We cruised 3 WEEKS on “FREE” Casino Comps (THIS is what we REALLY spent $$$)

  • We talk through how much money it took to sail Three Weeks on Casino Complimentary Cruises on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line as well as reach Prime Status in the Club Royale Casino which Royal Caribbean cruisers onboard their caribbean cruises. How much money did we win and did we end up losing money? Number one way to save money is not gambling in the casino but many cruisers try to save money by reaching a Prime Status on Royal Caribbean which give you both Free Drinks in the Casino for every cruise for at least the next 12 months and complimentary cruises as well. Are cruise passengers easy targets as travelers? Should you take the word of fellow cruisers onboard cruise ships regarding casino comped cruises? Should you gamble in the casino on a cruise? How much money does it take to hit Prime Status on Royal Caribbean? Is gambling on cruise ships safe? This is the latest cruise news in tandem across the cruise industry where all cruise lines are making cruise cutbacks for cruise passengers onboard cruise ships during 2024 and we were surprised by how much it took for us to reach Prime Status on Royal Caribbean while onboard our Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships! What do cruise lines do for casino patrons who are cruising and spending enough money in the casino? How do Cruise Ship Crew treat casino cruise passengers? Are cruise ship passengers okay with cruise lines casino promotions to get people to gamble more? We talk through our verified experiences of cruising on 4 side to side cruises through our casino comps, how much we spent onboard, and how much we spent to get Prime Status on these Royal Caribbean Cruises. You could reach Prime Status on your next Royal Caribbean Cruise and receive free drinks as well as a complimentary cruise while onboard all Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships including the worlds largest cruise ship Icon of the Seas or soon to be Star of the Seas 2025, and even the worlds smallest cruise ships. This could happen onboard many cruise ships whether on the Worlds Biggest Cruise Ship Class; or, the Smallest Cruise Ship Class and every Cruise Ship in between. What are your thoughts in our inside cruise chat on how much we spent on our Caribbean Cruise Ships 2024?

    Excellent video! There needs to be more content about "casino deals" and the true cost. You guys got an incredible deal at the end of the day.
    We have a 15-day Transatlantic on Carnival next year with free drinks everywhere for "free" besides port fees, etc. If you play smart, you can get fantastic offers.
    Well done y'all!

    We just got off the Sun Princess on a casino comped interior cabin. Too small for us. However. After racking up over 10k point each in the casino (we had some good hits too). We each received a balcony cabin with 600 free play for 15 days pretty much anywhere. I don't think there was any mention of free drinks. However, we did receive a beautiful bottle of wine and a fruit and cheese platter in our cabin on night 4.
    We're already booked on a 14-day HAL cruise from Athens to Rome, including the Adriatic. Free drinks in casino and $300 free play.

    I have not paid for a cruise on Carnival for the last 7 years. I have to pay taxes and a $200 deposit but I get a $200 onboard credit. I have won on the majority of them or at least break even. So many factors go into the free cruises, but the longer you play in the casino really increases your chance of getting the casino offers. Sea days are my gamble days...LOL

    Generally we travel on casino comped cruises. Our most recent was a 28 day Amazon thru Holland America. What type of room were you in? What were your points at the end of 21 days? We find that our cost is similar to yours--but some comped cruises do not include drinks, so we pay extra for the drink package or for drinks outside of the casino. We also frequently upgrade the cabin to a balcony if we are offered a free inside or oceanview. The other big ticket item is transportation to the cruise port--there are lots of free cruises in Australia, South America, and Europe but airfare is so expensive. Another expense is excursions or meals when getting off of the ship--did you do any excursions or spend any money in port on your 21 days at sea? So--the cruise really isn't free at all--but definitely better than paying full price. And of course there is the gambling budget--$748 is VERY low, but congratulations on the wins!

      Isn’t the $748 the amount of money lost in the casino? not bankroll.

    Comped many times on Celebrity. Have always upgraded from inside or balcony to concierge or aqua class. Still, even with casino losses (and some wins) the results vs actual regular cruise costs have been very good. Of course that begs the question of whether we would have taken the “free” cruises anyway. We are big fans of Celebrity.

    I’ve taken 7 cruises in the last year, all from comped casino cruises. I’ve been on MSC, Royal, Celebrity, and Virgin. Couple cruises I have come out ahead by winning in the casino. I do it cheaply and do not buy anything extra like food, drink, shore excursions. Last years best cruise was an 18 night trans pacific cruise on Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas from Sydney to Honolulu. All were minimum ocean view balcony, a couple were Jr. Suite. I’ve had internet on a couple that were comped but again, I try to do it cheap and only pay port fees and taxes and with my job, I travel extensively so I use miles or vouchers for flights and points for hotels before and after cruise and if a rental car is needed, i use my free days. LOVE cruising for free!

    You can go on these cruises with just the taxes/port fees and gratuities. But even if you spend extra above that, you still go cheaper than you would normally if you gamble anyway. The first free cruise I won, I didn’t even know I was winning it until I got home. So gamble for fun and be smart about it.

    Thank you for the breakdown Jordan. My very first cruise was an 18 day reposition cruise on Royal. I wandered into the casino on day 3 and won about 1000 dollars. The next day 500 and so on until I had won well over 3000 dollars. Lady luck was with me on that cruise! I received lots of free cruises after that. My friend and I went on a free cruise every month for about 6 months. I will reiterate your point though, it is very easy to get in over your head in a casino. Set yourself a daily budget and stick to it!

    We get casino comp cabins several times a year. I just booked two for 2025. We also upgrade our cabin to OVB on most. This is usually a few hundred dollars. Still, it is $600/$800 saving per person per cabin. I want to cruise, so any discount is good. I need to self-control the gambling. Love the Club Royal program.

