I first encountered this wonderful piece performed live by Alfred Brendel, a year or two before his passing. It was an impressive performance that I recall each time I hear this melody performed. I have to say though Dora that you surpass both Brendel and all others in embracing and conveying the subtleties and delicacies of tempo and energy of this melody, to elevate your performance and reveal the melody's enduring beauty in a way that is absent from so many other performances that all lose something by taking a path of too much vigour and pace. Thank you Dora for sharing your talent and this marvellous recital.
