- Turn copper grates into pipes by filling them with water.
Water will flow through the grates, allowing them to transport items.
Use a campfire to fill the grates with smoke, damaging any mobs standing on top.
Modrinth: modrinth.com/d...
(The datapack is also packaged as a mod)
Hope you like the datapack! Currently it only works with the latest snapshots, 24w37a and 24w38a.
If you’re using it in creative mode, you’ll need to drop the grates on the ground so they can be converted into the datapack’s pipe item. Or you can craft grates from copper blocks.
Idk why the data pack is not working for me, correct version, I tried all these steps, tried forge mod...also how come there is only a models and textures file but no functions in the data pack?
@@skulkingshadowSorry about that, something got mixed up on Modrinth. I uploaded a new version that should download the correct files.
Man... I was hoping to put this into my 1.21.1 server...
they lowkey should add this to the game
This is great. Should definitely be in the game.
I just lost the game
Smart way to facilitate item transporting for redstone contraptions
I love the silly little noises
water pipe smoking sounds
This is incredible im shocked mojang didn’t think of this
It's cool but I don't think mojang would like this, because it doesn't feel like Minecraft.
@@pupip55 This is the most vanilla looking pipe that I'd ever seen, what do you mean
@@pupip55actually this is the best Minecraft feeling thing to add item transportation
@@kafiaahmed469 I have been playing since 2011 so I might be biased, but something like doesn't feel creative like unlike using trap doors for pipes or making your own out of block.
ice bridges are convuluted, multi block constructs that require walls, floor block, and water streams.
this is a massively useful, vanilla friendly solution to item transport that gives a reason for copper to even exist. your opinion is bad.@@pupip55
Now we combine it with the copper wiring pack…
Thinking the same thing mate
Imagine thunder strucks on pipe and every water inside it proceeds to be electrolyzed into oblivion
@@ASKern_ good idea
holy shit, then you get oxygen and hydrogen and you can make a rocket engine out of it
so basically in a few words this makes copper grates an advanced version of hoppers and ngl i feel like mojang really should add more things that have similarities to hoppers because hoppers are probably the most unique block in the whole game
this is such a cool pack. i love it!
This is amazing dude! Keep cooking
That's geniuous! Mojang should add it in game
PERPETUAL ITEM MACHINESSSS
No joke this is a masterpiece of a datapack, it works so seamlessly that it looks like it could/should be in the game
Mojang doing minor updates meanwhile this guy cooked perfect logic in item transportation and base logic in heat mechanics. Gigachad
This is possible the most creative and one of the most feature rich datapacks I have seen.
Now this is what the old copper trapdoor recipe should be
This really should just be in the game
This needs to be in the game ASAP, Imagine all the possibilities!!
I like that hoppers still have a use with this and the data pack helps give copper more use and make redstone more cost effective and compact(?).
This NEEDS to be in the vanilla game. This is unbelievabley amazing and I can’t believe mojang didn’t do this themselves
The sound is amazing
Mojang hire this man
Wow this is so cool. This is the best thing about datapacks. You take limitations and create amazing things with them without adding new assets.
this is the sort of thing i was hoping theyd have in vanilla when i first saw these blocks
Nice, good to see another small creator making something with copper. I made a new redstone system with it, and a friend of mine made contraptions, but this is unique in its own right! Kudos!
Thanks! I’ve seen your copper wiring datapack videos, it looks cool
@@ctkrocks Thanks! Hope yours works out well!
You guys are better than Mojang nowadays
a very cool and needed concept!
copper has been getting lots of love recently :0
Yea the copper wires, copper pipes..what next? 😮
@@skulkingshadow I remember something about copper gadgets? all I can remember from it was a deforestation thing and chunk drill
This is actually amazing, I'm surprised this much is even possible with datapacks. Really hope this will be updated when the next release comes out
@@3njooo as long as they don’t make any more big changes, it should work as is with the next update
This is actually sick. They should just add this to regular minecraft, except require a hopper so they don't become useless
Thing is, we can lock hoppers by powering them with redstone. So, as long as the pipes don't have that functionality, then the hoppers would still be very useful. I love the idea of having a way to water stream items around without taking up a ton of space or accidentally destroying all my redstone if I break the wrong block 😅
@@HelenaOfDetroit And hoppers are still needed to put items into containers
Incredible. You made it so symple and intuitive. And I loooveee the detain of tye copper sound as items travel through. Mojang needs to add this functionality to tye game. Great work!
Wow! What a wonderful datapack! It would probably work nicely alongside a two packs (one I made and the other made by a friend of mine) however those packs are not compatible with those versions but I know we are planning to update our packs to future non snapshot versions of minecraft! Honestly it would be the perfect trio of datapacks! I am excited to see what you do with your pack! If you ever need any help or tips or just want to talk about datapack stuff in general just let me know! I really love your take on what use you have given copper! Item transportation was something me and my friend's datapacks lacked and this pack provides it in such a cool way!
