My "why" is because i have learned that Jesus studied kriya yoga at the juggernaut temple in india during his missing years.
I feel that i would be able to understand his teachings better if I studied what he studied.

Thank you for sharing about your wife! I'm not even married yet, and I get a bit anxious thinking about how it would work and all with getting up early and still wanting to have a deep intimate relationship with someone else. I'm a yoga teacher and I went to this additional yoga therapy for women, and they mentioned something along the lines of not sleeping with someone else because of energetic meddling and how you pick up the energy of the person beside you and wake up with that energy and it would be hard to distinguish what is what. Have you had experience with that as well?
