      She's pretty amazing! I'm 62 and just bought the exact same van. Leaving the electrical to someone else, as well as the van fan, but her video's will help me alot. Something you love in the end is worth it. I pray she has an amazing journey where ever she goes.

    Lindsay, this is the first of your videos I've come across, and I have to say this channel is criminally underrated. The video production is fantastic, I really enjoy the way you bring the viewer on the journey, and you're just a badass for doing this whole project. Even though I've been learning electrical engineering for over a year, I learned a lot about the practical applications from this. Thanks and keep up the good work, I have no doubt your channel will take off!

    Mom is right! You are doing an awesome job. This is the first time that I've seen a vidio of yours, and I am really impressed. I also have a Dad kind of like yours. My 95 year old Dad is just like yours with a level. The level is a great tool, but only if the van is on level ground, and the van itself is level. Daddy is a master carpenter, and I try to live up to his standards (which are REALLY high). I have a 2003 Ford Econoline that I am going to start building. I plan to use a Jackery 2000 for my power, and four 100 watt solar panels in top. You did just what I plan to do with the different charging sources for your power. I can't wait to see more of your videos. I love the hat, also. I have a saying that I have lived by, and you are proof of it. "Were there is a woman, there is a way!"

    Just fyi with the rotary switch. You don't need to crimp a connector onto the end to terminate it. Just strip the cable, twist it and screw straight onto the cable.

      I do know that haha but with all the back and forth of removing and replacing them, it was eventually worth it to do the quick disconnect!

    Amazing job!!! I loved watching your thought process and progress through the wiring! And honestly I am incredibly glad you had an electrical engineer on your side. Wiring is definitely the kind of thing you'd like an expert's double check on!

    There's a good possibility that I buy a van within the next year and this the best I've seen to how this actually works, mostly solo. I am very appreciative of this series.

      Yay, glad to hear it! My goal was to be realistic, and to make it a point to show and explain all the things I was confused about, since those were the issues I couldn’t find info about online!

      @@LindsayDaly yes!!! OMG 😳 that's partly why I started with my SUV, I felt like I wasn't getting all the info. This has been sooo helpful. I can't wait to see your finished home and I hope to meet you in the road sometime

    Love your videos and the cap! When you were explaining the electrical system I felt like I was back in AP Physics. (Which means I am so very confused.) 🤣 I know if I ever get to this part, I would purchase a Jackery 1500 and Solar Saga 100W panels and call it a day.

    • @LindsayDaly
      @LindsayDaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s so funny because I would say the same thing to people, like it reminds me of the problems we had to calculate in physics class - which I definitely did not understand very well at the time…

    woohoo! I will say it is always a giggle watching the indicators show charging, be it solar, DC/DC or Shore Power. I didn't see you use grommets on your PV wires coming through the gland .. Something to add in if you haven't already.

    would you be able to link me to whatever site you used to figure out how to wire the inverter to the car alternator? i have 2 solar panels on my room but it would be nice to have the alternator on days where i dont get enough sun for a full charge
