NGL, I kinda like that circe is not such an intense fight, mostly because it feels nice to have a breather from those huge intense fights. I think her understatedness is what helps make Zeus _more_ intense just because the lull between the intensity of ruthlessness and of thunderbringer would have been too much too close together otherwise

It's really cool and interesting how a lot of your points for not loving the circe saga as much as the others are the exact reason its my favorite. I like how the saga is a lot lower stakes than the rest of the show because it provides a lot of much needed breathing room. It's like the beach day saga for the musical. Its a saga that still maintains a level of conflict while still being the only one that doesn't have any particularly dark moments that are really heavy.It's also the saga that I think has the most jokes within it. Its especially fitting considering its coming right after a really heavy song Ruthlessness, where the vast majority of Ody's crew just died in a harrowing way. It's also right before the underworld saga which is a saga that unlike any of the others except cyclops saga doesn't have any songs that are lighter in this way. there is something heavy hitting in every song of the underworld saga, which makes sense as it's the saga that closes out act one. Circe saga serves as a great cool down and transition saga in between those big moments. I'm someone who really needs and benefits from having those easier to get through parts of a story or else I get burnt out on the story very hard. But that does go to serve your fair criticism that by that nature these are weaker hitting parts of the story. That's just something that for some like me would be a plus but still reasonably for fans like you are a minus.

totes agree on the underworld saga being one of the best, i had tried to get into epic before, with all the popular audios fro tiktok and suff, but only really got into it with the underworld saga (though all the rest have grown on me, like the entirety of the ocean saga and most of troy) So excited for vengeance saga to be released later this month!!

My favorite song has been since I've heard it and always will be Ruthlessness. It perfectly sums up the themes of the musical while having the second best vocal performance (poseidon is really good, but Scylla is better), phenomenal electric guitar and great animatics.

I would have liked if you had mentioned how the Circe saga diverges from the original Epic. In the original he DOES give in and stays with her for a year and even has at least 2 sons with her.

Got into epic fairly recently, just caught up on the wisdom saga today, and this is such a good recap and analysis of the songs so far! Caught a lot of things i didn't on my listen

While I adore Polites' death and how it relates back to Ody, I think there is a far more interesting place he could have died instead, Ruthlessness, hear me out, have Survive not about fighting the cyclops but scurrying around it trying to escape and well, survive, Polites lives and there aren't any casualties. Instead of Remember Them it's Remember This, a group song featuring Ody, Polites, Eurylochus, and briefly Athena, where after wounding Polyphemus and escaping everyone else wants to finish the cyclops off but Polites insists a kind gesture such as sparing it's life will make it rethink attacking next time, the Cyclops will Remember This and in turn it and it's brothers may now know a little compassion. In doing this it's Polites that announces to the Cyclops who they are "to clear the air." Cut to later, after several songs that honestly probably wouldn't change much, maybe a throwaway line in Keep your friends close about Polites trying to stop them, we get to Ruthlessness, where Poseidon drowns all of Ody's crewships, and asks for an apology tauntingly, and before Odysseus can answer, Polites does, explaining his idea of mercy being an act of kindness, for this effort Poseidon drowns him on the spot , in front of Ody, before trying to deal the final blow to his ship, Odysseus proceeds to open the bag and the musical goes on as normal, except this time his First casualties are huge in number, his best friend who convinced him to make The Mistake Of Mercy now dead by that very act. 600, 44,...43 Men left. (Please note this is just a fun thought I had that would arguably be more interesting to me specifically, I still Love EPIC and understand why Polites dies where he does)

This is the first I’m hearing of the discourse around the apology to Poseidon. I thought it was pretty clear that Poseidon did accept the apology and that’s why he left Ody and the other 42 alive. He was never going to let them go without paying a price.

I haven't watched a majority of these shows either. Star vs. and Gravity Falls being only two i've watched to completion. I've watched a couple episodes of Invader Zim as well as the Netflix movie, and one comic. It's pretty good and i love the characters. I watched a little of ppg girls as kid, but not alot since i couldn't catch it on tv a bunch of times. I've heard of My Life as a Teenage robot but never watched it until a few episodes recently just to get more of an idea about it. Rick and Morty/South Park i know through memes or from Gravity falls references. Making fiends, i did recently check out as well and i've seen other people make videos with it. So i can at least say that the writing for the characters is very accurate to what they're like in the show. And i still say Morty is Star's killer, and Mabel and Jenny are being framed. Also i recommend checking out the character profiles for potential clues or hints for theories. Also, i feel a bit of this series os inspired by DR Another since the monokaller functions work similar to SDRA2, unless it was like that in another fangan i haven't seen yet, but i thought it was interesting that it worked similar to that fangan. I'm also making theory videos/posts for this series too for potential victims, killers, traitor, mastermind(s), and plot twists. If you're interested.
