Thank you for the excellent, and rewarding review of the Saint Victor! I just got one a few weeks ago, and took it out for the first time to break it in. I’ve heard several methods suggested for ‘break in’. If you could, (as I haven’t searched yet) for the break-in (if it’s really necessary) I do know it’s crucial to clean after the first round (perhaps 20-30) rounds, but running a rod and patches through the first 3 shots. Shoot one, clean, shoot, one clean, etc… Any new help is appreciated.
Thank you for your response! I don’t think it’s necessary to clean your rifle anymore than 2-3 times a year, depending on how much range time you give it. Oiling the rifle is much more important! Enjoy your rifle, and practice the fundamentals. These skills are perishable if not practiced!!
I love my Saint Victor. It was my first AR and I haven't had a single problem whatsoever so far at 1500 rounds. The muzzle brake is basically perfect. I've been shooting 14"x14" targets at 50 yards and my red dot doesn't even move off of the paper during rapid fire. Also being able to tighten the upper and lower together with the screw under the grip is fantastic. It's a slick and well made rifle and it was well worth the $1200
Hey thank you for your comment! I too love mine! I have roughly the same amount of rounds through mine as you do, and zero failures. It just performs. Shoot flat, and love the trigger. Look for a new review coming soon as I have just purchased another AR!🤙🤙
Initially mine was nothing but problems I had to send it back to Springfield twice. Still had issues until i changed the bcg from the Springfield bcg to a BCM bcg and now it finally runs smooth. Rifle feels great in the hands but they could tighten up on qc a bit. Not trying to knock it cause I really like it just frustrating for the first year.
I bought one of these beauties as a birthday present to myself back in August. I've shot numerous AR style rifles, but this was the first one I've ever owned. It's a beautiful rifle, very well made, and really practical. I still have the flip up iron sights on mine, but I have no problem with them. Are they as good as a dot? No, but they stay true to where I zero them and I happen to.pike old school irons on a light rifle. Speaking of "light", my Saint Victor is very easy to manipulate and aim, and the recoil is virtually non existent. The muzzle brake on it definitely does it's job; it's not there just for looks. My first day in the range with it, me and a few friends put upwards of 300.rounds thru it, and it chugged a long like a champ. My only complaints were that the barrel gets HOT after a couple magazines, and the safety switch vibrated loose on me. A little loctite and an Allen wrench fixed it in 30.seconds, though. The only things I've done with mine is replacing the angled foregrip that mine came with with a vertical grip (makes the rifle extremely easy to keep on target, and keeps your hands away from that hot barrel) and dropped a Radian Raptor charging handle in it that a friend of mine gave me. The only malfunctions I've had with mine are all ammo related; I had a .223 hand load get stuck in my chamber at one point, but inspecting the case after I got it free showed a dent in the case that caused it to bulge and stick. Second malfunction was shooting some "mystery" ammo a friend offloaded on me. One spent case got hung in the bolt when it tried to extract, and then just got pushed back into the chamber. Quick fix, and the case showed damage on the head where the extractor stuck to it. I've put over 500 rounds thru mine, and have had no actual gun related issues.
I have this rifle in FDE with magpul furniture. I changed out my pistol grip to a magpul rubberized grip, Radian raptor ambi charging handle in FDE.Added a FDE dust cover from strike industries and made the safety ambidextrous also in FDE and a Magpul bipod in FDE. It’s paired with a 1-6x24 LPVO. It’s an awesome piece of machinery. Very very accurate. I get a lot of compliments on the looks and when people shoot it.
Nice rifle, and good review. It seems the vast majority are very pleased with this series from SA. It's been said that SA focused on putting quality where it counts, without being gimmicky. It's also interesting to note, this is SA's entry into the AR market too...IIRC. Enjoy, and keep us posted.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 All I added up to my SA Saint Victor was a Holosun 512c, an Inforce tac light, a Warhammer charging handle, and a sling. BOOM!
