    So it looks like at around 9:40 you have adopted Dr. Mike Marshall's arm action whereby the Latissimus Dorsi muscle is loaded and used to internally rotate the shoulder and forearm pronation is applied to the release of the ball. This internal rotation of the entire arm, wrist, and hand must be active and powerful. In doing so, the pitcher will simultaneously achieve maximum release velocity, ball spin, AND protect the back side of the elbow from damaging collision of the humerus and ulna bones. This is how a baseball should be driven from first acceleration toward the plate and through release. Good.

    @yougoprobaseball great work with Brent. I watch both of your videos often to keep up with new ways to train my pitchers. my question to you or Brent would be teaching this type of 3x extension to younger players? most of the kids I work with are between the ages of 9-12yrs old. my HS players I talk with them about this but I don't know if it is suitable for the younger players. your opinion?
    thx

    • @YouGoPro
      @YouGoPro  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      fabio milano I can’t speak for Brent, but yes, I think it’s not only suitable for them but beneficial as well. It just promotes proper use of the body and less stress on the arm. I have seen kids that age who naturally triple extend and they are usually the best and most efficient pitchers, IMO.

  • @Steve13lb12oz

    Definitely confused on the back leg. Pourciau is saying that the knee should stay outside and not collapse down and inside. However, Madden says that it’s important to really get into the back leg and abdicates the bucket drill which teaches you to drive out of an inside bent back leg. Seems to be contrary to one another. Sure seems that Nolan Ryan did the drop and drive method from the inside. Clarification please.

    • @YouGoPro
      @YouGoPro  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve Sheffield I think Brent and I are saying the same think except I believe you need to have good hip mobility to keep the knee inside the foot as opposed to staying stacked for too long. I hope that answers your question. If not, let me know I’d be happy to clarify.

    I have a question,
    Do lefties have to pronate? Because it messes my accuracy plus ot hurts my arm!

    • @YouGoPro
      @YouGoPro  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Charles Hsieh Yes, lefties should pronate. If it’s hurting your arm there has to be an issue somewhere. It should not hurt.

    • @Iseeghostsnow
      @Iseeghostsnow 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe you're overdoing your pronation and almost throwing a screwball which is really harmful to your arm
      They only thing that should pronate is your fingertips not your whole arm.
