Many of you guys have suggested that Faye went out for weeks to mark they way for Kratos and Atreus and I can't believe I forgot about that. But this still doesn't explain how she does, so all add marking the way to my idea of her being injured in a battle 😉
I think Faye isn’t really dead she went into hiding like Tyr did n the body Kratos n Atreas burned is an illusion by future Loki, that would explain when Kratos stepped into the beam of light in the elf realm he saw Faye
Kuba, any thoughts on Faye returning in GOW5? Since K and A spread her ashes amongst a giant gravesight, could it be possible that her spirit ends up joining them or assisting with a revived armada of giants almost parallel to the events in the Greek panthogy to prepare and escort them through Asgard to the battle with Odin? Crazy thought
Kratos cooking... Imagining him with his usual facial expression, wearing a cooking apron that says ‘kiss the cook’ and oven mitts as he holds a tray of cookies. Then he turns to Atreus. Kratos: Boi... the cookies are done.
This is 100% what it was she had to take weeks to mark the right trees so the staves would stay everywhere but that one section of the woods its like a flood gate.
@@Gundam4 that literally makes no sense. You can't take the hood out of a man but you can take the man out of the hood does because you simply locate him outside of that environment but he will still have the knowledge and experiences from living in the hood and its ways... if you take the Sparta out of a spartan, that's exactly comtridictive of not being able to take the spartan out of sparta. I think you meant to say, "you can take the spartan out of sparta, but you can't take the sparta from inside the spartan" sparta being the 'hood' or environment he grew up in.
If faye is killed or wounded by an aesier god and if kratos finds out than he’ll for sure bring end to aesier gods.... than R.I.P Odin N Thor etc....✌🏻
@@callidusk imagine --- when kratos released the power of hope to mankind in gow3, the power was also distributed to kratos ( since he is half mortal) and he will again use the same power to defeat a very very strong existence like Odin.
@@ummehabiba954 maybe he will use that power and put it into Mimir and Mimir will kill Odin. Im very Confident that Mimir Will do the final blow. I mean he locked him in a tree for 109 Winters. Also is Winters Years too? I still Dont Understand why they barely talk About the Other seasons and they only talk About Winter. Edit: also why would he be taking revenge when he Already learned that it was bad?
I think when faye is out for weeks maybe she is drawing that yellow path for kratos and atreus to lead them to highest peak in all realms to spread her ashes when she die
That wouldn't really make sense since the drawing looks like it has been there for years. Also wasn't the trees in the forest around kratos's hut ( the one kratos cut down) been there for a long time as a shield so that monsters won't get close, that's why atreus was so confused in the start of the game of how monsters got so close to their home.
I think she knew she had to die because she died before. When Kratos battled and killed his version of the fates, he traveled back in time and then got time traveling abilities. When Kratos and Boy fight the Norns (Past, Present and Future), my theory is Loki will be sent back in time, without his memories and be adopted by Odin. He will trick the builder, play is role in Moljnir's creation, give birth to his four children, etc. Then he will get his memory back, meet his mother and tell her of his journey and his father. I think they're stuck in a loop and Kratos (killing his own fates and being unbound by it) will help break the cycle.
Beside all of these theories, I'd like to take a moment just to mention that Cory created a Masterpiece game throughout all these years, that even nowdays, we still keep throwing pieces of theories of What If. Anyone ever thought of this? Because I don't know any other game as Epic as this one!!!!
I agree bro. Some people wants more brutal deaths. I Want too for a 2013 Gow Fan. Around there or 2014 i Played the first Gow game. But they did make a good game. I hope the next game has more open world as this.
My only problems with this theory are that if Faye sustained a injury, wouldn’t Kratos have seen this injury when wrapping her up and investigate what might have been the cause? Also Kratos has many many years of experience when it comes to combat. I believe he would know if Faye was sick from a wound as he may have seen comrades fall from such wounds during his spartan years. Also if ragnorok occurred already due to time dilation, wouldn’t the Aesir be dead already? Doesn’t ragnorok kill all Aesir and giants?
@G9 Knowledge Junction I really hope they make it past Ragnarok. I have Little hope for it to be avoided but making it out is bigger. Damn i have so many Danganronpa vibes. Funny how GOW 3 Was released around the same time of those games.
If Faye can see the future, she saw that Ragnarok was close by and she had to go to travel to then save Kratos and their son. She gladly sacrificed herself to save them, and asked them to put her ashes over the highest mountain as a catalyst for ragnarok
Dude, now that ragnarok trailer came out and ragnarok is confirmed. Maybe Faye will have a cameo and she'll come in and save Kratos and Artreus during the war in the process being severely wounded so she came back in time and died.
