I went to my camera store to buy the 28mm. I walked out with the 28mm, a z8 and traded my Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 for the Nikon version. There were some great deals going on at the time. Nikon has camera and lenses on sale. The store had a bundle deal which included the z8 and the 24-70mm. Nikon was paying the sales tax that day only. And I'm in a fb group the store has so I got another 5% off. I was planning on buying the camera in a couple of months anyway and eventually swapping my 24-70mm. I had the money saved up so I couldn't turn the deal down. I saved over $1000.

From a photography standpoint it feels like Nikon needs to make more Z glass with wide apertures and good IQ. Opening up the lens mount is good, and last-generation F-mount glass is also still stellar IQ-wise when used with an FTZ, but the comparatively small range of Z glass available now makes the system feel a bit underdeveloped even if the bodies are getting very, very good.
For primes, I think a 16mm wide-aperture prime (I don't know whether they'd also be able to go with 1.2 for that like their others), and a 1.2 35mm would be what I would want to see. For zooms, coming from Sony, I feel like the wideangle and short telephoto zooms have limited focal length ranges. It'd be nice to be able to zoom to 35mm on the wideangle zoom without having to switch the the 28-75mm, etc. Also, power zooms would be cool for cine people, although I don't know whether Nikon intends to more seriously appeal to that admittedly narrow, but typically willing to spend, demographic.

With huge plinth of material to cover the non light gathering front of the lens between the actual lens and the side of the unit. I had the Canon 40 and the Fuji 27. Both f2.8. Both very cheap.
