The album documents a sparkling and joyous performance from one of the 20th Century’s guitar greats and his band: Miquette Giraudy - synthesiser, vocals; Andy Anderson - drums; Paul Francis - bass, vocals; Dave Stewart - guitar.
Starting with the only version in Steve’s archive of a live performance of Earthrise, the lovingly remastered tapes include never-before-heard versions of 19 classic SH tracks.
“The level of musical performance is pretty astonishing, and my lead guitar performance is definitely at a peak - totally scorching in places.” - Steve Hillage
2CDs in 6 panel digipak with 12 page booklet including liner notes from Steve and previously unseen photographs.
Thank you for all your support

Great review I really enjoyed it ( being a Gong freak since 1975)

Thanks for the review Phil and for bringing this album to our attention. I saw him at Leicester DeMontfort Hall on 28th October 1977 with Glenn Phillips in support and we received a free single on the way in. Steve had the A side with Leylines to Glassdom and the B side featured a track by Glenn Phillips. Saw him again at the same venue on 27th February 1979 with Telephone opening for him. Two great gigs. I shall investigate this album. Great video, highly informative and presented in your relaxed inimitable style. Thanks Phil.

many thanks for the notification. Managed to see the man over a dozen times during the mid to late 70s and the recent tour showcasing his 70s material. Just wish he would create new music in this vein as System 7 does not really 'do it' for me.

Nice review Phil. Love Steve and own everything else, looking forward to this one. Palm trees is my personal favourite track of Steve's so looking forward to hearing that in particular ✌️

Excited to check this one out! I've only recently gotten into the whole jazz/space rock thing through Can and Gong, and thus Steve's work - I've gotten a few Gong records and Steve's second solo album, and excited to check out more.

Have to get this one! Saw him in '76 supporting Queen at Hyde Park and then in '78 at the Marquee. The latter was a gobsmacker of a gig where his guitar work was incendiary. Glad you highlighted this one and let's hope for a reissue of the box set.

Love Steve Hillage. Saw him in Poole in 78. Odd mix of folk there. National health were support. Very strange. Really innovative guitarist. Looking forward to listening to this one. Cheers Phil, Chris