Or maybe she was out putting her marks everywhere for Kratos’ upcoming journey with Atreus and when she left the marks in jotunnhiem there was a battle and she helped the giants and got hurt? Idk man theories are hard 😂
Yeah, had the same idea about marks. For me, she's kinda like Dr strange. She might've done some other things that'll lead as is next game and maybe had to sacrifice herself for her plan
I think the Giants were already wounded when they escaped from midgard and died of their wounds waiting for the guardian to return ..I think the disagreement she had with Giants in the mural had something to do with her death
My only problem with these theories is that yes, while time distortions can be used to travel in time, time dilation shouldn't allow time travel. You go to jotunheim and a week passes outside, doesn't mean someone can access future jotunheim by waiting outside. So either Ragnarok has happened or will happen. It is possible that besides traveling to jotunheim the gate Kratos and Atreus went through, either through the Unity Stone or some other means is now different and besides the normal time dilation can also be programmed for specific times, via for example Mimir's eyes, the black rune, etc... something they left beind for Kratos and Boi to find, and therefore it isn't a normal phenomenon. I think either Ragnarok is divided into 2 phases the aesir won the 1st and now time manipulation will bring about the true result via time manipulation in a "You can't fight fate" kind of way, OR There was a future ragnarok which happened normally, but the addition of Kratos to this timeline via Faye's influence, because of receiving visions from/about the first Ragnarok, made her change the future by acting differently. Basically Ragnarok->New Visions->This Timeline->New Visions->Different timeline Everytime you see the future and act to avoid it, the prophecies and visions in the past change to match the new series of events and therefore the people in the past with different information take different actions, therefore creating an infinite Ragnarok loop until people stop messing with future sight, It is like the time machine paradox that dictates that eventually the only stable timelines would be ones where time travel does not exist anymore.
I would like to add a correction here. I agree about the time dilation but everybody is forgetting that Odin was basically on the hunt for the giants and he wanted to kill them because giants were close to equal to the aesir gods and refused to worship them as they wanted. This is the reason Tyr helped them hide the jotunheim tower in the 'lake of the 9 realms' or whatever that lake is called. They wanted to evade their extinction from Odin and Thor's hands but eventually they failed and Thor or Odin got to jotunheim and killed all the giants. I feel faye was fighting them, she saw they are losing the war, she got mortally wounded and that's when she started marking path. She returned home telling she was injured during hunting and then succumbing to her wounds, she died. Or it is also possible that kratos would've known that she was fighting a war and she would've taken promise from kratos of to not get involved in this and take care of their son as he was the only parent. She probably didn't even tell the details out of which half of them kratos comes to know at the end of the journey that faye was a giant and odin and thor hated and killed giants. So in short, Ragnarok didn't exactly happened but WILL happen later on. Also there are specific signs before the beginning of ragnarok like the death of baldur, the start of 3 year long winter or fimbulwinter and loki will be the catalyst for ragnarok and pretty much both events we witnessed in GOW4.
Also, another theory I feel is that at the end we see murals on the wall depicting the journey of atreus/loki and kratos. Then there is the last mural where we see someone die and loki crying beside. I feel that a fight might take place between Thor and Kratos and kratos might die. So in anger for killing his father, loki just might end up causing ragnarok and probably kratos may end up in helheim getting a peaceful/chaotic (it depends) afterlife. Later on we also might se kratos coming back from helheim probably at the end.
The way I understand it, the timeline is cyclical, and would only make sense if Ragnarok happens at the same time for all realms. If time doesn't elapse at the same rate in all realms, that means that Ragnarok happens quicker or slower from your perspective if you live in one realm or another. If Ragnarok happens every thousand years in Midgard, then it would happen every few years in Jotunheim, which would explain why we still see the corpses of the giants from the previous Ragnarok.
I think feye was being away for weeks because she was marking the road for kratos and boy, And the sadness was because she will die, idk how maybe suicide.

@@DarkPhant0M005 well how she knew where they will go without her ability to see the future ? And you didn't say his name or mine so you were talking to both of us
Your theory is highly plausible and, in fact, it goes kinda well with my own about her: Faye will turn out to be the real main villain of the whole norse saga, much like Athena was during the greek saga. Why am I saying so? It's kinda....twisted, but please bear with me. What do we know about Faye? She's a Jotunn, she's the guardian of Jotunheim and basically the champion of her own kin, much like what Thor is in the real world mythology. The protector of giants. We also know that in Jotunheim, where Kratos and Atreus spread her ashes to the wind, there are a lot of murals depicting the very same journey that father and son just faced, and they're most likely centuries old. Now we have the basics, let's delve deeper: Being the guardian of Jotunheim, Faye shared a common purpose with the other Jotnar: the demise of the Aesirs. At some poit it was predicted that a Jotunn named Loki would've been the very cause of the beginning of Ragnarok, which would've marked the end of the Aesir gods. It was also predicted that Faye would've been the mother of this child, and that an ashen warrior (Kratos) would've been his father. At some point after Kratos made it to the realm of Midgard she met him and imediately recalled of the prophecy of him being fated to be the father of Loki, the harbinger of Ragnarok. And this is where my theory and yours meet: she fought on Jotunheim not because she wanted to win or anything, but because she knew that eventually she would've been wounded in such a way it would've caused her death. So prioor to this she marked the trees she wanted to be used for her pyre, which in return lifted the magic barrier preventing Odin from spotting her and thus allowing Baldur to track her down. And this is all part of the plan: she knew that Baldur would've been involved and that the following events would've marked his demise, effectively starting Ragnarok. Her request to be taken to Jotunheim after her death wasn't for her wish for Atreus and Kratos to bond, neither the will to be with her people, but only due to the fact that she knew that pursuing that quest they would've clashed with Baldur, eventually killing him. The mural depicting Kratos death does not only show the most obvious thing, but also another detail: Atreus (hence Loki) giving birth to Jormungandr, as you can clearly see the magic coming out of his mouth, in the shape of a huge snake. If I'm correct, Faye knew that from her death the course of events would've been shaped to eventually come to that conclusion, so ultimately she didn't marry Kratos and bore his child because she loved him but to fulfill the prophecy and start Ragnarok. It's true: there are characters talking about her being just, kind and compassionate, such as Brok, Sindri and Mimir, but all of them hold a distinct grudge against the Aesirs and have all the reasons to speak ill of them. Moreover, most of the stories we hear about them come from either Faye herself or the aforementioned characters, mostly Mimir, so it might be possible that we heard only one side of the story. You might argue that there's a labor where you meet a spirit angered at Thor for killing his mother in a drunken rage, but then again that's only a part of the story, and the spirit clearly tell us that Thor himself came to them to give his condolences for her worshipper.
