I found the part on cold winters really funny. I lived in Spain, and in Spain I was always cold in the winters. To my bones! Inside the house, in friends houses, in restaurants, in shops, theatres, in the train and in the bus -every where.
In Denmark you go into the bus and it is warm, if you are could outside, you go in the first shop and say: I don't want to buy anything, I just want to get warm. And the answer: You are welcome to stay as long as you want.
In Denmark, I am never cold in the winter time 😊

Actually I think buildings a well insulated in southern Europe as well.
Otherwise it would get very expensive to stay cool indoors in summer.
But while aircon and outside blinds are common in the south, in Denmark it's more common to have a heating system that can keep the indoors above 22°C even when it's -15C outside...
And you wouldn't see a shop owner rejecting a potential customer to the streets in a 40°C heatwave in Portugal or Spain either I believe. They'd let people come around to cool down in the aircondition.
While most food stores have A/C it's a rather new phenomenon for private homes to have two-way heatpumps here up north.

It's a good place. Great for bringing up children. Winter months can be difficult, even for Scandinavians. But there's so much else that makes up for the volatile weather.

I completely agree! Denmark is indeed a fantastic place! I don't have children yet, but I can't wait to have that experience! While the winter months can be challenging (and I struggle with that a lot too!), the quality of life, the sense of community, and various cultural offerings contribute to making it a wonderful place to live! 🥰

You may know that we had a Portuguese Princess/Queen in Denmark: Berengària (1198 -1221)! She was married to King Valdemar II and became the mother of King Eric IV.
She is buried in St. Bendts Church in Ringsted, one of the two major Royal Burials in Denmark (The other is of course Roskilde Cathedral).
In late 1800 the Royal Burials in the floor became excavated and a Cast was made of her cranium, showing that she had been extremely beautiful, as also Valdemar's second wife (Berengària's head had for some reason been replaced with a stone in the coffin, and had been put to the side?)! They have the casts exhibited in a minor room in the Church.

Thanks again for your comment; it's always wonderful to learn a bit more about Denmark's history, especially in this specific situation that intersects with Portuguese history! ☺️☺️🙏🏼

It's not impossible to find a company that has English as corporate language...
But i will admit that knowing some Danish will help you, both when dealing with authorities and around the lunch table.
Even if you try to strictly enforce English... the danes will recognise the accents or references and switch to Danish when you're not looking.
And if your job includes customer-/client-contact you will need to know a little Danish.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Portugal and Denmark are unique in their own ways. While both countries have their charm, there are some notable differences. Portugal is known for its warm climate, vibrant culture and good food! The cost of living is generally lower compared to many other Western European countries. On the other hand, Denmark offers a high quality of life, a strong social welfare system, and a more temperate climate. It's essential to consider factors like weather, language, and lifestyle preferences when deciding where to move. If you have specific questions about Portugal or need more information, feel free to ask! Best of luck with your decision to potentially move 🥰

I can speak only of Copenhagen vs Lisbon:
In Lisbon it's potentially warmer outside but the houses are freezing cold if not new build.
Food in Denmark way better and affordable when living and working in Denmark.
When I go out to eat in Lisbon prices are exaggerated. No idea how the locals are able to afford it. I live in Spain where you get more bang for your buck. It used to be the other way around but Portugal has become increasingly expensive, especially in coastal regions. I prefer Spain.

I have heard it's due to a lot of people especially Americans have moved to Portugal making it way more expensive , that's always a challenge for locals when your country become popular , certainly also true for Denmark especially Copenhagen and Århus , - the country need people from outside so I'm not complaining that people want to move here , however it does make it way more expensive @@henrik4438
