I've never been a domestic market vehicle lover. That being said, That color itself on this CT5 is gorgeous.. The price is good enough to give it a glimpse. Thanks Steve.
GM's OnStar will report every time you hit your breaks had, or accelerate hard. They sell the car cheap, so they can sell all your telemetry, to you insurance company. They purposely bury the SIM deep in the dash. It will cost close to $1000 to remove OnStar's SIM. Here in Texas, where we have 80 and 85 mph speed limits, they still tell your insurance you were driving 80. That will double your insurance....ask me how I know. They did this to me, on a 10 year old system, that was NEVER activated.
The plug in report card from Progressive Insurance rats you out also and you wouldn’t believe what they consider hard braking. My passengers say that they can’t feel me braking because I starry from so far away and leave so much room that you’d think I’m a trained chauffeur but Progressive’s chip thought I was always hitting the brakes too hard so I changed insurance companies years ago and I (knock on wood) haven’t had an incident in decades.

@michaeljohnson4947 I've heard about that!!! There's a class action suit about it, right? What absolutely cracks me up is the fact that after a certain "life saving measure totally unrelated to profits," was released in 2020, and life insurance payouts skyrocket by 100% p per year for 3 connective years, but THEIR rates actually decreased!!
@cuencaview8303 hopefully it works for the v6 but definitely does nothing for the 2.0 or the 10spd tranny. I think there's class actions against both. My best friend had a CT6 with TTV6 and the trans went out. They refused to cover it.
We went for the black on black 4 cylinder with the technology package, we live in an area with gas is way past $4/gallon, there is no need for AWD and the tech package brings a ton of cool things such as the head up display and the adaptative front lighting. Love the car so far, gives you so much for just 50k
Such a gorgeous car, such a great review. Short ‘n sweet - always appreciate that. Cadillac did backtrack exclusive EV portfolio plans for 2030 by the way.
That is a crazy good deal! Acura TLX Type S is $65K , and Audi gives you a 261hp 4-cylinder for $55K. However I saw a Lexus ES Hybrid with a sticker of about $50K...less performance but that superior quality and reliability is hard to ignore.
I picked a 2025 up 3 months ago for 44k. It has been an amazing vehicle thus far. One most see it and get in it. They'll often compliment. Cadillac did a good job with this one. Now I just have to hope for the longevity😂.
Wishing a bit more from that interior, otherwise a solid choice. Unfortunate that in this segment 'solid' doesn't sell cars so likely won't be seeing a new CT5 gen.
@@stevehammes Ah, ok. By the way, I bought a 2023 G70 3.3 RWD after seeing your reviews of the G70. Still really enjoying the car. It's terrific. 16K miles so far.
I love my (black on tan) 2023 CT5-V RWD. I would totally have gone with this colour had it been available in 2023 MY. I prefer the black-out chrome on the Sport and V trims but this car is still a looker.
Typical Cadillac shopper is a Limousine Company or the Elder. Another Limousine favorite is the Escalade. Old ladies and chauffeurs love the Cadillac as they have for over Seven Decades.
The problem with Super Cruise and all the other almost-but-not-quite full self driving features is that ultimately, the person in the driver's seat is responsible for the car. If the self driving function runs out of talent, the driver is expected to be able to take over and compensate. Of course, the result of letting the car do MOST of the driving is that the driver's attention and awareness are severely compromised, therefore his ability to react appropriately is severely compromised. It's WAY easier for me to just do the driving myself than it is for me to constantly be second-guessing the car's decisions. No thanks.
I hate screens in place of gauges, I can't get used to them. I know they're here to stay, but I just don't see any luxury in a giant screen. At least the CT5 still offers some buttons.
So I was in the market last year and was considering the ct5 but I did not like the infotainment center and thought if they just improved it then I would get one because I liked the design but the old infotainment looked like it was recycled from a Chevy. Needless to say I bought something else and then I saw that they were updating the infotainment to this new one. 😮should have waited
Rookie mistake saying Hey Google in your video. You changed 3 of my HVAC units to 74 degrees. They would have been running all day here in Chicago in late December.
Amazing car but I'm sure it'll be replaced by an electric one soon. The U.S. isn't set up for electric cars yet. Give me a charging station on every corner like gas stations then we'll talk.
Americans developed an aversion for sedans since decades and gm keeps on ruining the then great sedans .... But still there is a demographic that loves sedan ... Generally they are easier to make than jacked up crossovers ... What IAM thinking is Cadillac has amazing chasis ... Front longitudinally mounted engine and rear wheel drive default .. So why rhey cant use the platform and share it amongst buick or even chevy - and recreate legendary impala, malibu as mid and or full sized and so witu buicks .... Dont have to use aluminium all across ...use steel in Cadillac or buick ..doesnt matter...and put good old V6 Na emgine and option of manuals ....that would be great ....
The one thing that really bothers me about the CT5 is that black triangle just ahead of the C Pillar. It SHOULD have been glass. This is not even acceptable on a car half the price.