when he said "father is doing the cooking" i immediatly thought of kratos wearing a chef hat with italian music playing and him cooking spaghetti hoyl shit that would be funny
I assumed she was gone to paint and mark their trip, etc that was a huge undertaking and I guessed she probably poisoned herself knowing that Kratos and needed the motivation so start their trip
At first I thought her death could have been related to Atreus' earlier sickness. That Faye had to do something that sacrificed herself to cure him such as magically taking the illness into her own body or by paying a mystical price to remove it. There is not much evidence for this since Atreus' does also get sick during the game events. It may not be the same illness brought on by his inner conflict as it was earlier in his life. I do think that would add an interesting dynamic and perhaps be a factor in why Kratos is initially so distant from him.
I don't think that it is so complicated as you think. Maybe she died a normal death and when she realized that she is living her last days, she disappeared for weeks in order to set the trip for kartos and atreus, as u see in the end of the game, she knew everything that will happen. In my opinion, she died from old age, therefore she arranged the trip for her beloved husband and son the bring them closer and help them get along with each other
This feels like a legit question. How does immortality work in God of war? At what point do the gods start becoming old and grey? What offsets their powers and vitality?
Gods are immortal in regards to time, they cannot die a “natural death” as they do not feel the consequences of age. They actually get stronger as they age. The only way to kill them is to actually murder them of course. Even kratos is getting stronger believe it or not.
They’re immune to natural causes. They can’t die of cancer or heart attack or strokes. But they can be killed in combat or by injury… that’s what is likely to have happened to Faye. I believe she died fighting.
Can Somoene Explain why they gotta look like they are 40 or even 30 or 20 years old when they are Millions of years old? I mean i know that its Magic and that they are Giants and Gods and stuff but still. Even Freya and Baldur were Looking Young. Freya Looking 20 or 40 and Baldur like 36.
I think the theory is possible but I just love the idea of Kratos doing chores round the house, doing all the cooking and cleaning and gardening like a stay at home dad
After playing Ragnarok I’m convinced Faye isn’t actually dead. The “soul magic” introduced in GoWR opens up the possibility that her soul is no longer present in her body but could be inhabiting some other vessel. This may have been necessary due to some significance of her ashes being scattered in Jotunheim ( they effing glowed! There’s something there). I’m surprised this wasn’t explained in GoWR, though I expect we’ll learn more in a stand-alone Atreus game. Faye being alive would also help explain the “dreams” Kratos has throughout GoWR where Faye is seemingly communicating with him. And… AAAAAANNNDDD I’m calling it now, you heard it here first… Faye blew the horn!
Cory Barlog already confirmed that all the riddles you solve and the whole path you walk was marked by Faye. I would assume that's why she was gone for so long. Preparing the way For Kratos and Atreus. Also, if more time passes in Midgard than in Jotunheim, wouldn't that mean that time moves faster in Midgard, than it does in Jotunheim?
This theory is very interesting and too good, but why down we see any dead Asgardians? We should’ve been able to see some of their corpses in where Kratos and Atreus were walking.
According to norse mythology stories, most giants fell while trying to break the gates to Aesius gods. They couldn't even fight before they die. Some sort of war tactics
Don't forget you are standinf on the highest mountain in ALL the realms. You can only see dead giant Giants, not human sized or smaller ones. As Artreus says "Giants are a race, doesn't mean they arr all very big" (in the mountain). So if an Aesir god is as big as Kratos or even bigger let's say 8' or 240 cm. You still wouldn't see them cause you or on top of that peak
When Atreus mentions that she was gone for weeks in my mind in thinkig "She must have been painting those markers all around the realms and midgard that we see in our adventure" For kratos its takes us a few days or so but for Faye, doing some 4D chess, trying to piece together when and where they needed to go for the journey must have taken a while, and maybe at the end of that journey when she goes to jotunheim she did fight, or maybe she sees the dead giants and thats what makes her sad, or maybe its reversed, she has the battle in jotunheim and then backtracks all the steps needed to get there for Kratos and Atreus. Either way its a bit convoluded how she layed out an EXACT path for them to follow to get to jotunheim hahaha
My guess is that she somehow suicide so that her plan of sending kratos to save the giants can happen without her telling him. Because if she told him he would not accept it just bcs he doesnt want to do those things anymore. He want to live like a normal man
We did got to play slightly with Atreus sometimes. The baldur Fight where you chocke him and many more. I Dont Wanna talk About when you use your Arrows and Runic attacks because that's just Krate giving him a signal.
