There was also an Enemy Ace one-shot from 1990, that reprinted early EA stories drawn by Joe Kubert. The cover was a reprint from Showcase 57 and it was clearly published to promote the George Pratt graphic novel. (Pratt wrote an introduction in the comic.) I got both the Special and Showcase 57 (along with a few other books) the one time I met Joe in Kansas City.

I'm guessing the Aussie LCS that's closing down is Dee's Comics in Canberra. That was my LCS too. They started back in the '80s. As for Aussie mailorder services, I recommend Comicbookeroo in Victoria and Kings Comics in Sydney.

The Radium cover was part of one of the premium art collections in the history of the hobby. The owner was a true fan of golden age art, especially EC art. His family was indeed the beneficiary of the auction's proceeds.

Thanks for mentioning my post. Another great fun episode.
To answer a couple of your queries.
We Live near Canberra. I do have a full run of Gold Key Star Trek and Green Hornet. Missing One issue of Get Smart.
You mentioned Harley Yee. He is in Australia at the moment I caught up with him at Supanova in Sydney last weekend. Managed to fill some gaps in my Turok Son of Stone run. I have known Harley for a long time.
As other people have posted (thanks) I am looking at the local options available for comics.

Guys, do you know that Foxhole cover is a swipe?
“Jack Kirby would dip into his reference morgue every so often. Jack’s gorgeous cover to Foxhole #1 was copied from a war reporter’s painting. A wonderful Boy’s Ranch vista was swiped from a painting. A Police Trap splash was taken from an old photograph.” - Kirby Museum

There are now generally two LCSs in each of the state capitols in Australia with a few more scattered around the biggest regional cities. StarTrekStu is spot-on, for most people here paying $8.99 for a standard Marvel or DC comic is simply too much and represents money better spent on bills and groceries. Kings Comics in Sydney is very good for mail orders, I've been a customer since the company started in the lounge room of George the owner's parents' home in the early 80s.
Micronauts: The New Voyages had a distinctive and very different tone to the original series. It took a few issues for me to get into the title but it was ultimately a rewarding read. RIP Peter B. Gillis, I didn't know about his loss until you mentioned it John.
George Pratt's Enemy Ace graphic novel, War Idyll is an amazing one-man show in which Pratt does everything except lettering. I also recommend Garth Ennis' two-parter War In Heaven (Russ Heath's beautiful art graces #2), set in World War II and featuring a brief appearance by Sgt. Rock.
Guys, how about a focus in an upcoming episode on Bruce Jones? He was quite a powerhouse among the 1980s Independents like Pacific and Eclipse, packaging titles for them as well as contributing stories himself as writer and artist.

Kings Comics in Sydney & All Star Comics in Melbourne are both good LCS’, Alternate World’s also in Melbourne is one of the longest running stores and have back issues that go back decades. A couple of suggestions for the Aussie fan looking for a new LCS.

Comicbookeroo is excellent. In Victoria somewhere, mailorder only.

I would love to own a copy of the Flaming Question Mark - $300 seems awfully cheap for a book that's very tough in grade. Enemy Ace would also appear in back-up stories of Unknown Soldier in the early 1980s. His stories in Star Spangled War Stories were great. I can't believe Normalman made an appearance in an episode! Could Ms. Tree be next?

Members only shows are the best 2.99 I spend a month. It's really like hanging with friends talking about the stuff we love. No drama, no negativity, just fun.

For the person inquiring about buying/investing in cover less books. I would recommend they put em up on the market and turn a profit the way they are. I'm sure someone has the other half of the book and will be willing to pay up on eBay

Kirk Hammett from Metallica should have brought that Black Cat OA. He collects a LOT of horror memorabilia and he definitely has the money to purchase it.

That copy of normal man reminds me very much of an old twilight zone episode where a man lands on what he believes to be earth and ends up becoming a zoo exhibit for the people on the planet. They all resemble different creatures and he is the only one that is “normal”. This book sure sounds like a rip off of that episode. What do you guys think? Am I off base?

Omg the ad pops up during your show about someone talking about her husband taking medicine for horses and I think she is talking how great in bed because of the horse medicine. I suppose u guys can’t control that. But how disgusting?

UF4 variant should be around 4k in a 9.8. Severely overpriced book.

The problem is this is not the real Spiderman. Only Peter Parker is the real deal.

Peter is not the real deal spiderman is all African. Then marvel put the evidence in
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Vol.2 #48(2/03)1:KWAKU ANANSI/8th EZEKIEL. And that's because if you study Ancient Egyptian folklore this spiderman character is older than Jesus 😂 So stop the peter is better because he's the original because he's not!
