This line always sticks with me, even though its an old metaphor. Everything about this song conveys the beautiful danger of fairy-folk in such simple and classically poetic ways. Even though the song sounds like a love ballad, you get a lingering sense of dread about Thomases journey throughout.
Would you happen to plan to do a Scots version of this song? I know it's not always the easiest to do, but I find it works really well for poetry and song.