I like your theory and I think its plausible altough I dont think Faye was sad weeks (months) before her death because she saw the dead Giants in Jotunheim. As far as I understood it Faye already knew everything that was going to happen (e.g: her death, death of all the Giants, Kratos and Atreus Journey) before she even met Kratos. I think Cory also confirmed this in the interview with IGN or Easy Allies where he said that the Yellow markings around the map were all drawn by Faye way before she met Kratos. So she would have already known everything. That being sad I think she was just sad that she had to leave her family? I mean wouldn´t you be sad if you knew you are going to die and never see your family again and your family loosing you and never being able to see you again? Thats atleast how I see it
if faye knew that all of this would happen before meeting kratos would that mean that she was looking foward to make shure ragnarok happens? does this means she only saw kratos as a means to an end to have her revenge againts odin for what they will do to her kind?
@@ShadrackMeduson Well she didnt make sure that Ragnarok happens since Ragnarok was always going to happen no matter what. But Faye chose Kratos and Atreus to make sure it happens earlier I guess? And I dont know if she only was with Kratos to make sure that she gets revenge but I hope not lol. Because she would have to fake liking Kratos and have a child with him for the sake of Revenge. I guess she just accepted her fate and made sure that Kratos and Atreus fullfilled it
@@InsanityGameplays that could spark the possibility of faye been the same as gaia, she was only looking for a means to an end. The feud with the titans and olympus seems similar to the giants and valhalla in some ways.
I have a theory of how they ended up in Future Ragnarok. When Kratos and Atreus finally reach Jotunheim they walk up some steps and go through some magic portal that leads them to the Mountain. When they return to Mimir they go through it again returning them to current Jotunheim before Ragnarok. But this is my theory
'DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IVE DONE' 'YES...but what will you do now?' I wondered if Thor had caused Faye's death, be it injury in battle or a spell/poisoning.
I translated the writing on the mural where her funeral is. It says “Í dauða kemur verjandi loksins aftur til jötunheims í höndum einherja” It means “In death the guardian finally returns to Jötunheim in the hands of a general.”
that would have messed up the timeline then. if kratos went off to help them then that probably would mess up the chance of atreus or loki having his "kids" who could play an important factor
Sorry kuba. She wasn’t doing battle. She was creating the murals. She knew that she had to create a path for them and since the Jotuns were all already dead/hiding. She had an illness or like you said a battle wound from Thor in the Valhiem Crater. But it would have been a very old but progressive illness/wound. She knew she was dying and had to create the path for Kratos’ redemption and Atreus growth.
Basically Faye saved the gods, because imagine she told Kratos how she actually died? I don’t imagine there would be anyone capable of stopping him from slaughtering the Asier Gods
Tbh i wouldn't mind if the next game is a prequel game that explains the mother and kratos together before loki was born. They must've been together for long before loki was born. It's kinda comforting knowing kratos was happy after leaving his past behind
What if instead she didn't fight in the Ragnarok but instead saw a different timeline of events to happen for example, what if in this timeline faye predicts the future and sees kratos and atreus dying in the fight ragnarok and her fellow giants dying and asgard had won the battle so in her weeks of travel maybe she was preparing for kratos and atreus journey but knows for the timeline not to come to a reality she must take her life or fight in the ragnarok battle as you said all for the purpose to change the future
I have a feeling her death wasn't from a fight from Ragnarok, While time passes differently in Jotunheim, but she could have been there long enough to speak with her people. She may have gain a strange illness that no realm had a cure for, and she was upset because she knew she was going to die. She had not told Kratos she was a Frost Giantess and set out to pave the way for when she knew her husband and her son would travel to Jotunheim by leaving clues in certain places. She also may have seen the mural which showed what would happen after her death and tried to prepare them but her sickness got to her and eventually she died. This is just my theory anyway.
I always questioned why it was never stated in God of War 4 how Faye had died, let alone why Kratos and Atreus never talked about it. That being said, I kind of hope that we will get more information surrounding her death in a future game. Thought that it was weird that we know how Kratos's first wife died, via the story in the first game, but not Faye in God of War 4.
