I'm a big Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney proponent. Give her a fun adventure in Europe. Give Apollo the DLC case this time around and if Phoenix has to be in let his assistant for a case be Trucy, I need father daughter bonding.
Being totally honest, this is also probably my #1 hope for AA7, an Athena based game with smaller amounts of the others injected in there
@@Barbieronpa I love Phoenix and Apollo but their stories are pretty much complete and I don’t see anymore room to grow from them.
Athena’s still a blank canvas I wanna see her grow into her own as a lawyer.
The only reason I don't want an Athena game is because she's tied to the mood matrix, which I personally just don't like. Why are we allowing this device that only the defense can use and analyze in court? Why are we justifying it as a "therapy session" when we're in a public place with an opposing council that's hostile to the witness? Why are Athena's subjective interpretations of emotions taken as fact? It's always so forced and drags down every trial Athena appears in.
On the other hand, I think she's the only one of the 3 main protags with any room to grow. So, I think she's well positioned to lead a new game, I just wish she weren't shackled to the mood matrix lol.
Phoenix lead with a Trucy assistant role is long overdue, though. Definitely agreed there.
yeah i hope athena gets her own game so she can finally be treated respectfully by the games and doesnt suffer the same fate as apollo
@@xxProjectJxxI’ve never understood people calling the Mood Matrix illogical when there’s spirit channeling in most of the main games (driving most of the OT’s plot and AA6’s too) 😂 and also prosecutors who whip and throw coffee-most of which is never scrutinized as much as people scrutinize the Mood Matrix.
Not to mention Phoenix, who was disbarred at the time, being allowed to head up the new jurist system in AA4 (as short-lived as that was, he was still allowed to implement it and set up a case with a verdict that stood even after the dismantling of the system).
The Mood Matrix isn’t that egregious or illogical compared to everything else
An Athena vs. Franziska case is slightly more plausible than you give it credit for, since i remember seeing an interview with one of the series producers who expressed interest in that exact scenario

Athena Cykes Ace Attorney should absolutely be the next main game.
I also think the main prosecutor rival should be the prosecutor who convicted Blackquill during UR-1, would be a good "final boss" for her to overcome and put the ghosts of her past behind her like Apollo with Garan or Phoenix with Dahlia.
And the judge being Juniper.

My ultimate desire for aa7 is for Robin Newman to be the tutorial prosecutor as a new prosecutor taking on her first case, kind of a reversal of the usual green attorney we get.
The Paynes have also been done a lot, there's little to explore with them at this point, as such even if not Robin a rookie prosecutor for the tutorial case would be an interesting new dynamic.
I think this would work especially well for an Athena game.
Well, Winston did mention he did have a daughter at some point, so it's possible she could take on the role of the tutorial prosecutor. Unless they do a complete surprise and make her the main rival and she's not the pushover like the other two Payne's.
I would love that, but the writers of AA seem to really want to avoid spoiling past cases whenever possible, and Robin's very appearance would be a considerable spoiler for 5-3. Still, one can dream.

This is so sad because this was like a day after the SGF... sadly nothing ace attorney related was announced.
I don't think it would be that unusual if Capcom saved a major AA announcement for the Nintendo direct, but I really am not getting my hopes up. It's possible, but pretty unlikely.

I’m down for an Athena Cykes trilogy. It probably won’t happen, but I lowkey want Franziska to have a reappearance in the Ace Attorney series. + at least one case that features Apollo in Khura’in.

What if Capcom surprises up and they announce Kristoph Gavin: Ace Attorney? it'll take place between Phoenix's disbarement and Zak's murder.
Personally, I think it'd make more sense for a Klavier Gavin AAI game to take place some time after Apollo Justice, the overall story revolving around Klavier having to come to terms with the fact his bandmate and even his own brother are murderers, the final case could even feature the return of Kristoph who's been accused of another murder.
I just want the next AA game to focus on Athena. She was done so dirty in SoJ and was treated like an afterthought. She wasn't used much in any cases she assisted in, she gets one case where it doesn't have anything to do with the main story, and she's not even allowed to help in the SoJ DLC case. It's time to give her the spotlight at last now that Apollo is on his own.
Honestly even in Dual Destinies where she was probably the most important of the 3 main attorneys, it never felt like they really let her be an attorney on her own. She felt more like an assistant than anything else for the vast majority of the game. It'd be great to finally see her get a spotlight.
@ajmoment8091 I can be forgiving seeing how it was her debut game and she played a bigger role in it overall. The same can't be said for SoJ. They treated Athena like an afterthought or the team hated her and wanted nothing to do with her.

Oh what's interesting is that quote about RE engine. This is definitely a series that will never take on a realistic artstyle, so I'm excited to see how that will impact the visuals in this engine. Probably some insane character animations never possible before.
As for the likelihood of the game, in confident. GA chronicles, ghost trick and AJ collection were all so quick after each other, they're clearly trying to drum something up for the adventure game space and ace attorney related content in particular. At this point its a question of when and not if.
Edit: Defendant Judge is best plan. Might be a "final case in final game" idea though lol
I'd like the attorney facing an AI prosecutor. It could be interesting to tackle the blind faith towards AIs.
There could even be AI-generated… Evidence. Spot the weird fingers!
Considering all we know about Athena, a main game that stars her as the playable protagonist with Phoenix in the assistant role (and in reverse) would make the most sense to me, considering her current characteristics.
I also wouldn't say no to a final case where Athena will have to make do without Phoenix, possibly for the final stretch, as a result of those characteristics.
I hope Iris comes back and go on a date with Feenie. I starved for it....
Well we did get something Ace Attorney related. But not Ace Attorney 7. But it has been something fans have been wanting for a very long time. Ace Attorney Investigations Collection. Investigations 2 now has an english localization.
One fanfic tier idea I've had is what I call Ace -Attorney- Judge, where instead of defending a client or figuring out who to prosecute, we're in the judge's seat, listening to both sides of the arguments and determining for ourselves whether or not the defendant is guilty. I think that might be an interesting change in pace, but it would require some heavy re-formatting in order for the idea to actually work (otherwise, we might just end up with a more complex version of That's Not My Neighbor).
Ngl it would feel like an entirely different game

