- We spent a few days slow traveling in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador. If you have only a couple of days in this city, go explore the historic center on the first day. On the next day, take a trip to El Boqueron National Park to see an extinct volcano with two craters!
Is San Salvador safe to travel?
San Salvador used to carry the burden of being called one of the most dangerous cities in the world. However, now they are working on changing that perspective. We traveled around the city in public transport and never felt unsafe. In fact, many Salvadorans went out of their way to come to check with us if we need anything.

Fun fact: india has 3 times the population of all of latin america combined. India also has twice the population of all of north America and south America also combined. Latin america must feel desolate to an indian. 😂

@ParadiseCatchers I think the entire population of el salvador is like the population of a smaller Indian city. It's crazy to think about. I hope you had a great time.
It is. Since most countries have their population highly concentrated in their cities, it becomes somewhat similar. Although it is still quite different, just creates a feeling of being in a city.
We had a great time. People are very welcoming.