@@2005zhane the writers themselves have no idea how she died, so they ignored that plot point entirely. In Ragnarok, every flashback of her shows that she's healthy and fit. She fought Thor and survived. She fought Kratos when they met and survived. She gave birth to Atreus with no negative effects. She was guiding Kratos around to mark the trees, still showing that she's healthy and strong of body. The only thing we can logically guess is that she committed suicide. She had seen the prophecy of Kratos and Atreus in Jotunheim, so she knew that in order for them to leave their home and start all the things that lead to Ragnarok she would have to die. She knew that her part was over, and it was time for Atreus to step up and become the Champion of the Giants. Plus, I can't imagine someone like Faye actually falling in love with someone like Kratos; she never loved him and only married him so that Atreus would be born and Ragnarok would happen.
also per 6:50 my explanation as to why Faye was acting so strange was because we know she was working with Tyr, and Tyr could travel between realms and to other Pantheons and clearly foresaw the catalyst for Ragnarok being Loki (Atreus), so I think Faye also knew, she probably saw the future as you mentioned but I think what she saw was her son being the catalyst for end times and knew that she had to set out on her journey to prepare both him and Kratos for the events that are going to happen. I don't think she was sad because she saw herself dying with other giants during a "past Ragnarok", I think she knew that her time was nearing it's end and she had to prep Atreus for all to come.
My theory why she died is I think Atreus and Faye were ambushed inside their own home because in the light atreus said that Kratos is never home he’s out hunting or gathering resources but I feel like Faye and Atreus was ambushed and Faye died so Atreus would live because Kratos said that he would sacrifice himself to see Atreus continue alive... maybe Faye felt the same way then Atreus must’ve dealt with the death extremely by crying/screaming and Kratos could’ve heard it and faced off against the people who killed Faye
D C besides Thor and the giants fight on ragnarok maybe he invaded to kill the last known giant before ragnarok occurs... because if baldur came to their house at the start of the game don’t you think his brother could do the same and he has he appeared at the end as an “Easter egg”

At least it would be cool to see some time dilation, that brings her back from the past, to help Kratos and Atreus continue winning the fight against the Aesir in the future.

And how come Odin only sensed the presence of a Giant when Kratos cut out the last tree? When Faye left the forest to mark the road for Kratos and Atreus, he didn't notice anything.
If you look at one Cory’s interviews in 2017, he says that once she helped the Giants escape, she had a vision about her future the only thing that she didn’t know was what her future husband would look like other than a large red mark, and after a couple of years once she had her son who she was going to name Loki she was going to die of a “giants sickness”. She told Kratos that one day she will get sick and never get better but she did not no when it was going to happen. He still agreed to marry her and that’s what happened.
I can’t really remember what video but I remember I seen a bunch of them after the demo game for E3 in 2017. If I find the video I’ll let you. I was originally watching a bunch of videos of Cory and the team discussing the game because I wanted to know how he came to the Norse world I also eventually got the answer to that as well. And another also I can help you about your time travel theory. I personally believe that Thor and the others did kill the giants all those years ago and I absolutely agree with you that time is much different there then here in Midgard, we also need to discuss there bacteria, diseases and differences in skin texture, the level of thickness of the skin, different kinds of blood and many many MANY other things.... anyways I’ll do some digging and I’ll let you know, god speed.
Wouldn’t it be a crazy plot twist if you find out Faye is somehow one of Odin’s children and she saw how Thor treated the Giants and decided to embrace her giant side and fight for them instead.I know that’s really out there but it’s a possibility
I agree with you but Tyr isn’t Loki’s parent and at least acted like he was helping the Aesir. I’m just saying she could be another child of Odin and that’s why she couldn’t let the Aesir know who she is.None of them ever saw Laufey the Just or at least that’s what Mimir said
@@Xxbwachamp445xX the game literally said that she's a Gaint and given the fact that Thor always wanted to find her and kill her I don't think they are related, Tyr on the other hand he's Odin's son and he helped the Gaints to get away from the asiers , I didn't say that Tyr is Loki's parent I only said that instead of making a theory about Faye you said Tyr's story IN GAME
Technically all of Odin’s children are part Giant and Thor wouldn’t know if he is related to her because he has never seen her before he’s only heard of”Laufey the Just” who is the Giant guardian plotting against the Aesir. They didn’t even know if it was a man or a woman and that’s why Baldur thought Kratos was the guardian during their first encounter. @@Xxbwachamp445xX no problem 🙂 I too enjoy these conversations 🤭 I would like to keep chatting about the game 😶 But in game mamir said that: the fact that the Gaints trust in outsider even to Tyr tells you how desperate they were. So he said that they were hopeless enough to trust in outsider even if it was Tyr (that means even if Tyr helped the Gaints ALOT he's still in outsider) he was in outsider, I don't they think they would trust any outsider even Tyr they weren't sure to trust him or not, not ALL Odin's children are part Gaints only the children that he give birth with a Gaint woman they were part Gaints like for an example Thor (and maybe Tyr considering he's gigantic size and his love for the Gaints) so children like baldur ain't part Gaints
I believe that her reasoning for going out for weeks at a time would be her journey setting marks and guides for Kratos and Atreus which was confirmed in the end. Also, the reason why she must’ve seemed “cold” and “tired” to Atreus could be the fact that not only is she just exhausted from her travels but could be the fact that Helheim took a toll on her health if not just having her be really cold. Can’t wait to see what’s next for this series! Also I just seen that the mom setting path idea ain’t as fresh in the comments as I thought lol but yeah my helheim point is a great addition in my opinion
hey kuba ! I think a minor change in your time dilation theory can make it more accurate. I don’t think that “ragnarok” has happened in jotunheim but I believe that the Aesir has found their way into jotunheim and fought with the giants in a battle leading to giants death. that makes more sense because ragnarok is meant to destroy all worlds so that another world can rise from the ashes of these worlds and because of the fact that this battle between giants and Aesir did not have an impact on any of the worlds (except for jotunheim obviously) I believe that this battle was not ragnarok. sorry for my long comment😅 I jus wanted to share my opinion.
