Another aspect of life after that I came to know the people connected to me for their vested interest vanished as they thought I was no use for them. I am a hemorrhagic stroke survivor since 2013. Now I am 64. I have learned a lot of lessons after my stroke. Most of the time, I spend is at home. Thanks to the internet and TH-cam, I found people like you because only the wearer knows where the shoes pinch. we are wearing the same shoes and can understand one another emotionally.

I am an advocate by profession. Before joining this profession, I voluntarily retired from my government job. but fate wanted otherwise. After one and half months of my retirement, I had a hemorrhagic stroke on Monday 16th September. 2013. As the song goes rainy days and Mondays make me blue. To put it simply, now I am content in my discontent. A rainy day depress many people but the girl who was offered the shelter of an umbrella by a man whom she later married thinks that the rain is the most wonderful think of the world

Thank you Bill. This resonates with me because I was a proud paramedic, a first responder by nature and I had to come to grips with the loss of my identity as Dwayne the paramedic . Not to mention Dwayne the person. I felt like I needed to prove that my cognitive abilities were fine and although I physically couldn’t do much of anything.
I received so much support from my family, my work family and my cycling family that made my post traumatic growth much easier. I needed the encouragement and support without that key ingredient I’d not have worked so hard to achieve my goals. I’m reinvented 🙏🏻

listening to your words have given me strength it's almost a year since my stroke. cant feel the right side of my body spent 6 months in a nursing home and most of those i was in pampers .then i was sent home. living in a third world country isnt easy and most exercise that i see on youtube can not be done became it requires the use of your right hand so its not possible .not being able to move i regained walking a bit with my leg but without the use of my walker, made steps in the house, learned hoe to climb the stairs without help. went to the bathroom and had a seizure now i am back at stage 1 still trying to feel my legs on the ground . there was this inner voice telling me how to correct my faults. As lost as i am remember it's your body so there is always a different way to do same thing. l feel so lost and it it is your words that have given me purpose so thanks finally allowing me to embrace myself .

Thats when I got a stroke while at sleep to be foun3 days later still bleeding, Stembrain and Thalamus damage, hemiparese left side, cant walk lift anything, bladder is damaged, just suffering on a daily basis put into a nursing home with 55 years. Well I cant say thats the best thing its the worst thing ever happened in my life, it destroyed everything

i know your trying and maybe you genuinly are growing and evolving and supergreat for you. I got put into a nusing home too. i had a hemmoragic stroke too. I have changed I have had to question everything in my life. My parent has died. I been taking care of myself since leaving the nursing home. I dont have alot of support from anybody and for the most part i am now alone. Ive found nothing redemable about this stroke stealing my life. i am glad you have I havent. I wish you all the best. 😢

@@BillGasiamis i thank you for your kind words. We dont always have a big family to help or even care. My parent was who I was trying to help now that person is gone. Im finding the whole process hard. I train like im a top sports player, I put the time in. So Im not getting much benifit from having had a stroke like this. Im glad you are.

I suffered a stroke four months ago at the age of 43 and feel like my whole life has been turned upside down. My days are spent at home recovering or going to doctors and my many therapy sessions. Nothing about me is the same and I still feel deep sadness for all I lost.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. Four months into recovery is still early, and many stroke survivors continue to see progress for months and even years after. It's natural to feel sadness for what you've lost, but recovery can also mean finding new strengths and adapting in ways you may not have expected. Focus on small victories and know that support and progress can come with time. You're not alone in this journey, and there is hope for more improvement ahead.
