Crows are considered our forefathers in India and we have a ritual to feed them when a family member passes away. If a crow has eaten the food we have offered, it symbolize that the immortal soul of the dead has accepted our offering and has united with the immortal souls of the innumerable people who have left the mortal remains on earth.
This is such a great movie and the theme of a crow as a sacrificer adds a great dimension to our practice here. It is such a great revelation that stories of such similarity has been in ancient communities and some practices followed as traditions as well.
I actually know of the original story and one thing that bothered me about this interpretation is that one of the Crow's characteristics was left out. Not only did Crow have beautiful feathers and a wonderful voice, but he was also incredibly kind, and didn't hesitate much before accepting the task. Still, I enjoyed this animation of one of my favorite Native American legends.
I understand but a near-perfect character doesn't leave much room for a good character growth story.
@@coyotemoonc3258 the thing is, legends and fairy tales don’t have to follow modern standards. They can have “perfect” characters because they’re meant to be stories that aren’t real. Seeing legends get bent to modern standards kind of ruins the magic.

Perfect pitch is more of an extra skill more than a necessity and him being all drama about losing it 100% adds to his spoiled child character and I love it

This reminds me of the story’s my grandma used to tell me when I was young, she always told us these story’s and told us the moral of them. This was one of many story’s she told me. She told us in Navajo most of the time becuz she didn’t know English well, but I’m so glad people are making these story’s into videos for future generations to enjoy. ❤️❤️

According to our mythology, the crow was the bird who supervise the distribution of brightly colored feathers to other birds. Unluckily ,he distributed all the colors and he was left only with the black feathers. Hence, crows are black.

This is an actually legend that a culture believes in and they wanted to make this so other races could learn and see how native Americans think, I am Native Canadian And I’ve heard many stories on how the earth was created and other legends about life and it’s amazing. So if you said you only came here for the celebrities just know that could be seen from a different way and can hurt the people who have native cultures.

Thank you All for your part in making this story. Just watched with my 5 year old granddaughter and it was Great!! Am 1/3 native American and was great to learn about this. Granddaughter was amazed and is asking questions, which gives me a way to tell her some other stories!! Please , if you can make some others. Blessings to you All.💖

This reminds me of the Legend from my home. It's called "Ibong Adarna" it's a bird with beautiful rainbow feathers and with a beautiful voice. It's a Philippine Legend. 😅

I have a pair of crows that visit for treats on specific days. I guess I’m part of their route. They are beautiful, cautious and funny. I call them Gregory & Peck. I look forward to hear them calling that they’ve arrived and I race outside with peanuts and a couple treats as I wave and shout “Hello!” This Film is beautiful!

I just watched this on my VR headset after finding it for free on the games and it was one of my favorite experience on VR. It makes the story feel so real and right there it makes you feel apart of it and the color just blew me away. Amazing 10/10

There are so many different stories about the genus Corvus all over the world, I think this one may be one of my favorites. Wether they were blackened by a angered Apollo, Messengers of Odin or Companions to the Morrigan they never really star as a self sacrificing hero. Well done!

It was a year ago when I first saw this video. I liked it and I forgot about it as time went by. Today, I found it on my recommendation; I barely recognized its thumbnail. I removed my like from last year and liked it again. I hope this comes back to my recommendation a year later again.