Phoenix vs Klavier without the Forgery Business is something I still want to see. Also One Khuri’an Case with each game. Also Female Prosecutors name idea since Capcom loves Name Puns, a name idea: Ivy Gacha (I’ve Got Ya). If it is a male, Ivan Gacha (I have Got ya)
It's cool seeing this video knowing as of writing this that the miles edgeworth duology coming out it's like there gearing uo for ace attorney 7 by giving us everything single game execpt the layton collab (I'd love if they brought that to console too)

In all seriousness I think the next AA game might be a "reboot" for the series, sort of like how Apollo Justice took the series on a new direction. I say this because with all the games being rereleased now, to makes sense for Capcom to drum up attention with a new protagonist. Not saying I WANT this to happen, but I think it is a possibility.
I'm curious what they'll do with Athena moving forward, like Dual Destinies was put in the "Apollo Justice Trilogy" even though Athena has a lot of story relevance, so if we get a hypothetical "Athena Cykes Trilogy" in the future would it include Dual Destinies? Or will Athena just be relegated to a side character? And if she is a side character will they Bring to Mood Matrix back or will they just write Athena out of the story to avoid having to include it? The writers could either do something really cool or really terrible and frankly I'm a little nervous
As of now we have every game in the series easily available on new consoles, with the exception of the spin-off: Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney. If they aren't planning on bringing this game back, which may be out of their hands given the fact that Level-5 would also need to be involved, then the only thing that they can do at this point is release a new game or kill the series.

The second reason why the wait for the re-release of the second trilogy is because game 5 and 6 as never been traduce in multiple languages, so when they see between 2019 and 2022 than the license was getting more attention with the release of the original trilogy in 2019 in multiple country like France and Germany they probably make a break with the development of the 7 to get the game at the European audience

I agree with your assessment we will get it announced before the end of 2025, and I like your ideas! honestly I'd be perfectly fine with it being called PW:AA but the focus is on Athena, I think SoJ was a satisfactory Apollo-centric game, Wright's involvement felt less like limiting Apollo's potential and more like a cherry on top. but also, we never got a full Athena game like AJ:AA, so maybe two big cases won't be enough for Athena like it was with Apollo in SoJ. also I think it's very likely Apollo will get the fourth short case in Kuhra'in, and Nahyuta or Klavier make sense as his opponent unless the main prosecutor is another international prosecutor like Nahyuta, 6-4 gave us fan service with Blackquill, so I can see them repeating this with Nahyuta or Klavier. lastly, with Franziska and Gumshoe, I think it's most likely we will see one in the main game and thee other in the DLC, I vote Gumshoe for mainline while Franziska as the prosecutor in the DLC case

Ughh Athena ended up so low on the AA Japan fandom character vote I really doubt she would get her own game but. I want a female main character so badly!! Theres not a single one, not even in the spinoff games, except for a few cases like 3-1, 3-4, G2-1 and 6-3 where you play as a female side character😔

Ah why why why!!! Really to start the video ya had to say your doing a class why is it everyone I watch is in college or university, this is making me nervous for my first day of college in 2days!!
Literally never coming. It's been 7 years since DGS2 and it's much more likely that the Investigations Spinoffs will be remastered (which means AAI2 will get localized) as opposed to the mainline getting a long overdue new game. It's just as asinine as having Donkey Kong Country's last release be Tropical Freeze all the way back in 2014.
Spirit of Justice is hack material. The way it concludes its story makes it difficult to continue in any way, and not because it had a good conclusion. Rather, it doesn't. Apollo is isolated from his family in the US, so he will never learn the truth of his lineage. Athena is so unpopular in Japan that she is highly unlikely to be the star, even though she is the only true candidate waiting for development. Khura'in being underdeveloped in SoJ doesn't warrant it being the focus of the next game, because that was, as you mentioned, SoJ's story gimmick.
My prediction for AA7 is that it's going to focus on Apollo yet again, shafting Athena even more even though she is BEGGING for promotion to MC. I hope that's not going to happen, since SoJ did at least give Apollo an arc that was resolved.
As a college grad, I remember Organic Chemistry quite fondly, and I wish you the best with your upcoming classes!
It was already leaked to be coming when the Apollo Trilogy was leaked so it will happen lol.
I have one word for you.
Reboot.
The recent trilogy was a mess (though i admit i didnt even play SoJ, yet) I like some elements of the trilogy, i like Apollo and Athena as characters but i do think Phoenix is the heart and soul of the series and is the fan favourite boy for a reason. Capcom not wanting to commit to a story that spans multiple games and choosing to fresh slate character development/not carry on cliffhangers/plot points for whatever reason has made the franchise a mess, it also feels like they've went the soap opera route of changing a characters personality too much to make a new story (Phoenix for example going for Case 3 - 5 to 4 -4 (Where he loses his badge) to 4 - 1. The character changes too much, he's also strange as a whole in DD.
Excuse the essay on my issues with 456, i think capcom can take notes from TGAA and what that did right and potentially do a reboot, rehash but change stories significantly for a modern era. I dont think they are bold enough to take away characters especially after so long. However i do feel like a full reboot or an alternative timeline story could work.

Ace attorney got no spoiler rule. Franziska and Gumshoe are now investigation character. So its unlikely they will bring them back cuz spoilers.
