I once go reply from Linus once. I made the mistake of calling him out, using Maxine as a way to up views. He explained she is normally onset and it just makes sense, I apologized, In which he said it takes a big man to apologize. I still remember this. Still a fan till this day.
This is an example of humanity working. Healthy skepticism, explanation, understanding, good will. The respect I have for him and you is exemplary of how I wish the world would function. Good on you boys.

I admit I don't watch enough videos from this channel. I watch all the LTT stuff. So I was super surprised to see this come across my subscriptions. You all do amazing work getting these videos out for us and it's an amazing feat for me to see my favourite TH-camr in one of your videos. And Linus. TH-cam comments probably have the highest hit rate of any social media. Particularly on smaller channels. There's a Yu-Gi-Oh channel I watch a lot, and I get a reply from the creator almost every time. The only thing that even comes close is patreon.

Well, Linus, let me answer why some one like me likes to comment pretending that you'll read it. I know you won't read this, but that does not matter, because that's not the point. The comments aren't really for the youtuber. I do it for me, to vent and/or express my self. To formulate my own thoughts into words after watching a video. It's also for all of us, the commenters. Or at least that's the way I see it. I comment, but I also read the comments and I like to imagine that others that comment also read the comments for a bit, so I comment for the rest of commenters that may stumble upon my comment. I think that's why people get exited for getting a bunch of likes in a comment and some of them even come back and edit the comment to thank all the likes. And sure, I am addressing you, but not really, the youtuber is more like a catalyst for a message to the broader commenter base.
As someone who has a two-year old and three-year old nephew, I can totally see them watching a video of some random dude playing with a toy firetruck FOR HOURS. I already do that with them, but it's Hess trucks, or Bruder trucks, or this Amazon Prime show about talking firetrucks. They probably already watched that exact video.
As a small content creator, I read every single comment I get and often reply (if reasonable) or 💓 the comment if I like it. If you see neither, just know that I've seen it.
Definitely one of the best things about Linus is how down to earth and humble he is. He is clearly extremely passionate about technology and it shines through his videos. I can't wait to see what else his channel has to offer in the future.
@@gloriouslumi While I do agree, when factoring out kids and retirees and such, getting to 1 billon tech enthusiasts amongst the, what, 13-65 year-old population is a lot, it's a fun thought. Imagine half of that at 500 million people. That's 1 in14 of every person on the planet - and not even half the population of a couple of countries on their own. That doesn't seem so crazy all of a sudden. I'm not sure I believe it'll happen within 10 years (I know it was a joke as well), that would require some absolutely insane growth, but on the other hand there are already channels at 100 mil+.
I love how Linus remembers details about his early projects and the associated comments, not out of arrogance, but out of passion for what he does, I identify a lot with that.
Great crossover. I've been following LTT for a few years on TH-cam, but been reading the Ars site for so many years that at first I could only read it at work, because we didn't have internet at home.
As a former technician who worked in a fab repairing tools, I have to say the activity, the complexity and the sheer scale of semiconductor manufacturing is unlike anything else. If you are able to get a tour, I would go for it, no question at all.
I subscribed to the channel, I even clicked on a few sponsors to help support the channel, and I also bought about $100 worth of stuff off of LTT store all so Linus could have more socks with more sandals.

I’ve been in IT for almost 2 years now and channels like LTT are why I’m working on my CCNA and Net+ certs. Been building PCs since I was in high school in the mid 2000s and always a fan of tech. I got into the industry based solely on my hobby and now it pays my bills. Love LTT. Thanks Linus :)
