Hi Matt, that looks to me like an Albright knot that you just did to tie braid to leader, you demonstrated the Albright knot in another video before and it looks exactly the same as this yet you call this a Yucatan.
No an Albright is very different, I think the Albright is quite weak I like a standard uni to uni more than an albright

what is your favourite rod/reel combo for softbait ?
im currently using a nasci 4000 + catana nano 1pc 7ft 6-8kg +30lb jbraid
thinking of getting the new stradic FL + shadow X nano same type of rod.
Would that knot work with say 50 pound braid to say a light leader of 20 pounds?
Why would you use 50lb braid and 20lb leader?
@@Fluid36 because i'm poor and only have one bait runner reel with 50 lb braid but sometimes i use that same reel for smaller fish which only need light leaders

Where I live we only have maybe 20 boats that go offshore. Of them a big sporty, we dont have a name for the second knot, we just know it. Some call it the fisherman’s knot, but most of the time we call call it Bimini to mono and tie it. Use it to connect 60lb braid to 12 or 20 pound mono when White Marlin fishing
Matts loop knot if you have false teeth just use pliers you do not use the FG knot?
Why do you need double braid? Why not connect the leader direct to braid with an FG knot? It's one less knot to tie.
Tieing a single effective fg knot is more difficult and time consuming than doing both of these knots, very big factor when the fish are firing

@@jaydenpitt5878 yes Practice doing the FG knot a matter of finding a good technique takes me about a minute or 2
