    Definitely an episode to revisit and learn from again and again. The biggest takeaway was the moment when you (Lewis) juxtaposed the difference in both your methods of serving. This is when the entire conversation came full circle for me including ideas that came to me while watching. Of all the major takeaways, this was a personal lesson for me: How do I strike a balance so I may serve and impact while not giving it all away for free and be able to provide more for my team? So much I love about this interview. Money is not bad. The character of the person utilizing it is either good/bad. When we focus on "I don't want to be one of the bad guys" we almost dodge and avoid wealth which in the beginning when Grant mentioned the two that own 90% of assets across the globe -- they have the power too do extreme good or extreme harm -- why not get in on being one of the people that can do a whole lot more good and scale your empathy ... A wealth of information here to process and apply. This was a really great interview Lewis, thank you for the follow-up questions you asked, and the contributions you made as well. You kept the conversation going and it was gems all the way to the end.

      @@DigitalRaider1 Yes. It mostly has to do with residential properties being purchased by the wealthy and firms like Vanguard and BlackRock, at very high prices, and then being rented out. It sounds like this is what Grant is doing. That's fine, he's just playing the highly imbalanced and broken economic system. But for the collective of society, I think it's more harmful than helpful. I think a transformation of society, including economics, would be more focused on service to humanity and the Earth. One book that helped me to shift my understanding of economics beyond the conventional approach and what I was taught in business school was the book Sacred Economics, which has many great ideas in it.

    Lewis asked a great question, what happens when investors own all the housing 🤔? Mass homelessness, people need not wonder why the homeless rates are skyrocketing. We've seen enough already to see where this is heading if these practices are allowed to continue. At what point will people see that in far too many needs based sectors, having a place to lay your head at night is a need, we're putting more nails in our future generations coffins 🤷‍♀️. Frankly this an immoral practice that's harmed so many and if allowed to continue will harm a great many. When is enough enough when it comes at the expense of others and future generations? How much does one need to live a happy fulfilled life? 🤷‍♀️

    • @apove1814

      @@apove1814 seeing it in Michigan as well. These investment groups have and are buying up a lot of real estate here driving up the cost to buy and rent. California is undoubtedly the most appalling example in our country, homeless rates continue to skyrocket due to the disproportionate cost of living to wages.
      I don't mind or even take issue with others getting wealthy but when it's being done at the expense of the collective I take serious issue with it. One can get wealthy without contributing to the issues we already have in our country. I'm so sick of greed contributing to the down fall of our society when if done differently we could all be living like kings here making a positive impact on our society. I 🙏 it gets better in America but can't help but to wonder how bad does it need to get before we change our nation's priorities?

      I wish that we could get this thought across to all of these big money gurus. What they are preaching in regards to money is not wrong per-se, they do have a lot of wisdom that they share, but put simply, they are too far above the simple 99% that they came out of to see the devastating effects that real-estate investment is having on the majority of people. It's not that they're deliberately harming people, they just have no idea what the impacts of their investments are.

    • @JodyLuvsHumanity777
      @JodyLuvsHumanity777 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@theresamcgallicher investors vs renters and working class home buyers. I can't help that you cannot see the trend in homelessness and the lack of affordable housing and rentals. These investment groups are driving up the price creating essentially a wealth class of buyers if you wish to own your own home or face skyrocketing rent across the country. Again, I don't have an issue with people getting wealthy, kudos for them, what I do take issue with is the exploitation of the everyday worker to get there along with exasperating the homeless crisis. I ask you, when is enough actually enough for one human being and family when it comes at a high cost to others? BTW, I didn't say Grant is immoral, that's for him to decide if he can sleep comfortably at night contributing to our country's issue as I judge no one, I said it's an immoral practice that's allowed to continue. We didn't get where we are as a nation overnight and if this trend continues with housing 10 years from now you may look back and say, "You know a kind lady in the TH-cam comments warned of this."🤷‍♀️

    It' great listening to a couple of positive thinkers I love listening to Lewis's interviews and this with Grant Cardone is one of the best. But it has always been easier to borrow money and do business in the US. UK banks have always had a wet sponge approach to lending.
    Since the "Global shut down" interest rates on my loans have gone from 3.25% to 9%. Break neck rates! But, I'm old enough to remember 16% UK rates, the difference was people had jobs back then. Now people are scared of spending money, losing their jobs and the banks have become loan sharks. But I agree property, even a garden shed is always going to be worth more than the value of todays money.

      IMHO, it is because they don't know it. I have a degree in finance and an MBA but didn't learn any of this til I moved to California. You HAVE TO become a real estate expert in order to survive here. My advice: buy income/rental property* and live in a rented place... *for the passive income, expenses, tax write-offs, depreciation.