The Gaints were probably from a traitor not a war because if there were a war WHY nothing is DESTROYED and ruined , if there were a war the mountains and statues shouldn't be as tidy and sound as they are right when you go to joutanhiem , and they most likely weren't killed by asiers because if Odin really did get to joutanhiem why did he send baldur to get information from the last Gaint , baldur said he only came for answers and he would have left if he told him what he wanted he most likely came to ask : how to go to joutanhiem.
I think one of the reasons she was gone for weeks is next to that she knows what is coming she needed the time to put a the markings up for kratos and atreus so they would follow the right path. See it as docter strange looking at all the possible outcomes. She knew this would be the only way for them to win against the gods like thor and odin and the fall of ragnerok by changing enough in the past to change the future. While she lost the battle in this life, its the only way to win it for the future. Its a sacrifice to change the past so the future will go different. Not just for her husband and son but for her people. Those carved stone ruïnes in the land of the giants wasnt made for kratos and atreus but actually for the giants. She told her people (the giants) not to fear because one day a man and a boy will save all of them from the battle of ragnerok. Its like a prophecy she told the giants and she would be the only sacrifice to save all of them
I think it be an interesting "what if" scenario if Kratos found out who wounded her and the camera slowly moves further and further back away from Kratos almost like its afraid of his rage and while its doing that its loading up the old god of war 3 engines Kratos so while you lose camera control, Kratos reverts back to his blade swinging tazmanian devil self except in Midguard.
I don’t think she died of an physical wound she received but she might of died of two things one an broken heart knowing all the giants were dead and possible old aged in the novel you were reading from you said she was tired and her skin were going pale. She probably was gone for an weeks leaving the golden hand prints for kratos and Atreus to find.
Her death does not make sense if you just sit there and think about. She was a Valkyre they are essentially live forever unless directly killed and even then they can be resurrected. She was a incredibly powerful magic user, had the deep love of the dwarves and as far as we know the giants. The protective ring around their land in the beginning only dissipated when the tree she marked was cut down. Meaning nobody could of poisoned her or killed her, and someone would have to know they where there to use magic to kill her and who knows if that would of even worked with the protective spell she cast. The reality as far as I can see it is that Kratos is the only thing that could/would kill her and that doesn't make sense either because you can tell he loved her deeply and cares about Atreus. Ragnorok is going to have so many huge revelations and I cannot wait.
My problem with this is that Ragnarok is not just a battle between the Jotuun and the Aesir, it is an apocalyptic event to end all things and begin all things anew. More than likely Faye was killed after Odin saw the prophecy that would lead to his ruin. Odin, trying to change fate as he does, took out the person closest to Kratos and Atreus who would have the means to lead them to Jotunheim and begin them on their path without realizing she would do that even after death.
Many of you guys have suggested that Faye went out for weeks to mark they way for Kratos and Atreus and I can't believe I forgot about that. But this still doesn't explain how she does, so all add marking the way to my idea of her being injured in a battle 😉
I Hope in god of war part2

How did she put markings underground when Kratos and Baldur split the ground open..?

Also wasn't the trees in the forest around kratos's hut ( the one kratos cut down) been there for a long time as a shield so that monsters won't get close, that's why atreus was so confused in the start of the game of how monsters got so close to their home.
@@logan2881 bruh it was confirmed by cory, that it was Faye who drew the marks

Also Kratos has many many years of experience when it comes to combat. Even the book has *boy* said. XD
Basically
Ragnarok->New Visions->This Timeline->New Visions->Different timeline
Everytime you see the future and act to avoid it, the prophecies and visions in the past change to match the new series of events and therefore the people in the past with different information take different actions, therefore creating an infinite Ragnarok loop until people stop messing with future sight, It is like the time machine paradox that dictates that eventually the only stable timelines would be ones where time travel does not exist anymore.
THANK YOU you just said the words of my heart😘😘😘😘
Sheldon is tat really u????

Now we have the basics, let's delve deeper:
Being the guardian of Jotunheim, Faye shared a common purpose with the other Jotnar: the demise of the Aesirs.
You might argue that there's a labor where you meet a spirit angered at Thor for killing his mother in a drunken rage, but then again that's only a part of the story, and the spirit clearly tell us that Thor himself came to them to give his condolences for her worshipper.
ended up not being the case lmao

At first I thought her death could have been related to Atreus' earlier sickness. That Faye had to do something that sacrificed herself to cure him such as magically taking the illness into her own body or by paying a mystical price to remove it. There is not much evidence for this since Atreus' does also get sick during the game events. It may not be the same illness brought on by his inner conflict as it was earlier in his life. I do think that would add an interesting dynamic and perhaps be a factor in why Kratos is initially so distant from him.