@@michaeljohnson4947 Wow!! Glad I never liked Domestic vehicles, at least enough to buy into them.. Thanks for the heads up. 👌
This caddy was built for Limousine company service, as was the Escalade. If u want to be a chauffeur, Cadillac is the way to go

@@michaeljohnson4947Do you think that is applicable to all cars with Onstar? I have a newer model Lexus and this made me curious
Wow. I'm blown away at the value. $55k is an amazing value for a fully loaded GM vehicle. Love the color! As long as the powetrain holds up.
Change the oil with the very best every 3000 miles. And never shut off the engine until the turbo cools for a few minutes after high speed driving.

Am in love with this new interior design
It’s looks very elegant
It's definitely a step up.

I hear that...as many OEMs are. Let's see.
Nice, seems like a balanced package and a good value, too. Gorgeous spec as well.
That’s a really nice color, too.
I like that car and color 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
A beatuiful car! Happy New Year!!
Thanks! Happy New Year to you too.
Steve, you set off my phone and tablet when you said, "Hey, Google!" 🤣
Same here! 😂
Ha!!! Sorry.
Happy new year Steve!! Thanks for your content all these years!! Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
We have a giant hole in the Cadillac line up the cancelled CT8 needs to be made.

Agree about the ES300h being a really strong competitor. Surprisingly, Genesis now starts G80 pricing at $58k!
You will spend way less on the Lexus ES for the maintenance than on the Cadilac later.

That’s actually a very nice sedan! Well done Cadillac
I love sedans
That color looks awesome in real life!

This CT5 is so gorgeous
Mmm, why not review the mid-line CT5V? Not the full blackwing, but still more interesting than the non-V CT5.
That's not what Cadillac had to offer.

Wow I’d buy this for sure
Beautiful
Have a black V series on order and hoping it arrives mid January. Trading in my 2016 XTS for something a little more fun but still Caddy.
Great thumbnail image!
Thanks! Fall is beautiful up here.
My Dad would have bought the Olds version of this in a heartbeat!
Mine too

‘Murica. Don’t forget, domestics also have the best convenience features. Auto start that actually heats the seats and gets the cabin nice.
One of my favorite sedans on sale, along with the Genesis G80. Would be hard to choose between the two if I had the money.....
So they dropped a movie theater in front of the driver 😂 I think the last model was better. Not a fan of too much tech in cars
So true. What does that late 80s Buick Riviera touchscreen look like today?
Typical Cadillac shopper is a Limousine Company or the Elder. Another Limousine favorite is the Escalade. Old ladies and chauffeurs love the Cadillac as they have for over Seven Decades.
I understand this 2025 model has new tech on the inside but the base price is $9,200 more than the 2024 model. That seems like a huge jump in price.
GM announced months ago that they’re not staying on the EV only coarse.

Should make global rhd versions... More sales in global markets...

Beautiful car! I love the CT6 but I wish it wasn’t such a unreliable and poorly built vehicle 😢

Ha!!! I'll try to be more careful!
If only the engine and transmission were reliable. Only problem
I get this same kind of comment on every review from every manufacturer so I guess we should just stop buying cars.
@stevehammes well I would tend to call them liar's lol. All my Lexus and acura were all great . Been rolling them 30yrs
gotta mute out the "hey, google!"
I am shock that Cadillac is still here.
😮🇧🇷 queremos no Br 🇧🇷🇧🇷👍🙏
Huh, No mention of fuel economy!
That’s the magic of video…you can see it.
That's the same price of a 2011-2016 BMW 5 M Sport when they first came out! Luxury and Sport is a beautiful combo!!! 😎
Its original customers still need a car because they cannot get into an SUV. People are living longer now and Lincoln gave up on them.
Cadillac would be ridiculously blind if they continued on the EV track. It’s not what America wants!!!
Some bargain, $50K for a car! Everything is overpriced.
Looks cheap for $56000. Who cares about apple car play just build a car I don’t have to fix.
Amazing car but I'm sure it'll be replaced by an electric one soon. The U.S. isn't set up for electric cars yet. Give me a charging station on every corner like gas stations then we'll talk.
Not a good replacement for my XTS. Truthfully, Cadillac hasn’t been itself since 1982. But that’s just me.

It’s still a GM product. For $55,000 I would invest the money on a Lexus or Acura.
The interior design is lacking, doesn't match the car's beautiful design, and seems boring.
The one thing that really bothers me about the CT5 is that black triangle just ahead of the C Pillar. It SHOULD have been glass. This is not even acceptable on a car half the price.
Two words: Extended warranty. You'll thank me later
Looks cheap.. General Motors builds the cheapest vehicles known to man, yet charges a huge price. Going all EV will put them out of business.
A huge price? Not for this one.
That is a sad and boring interior. Where's the visual luxury?
Unreliable, deprecation, it’s so ugly, it has no goddam name just letters and numbers 😂
Over priced
