Absolutely I'll be getting this and have already locked in my pre-order for the full bling package. Can't wait to get it, this a fantastic movie. Like always another stunning work of art from Second Sight it seems. Can't imagine it will be anything other than stupendous!

I would like to see a comparison video of this and the French 4K release because the French edition is from a different source I believe.
The art is decent but I think Second Sight is a bit too minimalist at times. That said, I'm definitely getting the Limited Edition for this one!!

This movie kicks arse. Duel is one of my Top 10 favs, but The Hitcher is basically that for the 80s. Rutger Hauer is just so scary in it. Brilliant villain and great atmosphere.

It was preordered immediately this afternoon because it’s going to get snapped up by every eager collector out there.
I think the build up to this release has built the Hitcher up to mythic proportions. It’s a fun movie, great action and some really great scenes. I hope you enjoy it, I’m sure you will.

I also wonder the copy of the original screenplay will be the either the final approved script or the original version that was rejected by the other studios because it was considered way too graphically violent ?
I imagine it’ll be the shooting script.
Amazon UK has the LE listed at £69.99 and standard 4K at £32.99. The Blu-ray is listed at £22.99. My advice avoid Amazon for this and order straight from Second Sight

Love this movie. If theres a special edition for the blu ray only thats the one im getting if not the standard blu ray will do me. I have the german digi book but to be honest thenpicture quality isnt really annprovement over my dvd copy. love this movie

Got the Ltd Ed ordered i have a feeling this is gong to sell out pretty quickly. Glad they have included "China Lake" it's only a short film but it is good starring Charles Napier which was last on the Momentum 2 disc DVD and it has also been downgraded from an 18 cert to a 15 cert. I saw this at my local Cannon cinema on its original release when I was 16
Sorry manvfilm but got to disagree with you. There's no glee or fun from the hitcher. Infact is it not the opposite? Is he not bored and desperate for an end to the repetitiveness of the killing. But for some reason he can't stop due to being a kinda 'spirit of the road' or some such thing. It's been a good few years since I've given it a watch so I'm very excited about this release. Great channel.
Oh yeah the character is absolutely done and wants to be stopped. But I feel that the film feels like it’s revealing in the carnage. That’s where the fun and glee comes from.
Yeah, spot on. Finger in the chips etc. Infact I could go so far to say it's 'side-splitting' but that might be a spoiler! lol.
Classic film, but I just can’t bring myself to spend £50 for a single film. Second Sight Films is a fantastic label but so are Criterion and Arrow and their 4K releases are substantially cheaper and the quality is always superb.

@@manvfilm I know. I just find their standard edition packaging bare bones compared to the competition. I just prefer what Arrow are doing these days. Their £21.99 Limited Edition 4K packages are great value as are Powerhouse Limited Edition 4K releases for £24.99. In comparison £50 is just tough to swallow for me but maybe you disagree.
