Since I have a kid, having a lazy day, taking it easy, doing nothing is just a dream for me 😅 but if I had, I would probably sleep in till noon, get up and head out to a bakery to grab my favourite things for breakfast. As I am Turkish, I would probably drink tea all day, one after the other till I see the bottom of the teapot😅 listening to my favourite songs that I have added to the queue on TH-cam, vegging out on mu sofa, watching some travelling videos and dreaming about my next trip would be the things that I do the whole day. I might even doze off while sprawling on the couch, for dinner I would have sth easy or order food and enjoy it. ❤
The word "Nada", is used in both Portuguese and Spanish. When I'm having my lasy day, I don't do anything ( Nada). 🤭😅 Kind... I get vegging on the sofa. Definitely, I have no idea if I made the sentence correctly. 😅 Great job, teachers. By the way, someone's eyes are highlighted in this class. 👏🏼
It's so much fun to see how languages are connected! - I like vegging on the sofa - I want to just veg on the sofa - I have been vegging all day "To veg" is a regular verb, so you can use it in any of the above ways!
Thanks Kat and Mark. Great lesson! actually, I realize I almost never have a lazy day totake it easy or to mooch about. It sounds great to start planning those more frequently! Best wishes.
😂😂😂 listening to you both, now I'm starting to think I'm a bit of an anxious person... 🤔🤭😆 I couldn't (by no means) remain in bed until 10...!!!! I think in my pets... wanting to go out for pee... so I have to get up, open the door for them to feel free at the garden...❤ then, refill their water and food pots, then my plants!!!! So, water them, taking the old leaves off them... and I'm on the day (how do you say...) already active... All the rest you said, is fairly true to me 😊. Hanging around with a cup of Coffee, listening to chill out music, watching films, and -of course- scrolling the phone... 😂😂😂❤ Love for both!!!
Haha thanks so much for sharing! It sounds like even on "lazy" days you are still very busy! Pets definitely always need our attention, and they know their food schedules very well too! 😂
Hey👋, same here. Love slacking off in my jammies until midday or even later, Kat 😊😊. There’s no way I’m giving up such a delightful ‘vice’. 🤙🤙😊😊 The ‘achieve zero’ + ‘veg on the sofa’ policy is just bang on, Mark! On my lazy days, I just love panning out into a couch potato 😂😂😎😎🤙🤙 A top-notch clip, on target as always 👏. 🇮🇹
Great question! - "to unwind" is to relax. You might watch TV to unwind, listen to music to unwind, go to the beach, or have a nice bath to wind down and slowly, gently relax. - "to wind down" is a little bit different. We often say "to wind down in the evenings", and this means we prepare ourselves for bed. This usually involves doing relaxing things, like having a bath, but it also means preparing for bed, so turning off the lights, turning down the TV volume, brushing your teeth and making your home nice and dark and quiet so you can go to sleep easily. I hope that makes sense!
Good question. "A couch potato" means lazy but in a bad way. It sounds more like a bad habit or a bad personailty trait. They don't get up and help, they don't want to help or work or do anything and this is kind of annoying for other people. Hope that makes sense!
Good question - weirdly, I think we can only say: "a me day." If I talk about myself: "It's been a long time since I've had [a "me" day.] If I talk to my friend: "It's been a long time since you've had [a "me" day]. OR "Go home and relax. You deserve a "me" day." So even when we're talking to other people, we still use the same phrase. Weird! Hope that helps!
My lazy day is lazy, vegging on the sofa, mostly watching the TV or tablet from Morning to Evening:-) By "ultimate" do you mean final maybe there? Thank you!
Good question. "Properly" can have 2 meanings. 1. Completely / Fully / Totally (that's how we used it in this episode) 2. Correctly - this can mean correctly using a machine, a device, or doing something "correctly" socially, like shaking hands with someone when you meet them or using their "proper title" (sir, missus, ma'am). "Appropriately" is most similar to the second meaning. If you do something properly, then you do it respectfully or correctly in regards to social etiquette. Hope that makes sense!

Hi! Thank you! what's the difference between "unwind" and "wind down"?
Great question!
- "to unwind" is to relax. You might watch TV to unwind, listen to music to unwind, go to the beach, or have a nice bath to wind down and slowly, gently relax.
- "to wind down" is a little bit different.

Thanks a million, dear teachers! What about the expression "a couch potato"?
Good question.
"A couch potato" means lazy but in a bad way. It sounds more like a bad habit or a bad personailty trait. They don't get up and help, they don't want to help or work or do anything and this is kind of annoying for other people.
Hope that makes sense!

Hello Kat and Mark
Can we also say : it’s a you day ??
Good question - weirdly, I think we can only say: "a me day."
If I talk about myself: "It's been a long time since I've had [a "me" day.]
If I talk to my friend: "It's been a long time since you've had [a "me" day].
OR
"Go home and relax. You deserve a "me" day."
So even when we're talking to other people, we still use the same phrase. Weird!
Hope that helps!
Thanks for your answer!! Very useful and probably one less mistake for me!!! Thank you

By "ultimate" do you mean final maybe there?
Thank you!

By "ultimate" I meant "perfect" or "the best" 😀
