This video is so good! The addition of Steven to the team has been amazing. Love your videos man. Also the add-on and the method are absolutely game-changing. I feel like a new era of immersion learning has begun here at Migaku. Keep it up guys. All the best from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Thanks so much for making this. As someone who struggled with burnout using both the RTK method AND the MIA method I'm absolutely loving using Kanji God. Having the vocabulary I'm learning right on the card makes it so much easier to both remember the kanji AND remember the vocabulary. I didn't fully understand how to use the learn ahead feature after the first video, so thank you. Now I have a much clearer understanding of how to integrate kanji god into my system.
These addons are super nice. I hope someday you guys decide to make a mobile app. Honestly mobile is where I do all my studying and I have a pretty complicated setup going just to make it easy to make and study anki cards. It would be so cool to be able to do this on my phone but alas, I'll just be sticking to rtk.
Thank you for this video. I was trying recently to add cards from the Tango Deck, but nothing was happening. Had the wrong note types, now all is fixed.
Looking forward for the video targeted at advanced learners. I learned the basic Jouyou kanji set couple of years ago and since I read a lot I am pretty comfortable with them (ofc not perfect). My dilemma these days is how I should learn new kanji that I come across while reading. Should I just learn them naturally through immersion and constantly coming across them, or should I use flash cards? Thankfully since Lucas let it slip like 8 months ago that they were working on a kanji add-on in a backers meeting, I've tagged all the sentence cards with "unknown" kanji so I could use the kanji addon to make cards. However the kanji-addon seems to be targeted squarely at new users (completely understandable since the biggest market is the beginners and almost no one makes it past the beginner stage) trying to learn kanji for the first time so I haven't actually been keen at using it, even though I have test-driven the beta and it looks great. ok, I do use it, but right now just at a kanji dictionary.. which it's quite good as.
The add-on is not at all just targeted at beginners. Check out our previous video as it goes a bit more into some of its features that apply more to people at an intermediate or above stage.
@@MigakuOfficial It actually isn't doing that for me. I'm on the 2nd day using the addon and I've got 初めまして and 初 isn't in the kanji deck after I click on Refresh Kanji Cards. I've got it set to 50 like you did in the video but I've only got 27 in the list of new kanji. It might be because I used the "Mark as known and delete" button a fair bit. Not sure. I'm pretty sure I followed everything in the video.
If it adds radicals for new kanjis automatically, won‘t there be hundreds of identcal radical cards after a while? Does it only add unknown radicals? If it adds all radicals of a kanji, do you have to manually pick which ones you already know every time? Please someone help me! I don‘t understand at all.
Changing the note type in the Tango deck only fixes the front of the cards for me. The back is displaying incorrectly still, not sure how to fix. Edit: spent an entire evening trying to fix this to no aveil, however the next day it just worked. lol
Interesting way to learn Kanji ! One thing which is good is RTK is that you don't really learn Kanji radicals but primitives which are very close to what you see in kanji. Radicals have sometimes a very appearance when used in kanji. Also I suggest that you enhance the sound quality of your videos by using better mic. I think it's really important if you want to grow further. Anyway thanks a lot for the work
hi guys, i have problems with creating more cards via the god addon. i read that you just have to close the kanji setting window again. that doesn´t create any further cards for me 😦 Any ideas? Tried it with different decks and yes the deck on the right level ... im pretty lost
Its easier to answer questions like that on discord. Well probably need some screenshots and a few more info's for that. So its best if you come to discord, we have a specific channel for the kanji addon.
Hello there Migaku, I have a question... In Stage 2 (12:12) In browse section, I couldn't find the "notes", that you used them for selecting them all. It shows me "Sort Field'', ''Card'', "Due", "Deck'', but ''notes'' doesn't show up. Please assist me. I'm kind of feel frustrated for dividing the notes... :(
Do you have the same deck downloaded from the description? If so and it is till not showing the "notes" section, then you have to right click on the bar itself and it shows a dropdown menu where you can select it.
It has the more general meaning of polish, and is also used to mean polish a skill. When Japanese people say "brush your teeth" it's almost as if saying "polish your teeth" to keep them pearly white.
STOP caring so much about kanji. I didnt even finish RRTK and I have ZERO problems with kanji. It turns out our brains are AMAZING at differentiating kanji. even if you mistake one kanji for a different one at a certain point, chances are you`re not gonna make the same mistake again. And What's more, I rarely mistake kanjis because the sentences and the other characters in the word give us enough clues to tell them apart.
You don't HAVE TO type in the answers on WaniKani, there are a lot of great scripts you can install and one of them is Anki Mode where you only have to click that you were "not correct" or "correct" (you can even turn this on in the advanced settings of the most popular mobile app people use for WK) :)

I learned kanji with rtk but hopefully, this will make learning new kanji easier.
Do you guys recommend any kind of immersion while in Phase 2 or should you just focus on the Tango deck?
Thank you for this video. I was trying recently to add cards from the Tango Deck, but nothing was happening. Had the wrong note types, now all is fixed.
2:50 I laughed so much because that's literally the same face I had after RTK

Very clever
Is there a way to make the addon add kanji of card that you already studied?
14:52 strange thing is, when i produce the Kanjis ahead for 50 JLPT N5 cards, i get 50 and not 34 cards. Something wrong with my settings?
Does the plugin add the kanji cards in order of in which the kanji appear in the vocab deck with 'learn ahead'?
Yes.

It only adds cards for radicals you haven't already learned. If you already learned a radical for a previous kanji, it wont add it again.

Will that work for Chinese language? In theory it is not that hard to modify the current version to support it
You might be surprised how long it would take to compile an equivalent dataset, but yes we have plans to support Chinese in the future.
Will this also be available for Traditional Hanzi?
There are plans for it!

where can I download the deck for N5 I couldnt find it in the description
Give more love to mandarin please lol
Great content as always
I don't understand what the production deck is for。
...why is it tagged #learnspanish tho?
I dont understand the logic of learning characters without the sound in the target language
human flag tutorial video when
I dont see the note type

On the browser section -> select deck -> right click any field (card, due, deck etc..) and it will appear a list of things you want to see.
