the box. Seems like I read somewhere that they asked Tim Hardin to perform first but he looked out at 300,000 people and said "no way"....lol...or something like that...But Richie was fearless...Hardin did perform later on, I think.

Did Bill use to own a r3cord store or was he just a prolific collector. Does he have a lot of doubles and triples in the collection ?
He was a DJ in Northern California in the late 1980's and through the 90's. These are all thrift records for a dollar or less a piece from Reno/ Sparks Paradise, Ca. and Chico, Ca. He would thrift and then bring these in studio for his radio show ! Bill prefers his Cd's these days.. Way more than the vinyl. He has some triples and doubles.. Can't guarantee the condish until having a closer look.
Is it Christmas in the casinos already? There is a lot of gold in this batch. You don't see that Terry Reid record very often.
Yep ! Here in the lower 48. The Christmas hype starts before Thanksgiving nowadays ( Nov. 23 ). I have two "River" now.. Really want Seed Of Memory on vinyl.. Terry's ex wife won't let go of her copy, and I don't blame her at all !

To me it’s my favorite KISS album for both the music and the personal memories it brings.
My original copy from the 70s is a mess but I still think of it as a favorite in my collection. Fortunately I found a 1st pressing in ‘minty’ condition that I play.
Yeah.. Unfortunately, KISS Alive ! is not in good condish. I will have another look at it, and will probably buy it anyway.. Especially if the vinyl id in VG + or better shape ! Thanks for checking this one out.. I do appreciate it !

@MD-wk3gj It's really a good one.. In 1976, I was already 19.. KISS wasn't of interest to me, then. It's taken me this many years to enjoy and discover the depth of their catalog. The VC has helped me get it, with all of the guys 6 to 12 years younger than me.