    I just got back from Alaska on my first Royal Caribbean cruise and I also hit Prime status in the casino. I was lucky enough to hit two jackpots and was able to cover the sea pass bill at the end of the cruise along with everything I spent at the ports, and I still had money left over that I brought home. I had cruised with Carnival previously with casino deals (so this l was the first cruise I paid full price for in a while) but now I understand why the saying “loyal to Royal” exists… the loyalty programs are unmatched.

We didn't get free drinks in the casino but as elite we get happy hour drinks each day. We did buy the non alcoholic drink pkg as I am a big specialty coffee and Evian and San Pellegrino water drinker. So with port fees, taxes, gratuities, travel insurance, and non alcoholic drink pkgs we have laid out $1219.82. And we usually bring 1000.00 for the casino. We'll see how we do. Good info but missing hte most important number. How much Play Through (or cash in) did you have to do to get to the top tier? Play through (cash in) is the amount of cash gambled (your money plus winnings put back) total. So if you say you lost $700, did you play through 10K? Without that we really don't know enough as to how you earn free cruises, etc? Also, is there a play through to get a cruise offer while onboard (which you seem to have done 3 times out of the 4)? Please do a follow up where you let us know. I know with MSC to get a free cruise the play though is 30k (10k points x $3 to earn a point).

    Do you guys tip in addition to the prepaid gratuities? I often wonder what the average person does for stateroom attendants and main dining so I can compare to what I do. Also, do you have Royal cruises where you don't gamble at all or do you play every time? Were the free cruises casino cruise certificates or were they sent as marketing email offers?

    • @JJCruise
      @JJCruise  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes - we always do. We tip in cash and didn’t write down how much we tipped in cash throughout the weeks at sea, so that isn’t configured into this. We also tip the casino bartenders $1 per drink we get.
      Yes- they send marketing offers through the mail and we will play if we are on a casino comps. If it’s a sailing we paid in full for, we will not play.

      But look at what you are spending in cash to pay for your cruise. You’re losing out. Find the cheapest cruise you can, 4-5 nights or longer, don’t care what ship it’s on, don’t care where it goes, and play heavily in the casino. You’ll never have to pay for a cruise again.

    For informational purposes, the gambling result is no where near as important than the coin-in. It doesn't tell us how much gambling you have to do to get the comped cruises. The real important information is how much did you cycle through to get the points.

    Thank you in advance for any answer you can give me to explain my confusion I thought you need 2500 points can you get one point for every $5 in gambling the map tells me $5 * 2,500 is 12,500 dollars that you would have to gamble to make the 2500 points am I missing something also when you get the 2500 points how many nights of cruising do you get for that 2500 points

    • @pewing99
      @pewing99 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes you do need to do the $12,500 cash in, but the thing is that you will hopefully get multiple line hits or small to medium bonus games along the way to keep playing. I like to play older style games like Pinball and Top Dollar or other three reel machines that will return your bet amount every 4-6 spins with occasional bigger wins and some jackpots. The big flashy games with the firecrakers, pigs, or pots are fun, but need a much bigger bankroll to play because they are highly volitile with few decent line hits but fairly infrequent bonus games paying big.

    • @pewing99
      @pewing99 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@truthalways8071 Royal posts a sign with a list of point levels. Say you earn the 3000 points on one cruise you will get an oceanview or balcony cabin and $250 FreePlay on the comped cruise. You will have a list with 12-15 pages of cruises to choose from around the world. Free cabin offers usually start around 1500 points I think. In addition to the bounceback cruise, you will also start receiving emails and postcards with more free offers that you can take. These are usually 4-7 day cruises from US ports but occasionally have international trips as well. Then you can parlay these offers by signing up with a service like URComped or Casino Players Club and send them the Royal offers. They can then use those to get you matching offers on other cruise lines and land casinos.

      The cruise lines don’t give free cruises to TH-camrs (most of the time). Out of 80 cruises we’ve received a total of 2 comp’d cruises for being TH-cam promoters. We have received about 6 discounted (but not free) cruises for being travel agents, but as much as we are traveling - we have to get creative.

    It seems to me that in order to get 2500 points @ $5 = 1 point, you would have to put $12500 through the machines. For the 2 of you that would mean you had to put $25000 through the machines. Now, if I’m right, true transparency would have been the amount of money you put through and your total returns not just the 2 bonuses you mentioned.

      I'm seeing people online that say the slots at least are posted as paying back 80%. A lot of people online are quoting their numbers at like 85~90%... So if all of that is to be believed, to get Prime status and a free cruise you can expect to put in anywhere from $1250 to $2500

    • @JJCruise
      @JJCruise  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Laurie, of course- everyone must play through 12,500 to reach prime, but you win and lose the entire time you’re playing. You may put (1) $100 bill in and play on it for hours before losing and get 1,000 points OR you could put (1) $100 bill in, win nothing and only get 20 points. We shared exactly what we spent, it’s impossible to try and track dollar by dollar and what each dollar gets you in terms of points. Hope that helps!

    • @corvus0
      @corvus0 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I came back to my math on this based on your reply (because I agree - you can put in $100 and play for awhile)
      It turns out at 80% returns that the points come out 1:1 dollars to points. If you put in $100, you can expect to get $500 of play out of it, which equates to 100 casino points

      The casino will provide you with a gambling income form when you hit a hand pay and they will file it with the IRS. You can request a profit and loss statement from the casino club (Club Royale on Royal) to offset the hand pay when you file your income taxes.
