That is the best running and sounding nitro engine I have EVER HEARD of the many engines you have posted on your website Dave. That V configuration really makes for a smooth operating engine for sure. Thank you very much for sharing this magnificent engine with us, it was nice to see your reflection on the valve covers!
It is a nice engine. V-twins aren't really all that smooth as a general rule-the Harley I once owned would shake your teeth loose after an hour or so ride.
Great run. All Saitos I had so far did run decent on 10% Nitro and would have been much better on 15-20%. One exception was the old FA120 with the large head. This one was very smooth on 10%.
Sure looks and sounds great. Probably too big for my Royal P-6E project but I will have to chase down a drawing and dimensions for one of these. Should be able to turn a 16-6 3-blader.
Running high nitro fuel is pretty much pointless unless you are doing some kind of competition flying. On an engine like that, as expensive as that puppy is, I wouldn't even consider it.
Sooooo much better. That idle is pure music. Thanks David and also the owner for making this video possible!

Hi David very good spectacular I send a great greeting to all from Buenos Aires and have a very happy day of the friend 😎👍👍
Nice run Dave! Sounds awesome.

I have never seen a need for anything above 10% in a Saito engine. All I have run on 5% were fine on that. I don't pay more for nitro for 200RPM.

If you think you can find one of the engines, then good luck. They are no longer made and quite difficult to come by as well.
@@dmrcflyr2 I have a HP 120 Gold Cup but I wonder whether that will be enough oomph.
Beast!!
Freaking awesome sound at full throttle, purrs like pussy cat @ iddle, that engine loves that fuel.
Sound😍
How your neighbors should be with so much noise you should want a lot Jajajaja 😎👍👍
jorge Nelson felix he actually had an issue with a neighbor. He must have finally put her in her place.
Beautiful
Go 20%
I would love to hear it in a Seagull Spitfire,,
David, how much thrust does the engine develop?
I bet that engine would love Morgan's 30% nitro heli fuel. I've heard people have tried that in Saito's and got like a 400-500 RPM increase.

John Kelinske I wouldn't either as the fuel is very expensive, about $50 per gallon IIRC. Its just been mentioned that some have done it.
That is pocket change compared to the cost of the engine.
John Kelinske true. I'm not sure how much this one went for but I know the large radials went for well over $1000+.
The last new retail price I can find for one was around $900 and that was back in 2012 around the time they were discontinued.
