I believe the valve body issue was a 2007 and early 2008 issue. As i believe that the tf80 was first used in 2007 updated mid 08'. Before 07 it was a5 speed aisin, or if you were unlucky enough to have a t6 the gm 4 speed which needs fluid changes about every 40,000 miles of not more
Can you tell me what's the hose that is located underneath the power steering pump pulley. Mine is cut short with a screw in the hose and a clamped end. Thanks in advance
My 2010 s80 v8 definitely is leaking what appears to be oil all over the underside, but even with the bottom cover removed, no drips in driveway and oil level doesnt drop. I dont think it is power steering because i recently flushed that and replaced it. The valve covers appear to have some seepage but nothing too concerning. Any ideas? Weird. Is there a sensor for low transmission fluid? Was thinking maybe the cooler lines are leaking but the oil seems to be coming from a higher point. Love this car too much.
Might be the timing cover leaking! Very common on those, as well as valve cover gaskets. Best to do it all at once! And there’s no sensor for low transmission fluid, it would set a code if there was issues!
I fell in love with the Volvo V8 as a Volvo technician when those engines were new. I’m happy to have one in my driveway.

Strut mounts are a P2 Volvo thing also.
ideally, these xc90s should be RWD to avoid these issues

Is the maintenance expensive on the v8's?
