  • Join Si and Tim as they return to the bottle dump in search of complete and rare treasure that our ancestors threw away. We find old bottles, pipes, pot lids, teapots, ornaments - the list goes on. More Dump Digging • EYEBALLS, potions and ...
Tim already has a few of these and asked me after the dig - Did I want to sell it to a viewer? So I said sure! So here you have it, an original Victorian pot lid found by us in a London dump that could be yours! ebay.us/j5xVbv?cmpnId=5338273189

Interesting factoid about The Swan, highwaymen and origination of the terms "One for the road" and "On the wagon." Life's an endless journey on a road to knowledge. I just love learning how old sayings, wive's tales and superstitions I grew up hearing about, came to be. Lovely selection of bottles and bits you have there. I only wish we had an ages old dump in my proximity. There is a secret place, near a river, in what is now a local park and marina, where in the 1930's through about the 1960's, people would dispense with their unwanted items and trash. The strangest thing I've found there, is an old Indian motorcycle, which must have given up it's ghost and was left to decay amidst the cast offs. A tree has now claimed it for it's own, winding it's roots through, over and around it. It's really sort of surreal to see. Left unbothered, Mother nature seems to quietly and calmly, reclaim everything. Great video as usual. See you next week.

From Victorian toot to modern treasure. Great!
9 years ago on 24th May I stumbled upon a celebration for Bob Dylans 70th birthday at the location for Subteranean Homesick Blues. About 20 poets and musicians were playing and reciting Dylon-esque prose and covers of his songs. We stayed for a couple of hours, it was a surreal and somewhat magical chance find on a sunny Sunday London afternoon. Incidentally, I think the alley just down from there has London's last remaining gas powered street lamp. I could be wrong with that 'fact' though TBH. It's somewhere around there.

spinny2010 there's around 1500 functioning gas lights in London still but the one you saw is the last surviving sewer gas light which burns excess biogas from the sewer. Pretty cool safety device that also supplies free lighting 👍🍺

I especially love the tiny bottles you are finding. They would be my favorite. I could collect a lot of those because they don't take up as much space. I would like to find the colored ones too. Cobalt blue, red, yellow , green and aqua are my favorite color. I would also like to collect the colored sea glass and marbles.. Mostly smaller bits to put in jars and bottles. I have lots of jars and bottles filled with seashells I have handpicked from beaches all over Florida.

Another interesting collection of cast-offs from the past - I'd love to know what those oldtimers who threw all that away would think to you guyz digging it back up! That Award certainly has potential to be an award winner! Stay safe with all that glass! 🎃🐾🦘🐱‍🏍👍😉

I received a note from you yesterday but my spasy fingers killed it before I could read it ( 5/22/22). It was routed thu Nicola White. Anyway, sorry I screwed up but since my stroke I know that only one screw up day a day would be a miracle. LOL Anyway, greetings from Arkansas and thanks for your attempt at responding. You’re a dandy. Thanks again ol buddy.
