    Very smooth. Barely dipped below 165 on the heavy transitions. She's steady as a rock. Thanks for sharing, Dan.

      Thanks! I was trying to get to multiball as quickly as possible but kept on taking the wrong shots 😜. I'm glad it came across as skillful.

      I suggest you look to make a similar video as there are lots of confusion in the community. People will appreciate a video where someone actually explains in the video what is going on 😉. I've though been tentative to do a video etc. as I don't understand what everything does.

    If You play on laptop change power plan from balanced to high performance mode, huge fps gain.

    Hey Dan, where exactly do you do these GL and DX changes, nvidia control panel or in VPX itself?
    I'm trying to get some tables to run smooth and you gave me some ideas.
    Thank's for the video.

      Those are the two versions of VPX that you can download from Github. Here is an updated document to get Frame Pacing working well.

      @@PinStratsDan Aaaah, so the GL version stands for that. I was wondering what that GL version meant. Could that be why I have lag on some tables, I should use GL instead of DX?
      Because I tried 250 different settings at least and I can never get Congo, Dr.who, scared stiff and maybe some others smooth no matter what setting.

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@messiahshow the GL version generally has better performance, especially for Frame Pacing i.e. ridiculously low latency. I suggest you go through the Frame Pacing FAQ, and focus specifically on the troubleshooting section if you still have some issues. I don't have any problem tables at this stage. None of the tables you suggest have ever been problem tables for me even before Frame Pacing.

    • @messiahshow
      @messiahshow ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PinStratsDan After months on and off trying to solve my issue I finally did. It was my Kaspersky antivirus causing all issues. Now Scared Stiff, Congo and all the tables run like a dream on high settings. Thank you so much for your help I will definitely look into all those things. I feel like cleaning up my system overall now I have so many installers and clutter all over the place trying to troubleshoot this issue.
      I didn't think Antivirus was such a problem but it was extremely laggy with it on. There is no way around that, I mean to run the AV and play without lag? Like why is there lag because of that in the first place you think?

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@messiahshow I think I mention in the Frame Pacing FAQ troubleshooting section that you need to disable realtime protection as VPX files are seen as suspect and are often "checked". I'm glad you figured it out.

    In my setup with 10.7, using full screen exclusive forced is what allows some pup packs to run without stuttering.

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, that makes sense. Exclusive is recommended for 10.7 but not for 10.8.

      @@Droidsauro I have 6 different VPX version installed - 32 and 64 bit for 10.7, and 10.8 DX and OpenGL. I mostly just use 10.8 DX 64 bit, but easily use another one if need be.

    Thanks for sharing your settings, I'm going to try and mimic for mine. Any idea how to get the mouse cursor to show over the playfield? seems to be hidden so if I need to change something with F1 it makes it difficult. I have a cabinet so not sure if you have this issue on desktop mode. This works fine on VPX 10.7.4 or any previous version

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that is a GL issue. Try and set up with the DX version and then when you play use the GL version. My performance is anyways great with the DX version so it might be great for you too.

      Vsync on gives better fps than frame pacing. Also change power plan to high performance mode.

    My budget TV-FHD build with 2 screens has bad stuttering in newer tables on 64bit 10.8 beta 6 up to release candidate 1 with 1-30fps (die hard / Wick table) 😢 but 64bit 10.8 beta 5 between 48-60fps 🤔 still not perfect but playable on CPU i5 3450 / GTX 970 / 16GB RAM. What specs are needed for Minimum 60fps or is it because VPW/VPX beta status? Did i need a beefy PC for the future? I think it could be a CPU bottleneck but why beta 5 runs so much better? 🙈
    Ohh & thank you 👍 i will check my settings with yours 😉

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure why beta 5 is running better, but you can expect to have issues with the latest VPW tables with your CPU (especially) and GPU combination. I had a slightly better system, but of the same age, and from Blood Machines on I couldn't reach high and steady framerates.

    Was running through this last night. Great table, everything is working fine. The only problem I have is the audio crackling at the end of ball bouncer. I notice everyome has that. Is it the ROM soundfile? Any way of fixing the EOB audio crackle? My table volume is only at 7 so i doubt its "too loud" and all other audio is fine..

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, thank you for sharing your settings. I notice in certain newer tables bij VPW but also demolition man, that is really stutters when a lot of flashers/lighting is going on. Is there a way to disable/change those settings (apart from flexdmd options)?

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a newer Nvidia card use DLDSR x2.25 and turn supersampling and antialiasing off (or much lower).
      Also, take a look at the troubleshooting in this Frame Pacing FAQ.

    Thanks for these settings. Are these still recommended for 60hz playfields?

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, for sure. Frame Pacing is in fact designed to compensate for slower refresh rate monitors i.e. to make the flippers more responsive.

    Thank you for taking the time to do this. I'm on a dual monitor cabinet with LGC2 as playfield and GPU is GTX3070ti. I have 10.7 running smooth at 120hz but my old settings don't translate very well to 10.8. I've been trying a bunch of different things but still haven't got it right yet, hopefully between the beta and final release I'll get it sorted. I'll try these settings and see if they help. As far as the DSR factors will those still apply for 4K 3840x2160? Are there any guides or sites discussing 10.8 settings? I cant seem to find much on it. I hope there will be some tutorials once 10.8 is out of beta. Thanks!

    • @PinStratsDan
      @PinStratsDan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe DSR will still have an advantage, but I'm not sure. Try my settings (video and description) and see how they work for you. They are based on input from the Frame Pacing developer. A FAQ will come out in the next few days.

      @PinStratsDan thanks for the settings but they didn't help ball stutter I'm having in 10.8 when i use frame pacing. Only way I can get things solid is Vsync and locking 120hz in max.
