    Probably gonna have to make a patch for that floor. If you hit it with the welder, you are just going to have a bigger hole! The old truck is amazingly solid, I doubt you would find one around here like that. Keep up the great work Cody!

      I’m afraid to say it, but I think you’re right. The more I picked away at it the more holes appeared, so I guess I’m gonna learn how to weld this week🤣. I gotta say though I’m very thankful that it’s in this good of shape (age considering). I’ve seen what that Midwest road salt does to these trucks, and makes my rust problem not seem so bad at the end of the day. That’s for watching Jason! Hope you have a good week😀👍!

    Good start on the project mate u should be right spot welding that hole. Fish oil is great for rust u can spray in to places u can't get to and it just eats in to the rust and stops it. Can be painted over to. Good luck.

      @ydocproductions5593  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks😀. Ya I’m hoping the metal isn’t too weak to weld. It’s gonna be a bummer if I have to patch it in. I’ve never heard of fish oil to protect metal before🤔. That’s really interesting especially if it can be painted over. I think I’ll give it a try😀👍!

    the interior of that truck is in really great shape overall! Its amazing how the lumbar always seems to work in these old OBS trucks lol, i love it. Your floor mats look exactly like mine in the 92, gotta love the old heel print tears in the floor board. I actually have a very similar rust hole from someone using self tapper screws for something. I'm exactly like you Cody, i dont know how to weld so ive been dreading messing with it for fear of messing it up worse. Project is coming along great brother! looking forward to the next video!

      For being 27 years old I’d agree that it’s in fairly decent shape. It’s funny that of all the things jacked up with this truck the lumbar works perfectly...🤷🏼‍♂️....Go figure😂. On the down side I have no clue how to fix that rip in the floor, so I’ll have to get creative on that one. I’m actually looking forward to welding something in. Even if it looks awe full no one’s ever gonna see it anyways. If I try to weld a patch in, and end up catching the truck on fire you can learn from my mistakes when it comes time to tackle the rust in your truck🤣. Thanks for the support as always James! Hope everything’s goin well!😀👍

    Thanks for posting this. I've got a 1992 F150 2wd Custom that I plan on painting the floor black with Duplicolor plastic paint. Those shifter bolts are a pain!

  • @drivedb7

    Sorry to see all that rust! I say this as someone who's never welded before, but I would think that floor pans would be a good place to "get your feet wet" with welding. They don't have to look pretty, no one's really going to see them, and they'll be covered up with carpet/vinyl anyway. As long as the patch panel is in place and sealed-up right..... good to go in my book.
    The old gal needs some love, but I think it's certainly doable!

    • @ydocproductions5593
      @ydocproductions5593  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I couldn’t agree more! Of all the places that need to be welded this is probably the best spot to learn. Even if its the ugliest weld ever no one will ever see it anyways. It’s gonna be one heck of a learning curve🤣! Thanks for watching man👍!

    That shifter bolt threw me for a loop the first time I messed with one as well. I got a kick out of the solo seat removal, there’s no smooth way to do it lol.

    • @ydocproductions5593
      @ydocproductions5593  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was pretty frustrating trying to take that thing off, but it’s actually a pretty brilliant way to keep the shifter in place. What I didn’t show on camera was that my GoPro SD card had an error right when I took the seat out, so I had to put it back in the truck and rip it out a second time🤣!

    Great video as always Cody! 😀 You made *my* back hurt just by watching you lift that bench seat by yourself! 🤣😬. Better watch it buddy lol. The interior teardown went smooth. There are a lot of great welding videos on here that will help out. Thats the beauty of TH-cam 🙂👍 too bad you're not closer, I'd love to give you a few pointers. Im no expert neither. Practice makes perfect though buddy! I can't wait for the next episode! Take care and be safe ❤🔧

It would’ve been awesome if you were closer cause I’ve seen your work on that dodge crew cab frame, and those welds looks like a million bucks. Maybe I’ll just ship the truck out to you for the weekend🤣. You’re 100% right though there are some fantastic how to vids on this exact problem I have, so I’m optimistic I’ll get it done without too much hassle. Thanks for watching man take care😀🤙!
