@@hillbillyfarms3714 The fault finder can get confusing, especially if you are dealing with multiple faults and your fence is interconnected such that you may have electricity coming from 2 directions. One of my favourite farm hacks is to plug my fencer into a wifi smart plug (worth about $15). The smart plug can be controlled by an app on my phone. When I am looking for faults, or need to do a quick repair, I turn off the fence, repair and then turn the fence back on all standing right beside the fence. Obviously you need cell coverage in your field, but it has saved me countless shocks and is very quick. I also have the plug on a timer so if I forget to turn on the fence after I maintain something, it turns back on at 11PM.

When I was a kid we had one of those weed cutter fencers and you are right they were mean hot. I've found birds perched on the barbed wire with their beaks on the hot wire with a bug in their mouth. Every time the current would hit the dead bird it's feathers would stand on end. It did keep the fence weed free though. If you can find them, those old glass insulators work well on corners and ends. Thanks for the video Pete. Good day.

Solved most of my fencing issues when i switched to a New Zealand type fencer a few years back. Did have some problems 4 or 5 years ago so I got a 120 mile fencer instad od the 50 mile fencer i had. That did the trick, the calves don't even sneak under the fence anymore to get to better grass. As a side note my fence is terribly weedy and even brushy some places. But it still works good. I feel for you, when the fence don't work right it is a constant worry.

    Loved the retro intro!
My dad used to use his hands to find leaks. When the static in the radio got unbearable at grandma's, he'd go out and walk around grabbing the line as he went. When it quit zapping him (which hardly made him flinch) he'd clean or replace the insulator.
It was like he was immune to it. 😎
He loved to get us kids or our aunts and uncles to hold hands and walk around the back yard. He's invariably at some point each over and grab the fence. The lady one in the chain would let out a good yelp and realize they knew better... Again! 😆
Of course this was back in the late sixties, before the "mess your britches zappers" were out there, but they weren't something to pee on either!

One of your best videos yet, love the opening and the troubleshooting. Your ears are the best tool for finding ground outs. The loops on those electronet fences that you use for the turkey's getting pushed down and grounding out on the post seems to be a common ailment, pretty much the only thing I look for on mine any more when the voltage drops.

Poultry netting is my bane, and blessing. It is practically impossible to have one that isn’t an enormous drain. Once I disconnected it from the pig fencing, and connected the net to a dedicated solar energizer, at least the pig fence is properly energized. The poultry netting, maybe not so much. But, in large part, the chickens are staying in and predators out. Once I re-clip their wings, (or butcher the one hen that gets out everyday) it should be good to go.
I truly enjoy your videos. Your attitude, joyful spirit, humor and kind nature are refreshing. Combine those attributes with tour easy-going teaching technique, we learn something practical in every video.
I have sincere, heartfelt praise and gratitude for your efforts. Thank you

Good find Pete, best feeling in the world finding them faults. The $110 meter had a lovely clear screen & I was able to follow the whole diagnosis process. The starwars intro was a lovely touch.