@@DumpstarFireDev thanks! I’ve seen your copper contraptions videos, and it looked pretty neat
@ctkrocks Aww thanks! I'm just glad I ended up releasing it! It has been one of my favorite projects to work on and it wouldn't be what it is today without the amazing testing and feedback from my friends! Also me and the creator of copper wires are thinking about having a little Easter egg for when both packs are used in the same world! I think it would be cool if you were a part of it too! We don't know what the Easter egg would be but we will work out the details later! Also if you ever need someone to test your pack for bugs or give you optimization tips then let me know! I have helped find bugs and optimize copper wires for my friend for awhile and if it weren't for our amazing team work the pack may not have been as optimized as it is today! Copper Contraptions has even gotten some optimizations from our work together! If you ever need anything you can find me on discord with the same name and profile pic!
deamn datapack guys are really having fun with copper blocks now
This is really cool and looks vanilla! Let him cook 🔥🔥
This is pretty cool
This looks so cool, it's also extremely useful
this is blowing me away, they need to hire u and add this
Cool datapack
Wow, this is a really freaking cool way to implement pipes! It also feels very vanilla
👍👍 Pretty cool mod, I'm surprised the main game doesn't have this
This is really neat. Very good job.
thats INCREDIBLY cool.
well copper faans, there is another copper related datapack in our copper list.
Another pack has the same name, but uses electricity with copper as a datapack, but overall this ones also really good! (Naming is probably gonna be a lil confusing though)
Thanks! Are you thinking of the Copper Wiring datapack?
This is SUPER cool!! This is such an ingenious way to implement transporting items without adding any new blocks. You deserve my sub!
this is actually really cool!
looks awesome!
This and the copper wires datapavk together would be cool
nice work!
they should add this in vanilla!
I thought the entire point of copper grates when they were revealed was going to be that it'd let liquids through
Very cool use, great job
Minecraft if Mojang had good ideas:
0:25 splatoon ahh sound
I'm amazed and angry with this video.
amazed because is a very cool concept with tons of usages and feels well incorporated into the game, and also looks and sound nice.
and angry because make me think that mojang is incapable of doing this kind of things because they are so busy recoloring the wood again.
Holey pipes? Great.
Bruh modrinth mfs be COOKING
WOW, it`s looks very coolll🤩
Amazing 👏👏
Wow. Just, wow. How?
I made datapacks, and I’m scared to imagine how many execute commands there are
Very cool
Wow that's cool
This is very similar to copper pipes from the quark mod
can copper pipes be separated by different oxidizing level of a copper grate? this should allow pipes work next to each other without mixing items and water streams...
also great work!
That’s a cool idea. Right now the oxidation level doesn’t have any effect.
This is great
Mind staying in the kitchen if you're cooking this hard?
WHERE IS MOJANG???????????????!!!!!!! I NEED THIS NOW
Damn, i thought this was vanilla....
This is so cool! It just needs a better texture than the one Mojang made. I could try and make one tho... This should be in the default game, like WOW!
Edit: I'll be working on one, but connected textures are a bit hard to pull off, along with the weathered versions... Also, could you make one for 1.21.1 instead mate?
@@JustMarq it doesn’t support 1.21.1 because it’s using some features added in the latest snapshots. I’m guessing the next version will be out soon though.
@@ctkrocks Oh, Ok. Anyway, I'm working on the copper pipe texture for the grates. Might finish it today. Does glass sound good for the texture? Because the grates have holes in them and don't look right.
Sure, i think if you just make a resource pack that replaces the grate texture it would work with the datapack, since it just places regular grate blocks. You might want to make another datapack that adds glass to the recipe though.
@ctkrocks makes sense. Good thing I know what I'm doing, LOL. I don't know if I can get rid of the stonecutter recipe tho. I'll see.
Here's the texture pack. I've only done the connected textures for the base copper grate so far, and not the other versions.
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1u_wDI44CfGDHN-ytZuPAuXDuhlcY1rOn?usp=drive_link
You'll need a mod that allows connected textures, but it's not that necessary.
Ok. I think my comment is getting deleted for having the download link. Anyway, I'm working on a recipe data pack along with the texture pack that I'll put or modrinth or something.
We have "create mod" at home...
Did I miss several updates worth of datapack patch notes or something? How is this possible with just a datapack?
ever since 1.20, the minor updates have been going absolutely INSANE. sethbling came back and made a physics system in minecraft!
and 1.21 minor updates have done even more, in terms of what you can customize. entity attributes… item components…
this looks good! but i cant find minecraft version of mod, what is the version?
You need to use the latest snapshots
@@ctkrocks oh... so ty👍 but u should write this i think
I have a pinned comment with more instructions
@@ctkrocks ty for replying for that! im gonna look it
I need a bedrock addon rn
peak
why not just use the regular fluid pipes?
Does this work for bedrock edition?
why I can only download the two snapshot versions that doesnt work anyway? Help?
@@ZiomekZKresu the datapack will only work with the latest snapshots. Is the datapack not working for you or the snapshot?
If you’re in creative mode you’ll also need to drop the grates on the ground so they get converted. Or just craft new grates.
@@ctkrocks im gonna try to open it up again
Sirve para bedrock?
