    It's great to see someone so excited about my line of work! I'm very surprised Magna was willing to let that much be recorded. But I'm thankful for your access, that was a treat.

    Great video Kyle!!! I'm hoping these kinds of videos inspire many young Americans to look at engineering or manufacturing as a career. My dad has worked at a tool and die company for over 40 years. Luckily for me I got exposed to this industry as a young kid so I've always had an appreciation for all the hard work that goes into getting parts out the door. Really is a fascinating business to be in and one that not many young people want to be in. If you're interested though, many tool and die companies are looking to recruit talent straight out of high school. They'll 100% pay for your schooling while paying a livable wage during your apprenticeship. Once your apprenticeship is done, you're easily looking at $70-80K as a starting wage.

    Ground breaking work Kyle, You are teaching the old and new generation of the new Tesla EV age instead of the Henry Ford ICE vehicle age.

    Watching someone with no machining background go through a high precision machine shop. I had to chuckle a little bit seeing how special that room is and having Kyle not fully realize how cool that room was.

      @@user-js6wh7jb6p That's like saying surgery is just based on anatomy. While true, there is so much more to it than that. There are no wood lathes in that shop, they're making high precision complicated parts with multiple setups. Some of which I'm sure were designed by designers/engineers that could use a refresher in DFM. Make sure to give them the credit they deserve.

    • @-Enginerd
      @-Enginerd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-js6wh7jb6p It sounds like you're in the right line of work then. I made race car parts for years using Mastercam and often found it very difficult. Because of those experiences, I'm appreciative of those that make similar jobs look easy.

    Very impressive start to re-electrification! That electric F250 could make a much better work truck than a gas or diesel if it had a suitable on board charger. The available torque at the wheels may not be sufficient depending on how the truck is used. There are some applications for 100% battery but an on board charger would drastically increase marketability.

    Straight 6 big Turbo + that rear drive unit for a PHEV 2500 Truck would be a beast. Sadly I don't think any OEM is willing to create a Pickup that overkill.

    I'm very grateful to your channel giving us the breakdown but I have a serious question what are the advantages of building a vehicle with dual electric motors on different axles versus drivetrain transmission to electric motor no one really gets into the minutiae of this and I would like to know why is it done in this fashion

    • @ben3989
      @ben3989 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      its probably more efficient and mechanically simple to ha two smaller motors plus the advantage of controlling torque front and back with a motor vs a center differential
