It’s difficult to imagine how different things were a hundred fifty plus years ago when farmers had no modern equipment to work the land. An ox or two or a mule or two, maybe even a couple of work horses hitched up to a plow and shovels, axes and a pick and pure sweat and grit . . . Not that you don’t have the grit,Tyler . . . You are amazing! You work so hard and so much, you work smart, too, avoiding overdoing things like changing machinery out less than you have to by planning your day well. I really admire you. The care you take of the animals and the land and your resources . . . All very well orchestrated. Bravo!

Callie will be a great teacher to the pup. I can just see the whole scenario by the big tree on the offset pasture. You-“Now Callie, we have to show the folks how big this tree is so go stand over there by the tree and give me you best camera pose.” Callie-“Sure Dad, no problem. No one will be looking at the tree, by the way, because I exude so much cuteness they’ll be looking at me.”

Perfect timing on mowing, earlier in the fall you would have had fire concerns and later you would be cutting the grasses stating to grow.
We had a place that we rented for generations along the lower San Joaquin river south delta that looked much like that. One time the corps of Engineers cut down an old oak like that growing along the levee and it’s was something like 350 years old. We actually had quiet a few trees that we had to farm around on that place and there was a grove very similar to your winter pasture that they didn’t level and farm and was just seasonal pasture.

We have the Garry Meeker Oak here in Thurston County Washington. This last week,The City of Tumwater is pushing to cut it down because they say it’s a danger and could kill some passerby if it got stormy. The tree is over 400 years old. I’ll bet your tree is that old too, if not older.

I hope you don’t get tired of me seeing this, Tyler, but I really love your videos and the content with so much variety in each video.
It was really wonderful to see those trees that were somewhere between 200 years old and beyond possibly. I’ve never seen an oak tree that was turning ants Growing within itself quite like those are but I think that’s an indication of storms that they have been through.
Where does your new puppy get her name and who named her? I will go back through some of your videos and see if I can answer my own question, but I just don’t remember that ever being addressed. She is so beautiful and I love it when she sits up so big and tall next to you in the roundabout and Callie is in the back supervising. Both of your dogs are very well behaved, and they adore you, that is so obvious😊♥️❣️❣️
I know electric fence is a lot quicker to put in and in the old fashion type of fencing, but watching you brush hog all of those weeds and thick grasses down before you can put the fencing up, almost seems to be more of a hassle. Especially when you have to go back and do the touch up from time to time if it starts growing back up and grounding out the fence.
I think you’re very wise not to put the cattle out on that patriot and give it a chance to grow up more & be more established before you let them out!!!!
I appreciate it Tyler when you’re making your videos that you explain not only what you’re going to do for the day, but while you’re doing what you’re doing, and the way you’re doing it for the best possible outcome for the farm and the animals. This isn’t going to sound right when I say it so I apologize upfront, but … And I know it’s true of many many farmers, there just wasn’t time to talk about while you’re doing what you’re doing, but I always wanted to understand the rationale behind what we were doing, and the purpose it was going to accomplish… Or why we would want to avoid a certain task or project. I especially find this to be even more true now that my parents are gone and I can’t ask those questions. Where is you are always teaching and educating and explaining the process by which we would do things so that it makes it that much easier to follow along and understand it for the next time❣️❣️😊 I hope that makes sense what I’m trying to say. I can’t tell you how many times I was told, “don’t ask any questions just do what I tell you so we can get this job done before the sun goes down!!😂”…. i’ve talked with my sisters, and we all say the same thing and that is that once you’re grown up and you have your own farm or your own gardens, for example, it’s very hard to go about planning your own gardening if someone’s not there to tell you how to do it because that’s the way it was done at home. I remember the first time I planted green beans, and I kept reading on the packet for instructions. But they weren’t there. You had to go on the Internet or to your garden magazine to get the specifics on how to planet or how many beans went in a mound or a row for your specific zone. I just said it right then and there is it when my children were born I was going to encourage him to ask as many questions as was needed so that they could set up their own home and gardens with confidence. I realize if you have 12 children in the house, and all of them are asking questions you probably wouldn’t get very much done, but I was a single parent with three children for many years and one of the things we did well during meal time, was, there were several things we did at every meal… 👥 Prayer was said each person was allowed to share something positive about their day, and something dead if they wanted to something unpleasant about their day… Particularly when school was in season; the kids were asked to share something they learned on that day and they knew if they couldn’t tell me something I would probably call the teacher and ask why my child was unable to learn anything through a 7 1/2 hour classroom… At least they feared I would😄😄,
Anyway, I’ll definitely try to spend time through every meal and into dessert to discuss a project that we were going to be working on and explain how we would be doing our tasks; give them all and opportunity to ask any questions they might have and then, once we got started, I knew more questions were going to come up and try to take time to help them to understand not only what we were doing, but why we were doing it. I found the children cooperated so much better when they knew why we were doing the job we were doing.…. we all know our kids pretty well and we can tell when you’re asking a lot of questions just delay working. I’m not talking about that kind of conversation. But anytime you have a chance to help your child learn and grow is a win for them and for you!!!… so thank you so much Taylor for taking time out to teachers and to us about what you’re doing and why and also, when things go wrong, take us a long he sees two in phase 3 until you get things just tell you wanted it.
My last comment is this… I think something needs some WD-40 when you’re hanging the fences… I don’t know if that’s the real that has the electrical wire on it, or if it’s something else but it was kind of funny listening to you try to talk and the screeching in the background at the same time. Love the music that you play on your channel. I don’t know if I said that before but I’ve always wanted to. Whoever helps you with your videos does an excellent job, and if it’s just you, then, high five Tyler on another job well done.♥️♥️♥️

This might have already asked and answered. Mowing in reverse seems less efficent due to diminished visibility over your shoulder which is turned away. Driving forward provides a wider and closer scan for possible hazards.

We have a neighbor whose calves have been destroying our field (it’s raining and muddy) sadly they seem very blasé about removing them and fixing the fence. I’ve even offered to meet them and help them move them off my property. I wish they thought as you do.