Gods are immortal in regards to time, they cannot die a “natural death” as they do not feel the consequences of age. They actually get stronger as they age. The only way to kill them is to actually murder them of course. Even kratos is getting stronger believe it or not.

According to norse mythology stories, most giants fell while trying to break the gates to Aesius gods. They couldn't even fight before they die. Some sort of war tactics
Don't forget you are standinf on the highest mountain in ALL the realms. You can only see dead giant Giants, not human sized or smaller ones. As Artreus says "Giants are a race, doesn't mean they arr all very big" (in the mountain). So if an Aesir god is as big as Kratos or even bigger let's say 8' or 240 cm. When Atreus mentions that she was gone for weeks in my mind in thinkig "She must have been painting those markers all around the realms and midgard that we see in our adventure"
For kratos its takes us a few days or so but for Faye, doing some 4D chess, trying to piece together when and where they needed to go for the journey must have taken a while, and maybe at the end of that journey when she goes to jotunheim she did fight, or maybe she sees the dead giants and thats what makes her sad, or maybe its reversed, she has the battle in jotunheim and then backtracks all the steps needed to get there for Kratos and Atreus.
Either way its a bit convoluded how she layed out an EXACT path for them to follow to get to jotunheim hahaha
4D chess lmao, that’s good
My guess is that she somehow suicide so that her plan of sending kratos to save the giants can happen without her telling him. Because if she told him he would not accept it just bcs he doesnt want to do those things anymore. He want to live like a normal man

Thats atleast how I see it
Oh I thought you were pointing to the grief of knowing and then experiencing the battle's end that slowly killed her.
if faye knew that all of this would happen before meeting kratos would that mean that she was looking foward to make shure ragnarok happens? does this means she only saw kratos as a means to an end to have her revenge againts odin for what they will do to her kind?
'DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IVE DONE'
'YES...but what will you do now?'
I wondered if Thor had caused Faye's death, be it injury in battle or a spell/poisoning.
I translated the writing on the mural where her funeral is.
It says “Í dauða kemur verjandi loksins aftur til jötunheims í höndum einherja”
It means “In death the guardian finally returns to Jötunheim in the hands of a general.”
close but it's actually "In death, the defender finally returns to the world of giants in the hands of a single army."
Kratos is like thanos. After wiping so many people, he rested on a little hut, gardening and farming.
It’s weird that she wouldn’t just tell him and have him help them he is more powerful then all of her giants brother and sisters combined
that would have messed up the timeline then.
if kratos went off to help them then that probably would mess up the chance of atreus or loki having his "kids" who could play an important factor
As a fan, I would love to see a Fey backstory DLC game
I understand Kratos would be furious, but why blame *Zeus* again tho? @5:42 🤣🤣🤣
It was for a joke
I wish i had an audio clip of him screaming at thor lol
@@CHeeSechez74 I know that obviously. That's the joke. :3
The fact baldur showed up shortly after her funeral gives this theory some credence.
Every time I hear about Atreus’ life before the GOW4 started, i want to see more of Kratos in his regular life with his son.
I think Kratos might have used the ultimate combo 🤔 🤣
Basically Faye saved the gods, because imagine she told Kratos how she actually died? I don’t imagine there would be anyone capable of stopping him from slaughtering the Asier Gods
"He does all the cooking"
Anyone else pictrue Kratos in a pink aporon making pancakes or am I the only one whos weird ???
I personally think she died from sickness and her time away was her setting the path up of Kratos and Atreus
Same!
Been waiting for this video for the longest
I always questioned why it was never stated in God of War 4 how Faye had died, let alone why Kratos and Atreus never talked about it. That being said, I kind of hope that we will get more information surrounding her death in a future game. Thought that it was weird that we know how Kratos's first wife died, via the story in the first game, but not Faye in God of War 4.
It's because the writers in these games are hacks who have no idea what they're doing. Once you play Ragnarok, you'll see what I'm talking about.
@@johnleonard9102 -- I already played, beaten and Platinum Ragnarok. And I still have no idea what you are talking about.
Great theory kuba!
