Iraq GoPro Combat - Navy Seal Sniper Assaults ISIS Held House In Close Combat Near Mosul

- The following GoPro combat video from Iraq shows former Navy seal sniper Ephraim Mattos (IG: @ephraimmattos), who voluntarily joined the fight against ISIS with his organisation Stronghold Rescue & Relief alongside the Free Burma Rangers, assaulting a ISIS held house in a village near Mosul, Iraq.
The house was held by at least two ISIS fighters including one machine gunner whose gun jammed during the engagement as he attempted to open fire on him and his team. Instead of fixing his problem and reloading the gun to continue fighting, he and his comrade fled into the tunnel (shown in video) and tried to hide.
Shortly after the Iraqi Army collapsed the tunnel on top of them and they were buried alive.
Ephraim Mattos wrote an interesting book about his part during the war against ISIS in Iraq together with with Scott McEwen who also wrote AMERICAN SNIPER.

That reload he did was perfect, kept the barrel in "fight ready" while not flagging his battle buddy, top notch professionalism on display.
But when he ran across the front of the door he opened himself up to fire from inside the building from the far window. The problem with what he did was if you were camping in the last position he hit, then you can see his bullets move across the room and you know where he will be in 2 seconds, you aim and as it hits the corner before you, you squeeze, you then shoot across the wall at about hip height, your bullets can go through the wall in the real world and all them soldiers lined up at it can get killed. Doing it properly takes a lot of guts and its dangerous, you throw something that explodes in the door/windows, and then you acquire your targets and shoot. You dont run out away from the building while shooting in, you move quick and aim and you trust that they will be too disorientated to see you before you see them. For example, SAS cleared a building and they took out a lot of people alive because they didnt have guns.. Like in training you rush throught he building shooting targets and to do it well your bullets should only hit the targets and they put some innocent targets in to see who the hotshots are. Its common for americans even in training to just spray every room with bullets, but it 100% is not professional.
Why you armchair generals orgasmed after seeing most simple things like trigger discipline or no aiming to friendly. They are like the first things they teach you in the army.

@@cryptik5097 you can see the damage the bullet holes do, you see the first corner get damaged, then the second, you're in the third, within seconds you know he's gonna be in a position you can shoot him from. That's why they train you not to do it. Green beret or sas do not clear a room like this. I know from your comment you've never done real combat with high trained soldiers. Once in a hundred training simulations you'll get blind luck kill on them, every other time all you see is their gun pointing at you with them looking down it before you even knew they were there. The fact you don't even understand you can see the bullets moving toward you across the wall shows me you never even did any training except paint balling.
@@geroutathat ahh yes because you're an expert of green beret and SAS training, they are not trained not to do this, he was pie-ing the room while prefiring, If you think he was actually trying to hit something you're a moron, he's getting shots down range and keeping the momentum of this engagement up, and in a real gunfight you are not examining the gunshots in a wall like Sherlock holmes, if you even notice the rounds have gone through the wall with all the adrenaline, plus a grenade going off next to you seconds before, it would still be impossible to tell where those rounds are coming from till its too late especially if someone is clearing a room like this, not to mention he had a battle buddy looking into the room from a different angle while he was putting rounds into the house. But okay Mr SAS combat professional, I'll take your word for it.

You can tell how well your enemy fights by there supplies, how clean there weapons are, what ammo they are using, if they have enough socks to rotate them. You will learn these things if you weren't a POG

Part of the reason why they use ak's is because its more plentiful the ammunition and also mostly anyone who is worth their salt fighting an opposition for a long time knows that anyone using 5.56 is some sort of NATO-backed armed forces so the adversary would cast blame on those who use 5.56 or other common calibers utilized by NATO.
however. You use 7.62x39's? kinda hard to tell who was there and who wasnt. Not even NGO's are government is gonna know/suspect it was NATO armed forces operating in the area. counter-intelligence insurgency.

I can tell he was working as a contractor at the time in the video by his loadout
Prob straight M70. Not O-PAP. The O-PAP was the civilian semi auto only. You can see the 3 pins on this receiver so it is full auto capable. Most likely a yugo M70.

N-PAP, is the civilian version, which has no bulged trunnion.
Only mistake he made was not switching to knife to run faster.

Wrong. They fled in that tunnel and he chased them. But that tunnel led to another tunnel that was up higher and required a ladder to get to. Clearly ISIS took it when they made it up to the other tunnel so they couldn’t be chased. Unfortunately for Isis, these guys filled in that hole and waited for them to surface elsewhere. Apparently later that night, they heard a bunch of explosions underground as Isis started taking their own lives because they knew they were trapped underground.
This story was outlined in Mr Ballen’s video. This is an ex seal who went there with aid group. He’s about as badass a man as there is.

I love how these "Soldiers" criticize them for pre firing inside the house. This is not COD where you wait for enemies to appear right infront of you. Just because you don't go down when you're hit once or twice in the game doesn't mean you'll still stand in rl.
I’m not one to criticise, but the obvious problem you run into is that the likelihood of you killing a non combatant (ie a civilian) is quite high if you’re to assault a building in that manner. In saying that we don’t have the luxury of seeing the lead up to the assault so it could have been full of isis. Just saying.

Raj from tech support the reason that more SOF members and hostages and non combatants aren’t terminated is because of the fact that when it comes down to it they don’t shoot shoot and shoot. Any person with enough ammo and an unknown building known to be occupied by combatants would fire into every corner and under every piece of furniture

Standing in a doorway is wrong, what hes doing is exactly how you clear it, he sweeps from one end to the other shooting every possible angle a combatant could be, while narrowing the angle a shot could come from.