Im sorry, but i cant imagine Kratos tending to a garden😂😂😂 "....lambs crest.....im the fuckin god of war"

She could have died from a broken heart after seeing all of her brothers and sisters in Jotunheim dead
Wassup Kuba looking forward to your stream
We should get a alternate time line where kratos goes all old school on the gods
D C protection spell against draugr
D C besides Thor and the giants fight on ragnarok maybe he invaded to kill the last known giant before ragnarok occurs... because if baldur came to their house at the start of the game don’t you think his brother could do the same and he has he appeared at the end as an “Easter egg”
Yeah but then kratos would go after the people who killed her, and he would seen a lot more mad
@@WastedGTAZ it's not just for draugr it's to keep everything that isn't an animal away (that includes humans, gods and almost everything that isn't an animal) and it's a illusion spell actually like the comic (the comic that kratos fought in it the berserkers aka the people that turns into bears ) showed us the berserkers saw a mountain but it wasn't a mountain it was the part that kratos and atrues lived in from the forest, they saw a mountain because of the illusion spell
And baldur found us after removing the spell that protects the forest because after you go out with atrues, atrues point out that part of the protection spell is broken it's because kratos cut down the trees that were marked

Thank you for the call out on your video Kaptain. I am honored to be able to support a lore hunter as dedicated as you. And I'm going to have to agree with alot of other people. In her times away, she was probably off, putting all the markings down for Kratos and Atreus. But, I still think she is alive. Probably in some weird way, possibly having to do with Tyr or something. She will probably return at some point in the future game, to help Kratos during a fight. At least it would be cool to see some time dilation, that brings her back from the past, to help Kratos and Atreus continue winning the fight against the Aesir in the future.
Faye be tapping into that Ymir's titan trees and leading an army of rumbling titans
Never did I think kraros would be a gardener
I believe that the giants may have killed her and she knew that her death had to happen so ragnorak could start
It's most likely that she killed herself so kratos and atrues can start their adventure and she's the GAURDIAN they won't harm her they were waiting for her like one of the writings said
Very great theory, I think that this was one of the best theory you've made honestly, keep it up Kuba.
I always makes me want to tear off my ears everytime people refer to the Jotnar as "Giants" when a Jotunn and a Giant are not the same.
In the actual myth yeah they ain't but in Gow however they ARE
@@elevated6941 I'm aware of that, and I love the games so much, but considering they are only called giants because the developers believed that's what they are in actual myth it doesn't make it better.
@@Lupinemancer87 I don't think that they believed that this is Thier name I think they called them Gaints because Gaints are easier to say than jotnars , in fact the word Gaint has nothing to do with Norse mythology
Maybe she was just writing the images on the walls and marking their path before her passing. Like hand marking all of the trees, the ledges, writing the mural. That would take enough time itself. I doubt she fought in Jotunheim.
What's your favourite soundtrack out of the entire series line personally is either the Pandora's Guardian theme which was the giant Minotaur from God of War 1 or brothers of blood God of War 3 or the one that played after you killed the translators in God of War while you're opening the Temple of the Fates
For me it's brothers of blood
Niiice
I actually love the image of Stay home dad Kratos cooking and gardening.
your theory makes sense but there’s one thing that doesn’t: How did Faye go to Joutenheim if Tyr destroyed every bridge to there?
And how come Odin only sensed the presence of a Giant when Kratos cut out the last tree? When Faye left the forest to mark the road for Kratos and Atreus, he didn't notice anything.
@@vivks5837 maybe Odin sensed Atreus he is a part giant afterall
@@vivks5837 Im pretty sure freya put some spell on them for odin not to track them
If you look at one Cory’s interviews in 2017, he says that once she helped the Giants escape, she had a vision about her future the only thing that she didn’t know was what her future husband would look like other than a large red mark, and after a couple of years once she had her son who she was going to name Loki she was going to die of a “giants sickness”. She told Kratos that one day she will get sick and never get better but she did not no when it was going to happen. He still agreed to marry her and that’s what happened.
What interview is this?
Well fellow Gow fan you said the entire story of Tyr in three lines
And I understand that I said Tyr’s story I’m just saying wouldn’t it be crazy if Faye had a similar story. In no way am I saying that i believe it. I enjoy talking talking about this game though so I thankyou for that
@@Xxbwachamp445xX no problem 🙂 I too enjoy these conversations 🤭 I would like to keep chatting about the game 😶
But in game mamir said that: the fact that the Gaints trust in outsider even to Tyr tells you how desperate they were.
Not only was she fighting her battle but she was getting the "path" ready for them
Please do a time line video next. I would like to know how old the Norse universe is. Please
Working on it
It's gotten to a point where I don't care about what's going to really happen and it's just making you guys theories more interesting.
Yaaaay new video 😂✌🏽
I don’t think that “ragnarok” has happened in jotunheim but I believe that the Aesir has found their way into jotunheim and fought with the giants in a battle leading to giants death. that makes more sense because ragnarok is meant to destroy all worlds so that another world can rise from the ashes of these worlds and because of the fact that this battle between giants and Aesir did not have an impact on any of the worlds (except for jotunheim obviously)
I believe that this battle was not ragnarok. sorry for my long comment😅
I jus wanted to share my opinion.
DAYUM That should happen
We need a scene of Kratos with oven mitts and a pink quilt-pattern apron making something. It’s necessary for the timeline.
We all love God of war
“I wasn’t the only parent with secrets.”
Heart attack from too much spartan action, if you know what I mean
My problem with this is that Ragnarok is not just a battle between the Jotuun and the Aesir, it is an apocalyptic event to end all things and begin all things anew. More than likely Faye was killed after Odin saw the prophecy that would lead to his ruin. Odin, trying to change fate as he does, took out the person closest to Kratos and Atreus who would have the means to lead them to Jotunheim and begin them on their path without realizing she would do that even after death.
