I owned one of these tanks in the early 80s. Left the road in a snowstorm and rolled several times...still amazes me that not one piece of glass was damaged and after a bit of bodywork drove it for another 2 yrs before the frame rotted out. Great car...it could do 0 - 60 in 4 minutes flat 😊
This thing will be 10% original at most if he ever reaches a roadworthy result. NOT satisfying to watch a car get cleaned when you thought it'd be restored :(
In 1986 I bought a 1971 142 for $250 for commuting to work in downtown Atlanta. Once I replaced that goofy SU carb with a Weber, my urban tank ran like a sewing machine, and in all the years since then, I've yet to own any vehicle with bucket seats that comfortable.
I saved a Mercedes W123 6 years ago that had been sitting in a field for 9 years. The brakes were stuck of course just like in this video. I removed every wheel and fixed the stuck brakes first, then pulling the vehicle out of the field was no big deal anymore 😉
I had a 1969 144 wagon nice car rebuilt the engine went good then it broke in half from rust, Then bought a 1971 Pontiac wagon with a 455 V8 nice car very fast and big but it got 19 MPG better than the Volvo
I use a product called 'bleeding wheels', this may have been a similar product used here. You spray it on, leave it for a couple mins untill the bleeding effect appears, then wash off. Fantastic stuff. 👌
Enjoying all you videos...great also to just hear the work noises and not incessant talking..🤫👍 I have a question though... all these cars featured are left hand drive and I thought that in Sweden you used to drive on the left so therefore right-hand drive vehicles... Could someone explain 🤔 🙂
Thank you!😊 Yes, all are left-steered, before 1967 it was left traffic in sweden. So when the Cars before that was new, they where driven from the wrong side.
Watched this and really want to see more. Did you manage to get the engine running and if so did you record that process. Would love to see this car go through all the stages until it is finally put back on the road.
Sorry to bother you but What I understand the blue beetle is also rescued and on the way to be back on the road but unfortunately it’s not the same guy that saved the Volvo that owns the beetle.
02:40 trying to pull a car that the wheel is hitting a wall of earth wont work because is not pulling the car straight line is pulling the car diagonal, he just had to 1. Pull the car straightforward or 2. Lower the earth mound
This old Volvo hasn't been touched since August of 1985. Wonderful to see it being loved again,
I love this old 145.. Reliable and tough.. Real cars with no electronics. I hope you fix it up.. Thanks for the video.

It breaks my heart to see old cool cars like this, once upon a time they were the newest of the new and ran like a dream. Good job restoring!
Looks awesome! Im currently restoring a 68' 145s that I pulled from a field.
I always liked these. Were once quite popular here in Canada, and even assembled here for awhile. The rust bug found them quite tasty...
Put fresh petrol in, polish, ready to go
Good job cleaning up this wagon. But it feels like only the beginning.

My daily driver is a '69 145. In my opinion the 140 Series are the best cars Volvo ever built.
i havent finished the video yet, but it would be great to have seen this running on the road with all the moss on it lmao
[6.03] 😊You bring history to life with every barn find. Keep up the amazing work!
This is hands down the best barn find I’ve seen. 4: 51 Incredible job!

Now you have to clean the area underneath and around the car 🙂
What a transformation! Hopefully you get it running and driving again!
Så coolt! Det verkar finnas många unika gömmor i Sverige.
Gratulation!!!
Beautiful Volvo ✨👌🥂
Awesome. Many thanks

Amazing!! Nice work!
Nice job ! 👍
Had one here in Australia,🇦🇺 twin Dellortos, bigger valve injected head, and injection cam shaft, went pretty hard
Looks like like my old 145, but mine ruates from the top down, and the cargo area windows had an opening section.
The Master. Respect.
I love how every vehicle in the video is a volvo
Sista bra Volvon
Nice videos man looking great
satisfying transformation haha...

floor is probably long gone.
super bra video:) mye arbeid med rust jobb

I only know a couple of Swedish words. I can use this one for your video and recovery: grattis!
Thank you. Or tack!

I love those. It looked like it was bleeding. I have never seen it before.

Glorious!
These 145 were very reliable, good cars - with shitty awful carburettors.
Ska du renovera denna Volvo?
You've upgraded it to yard art status.
Only some weight reduction, speedholes, ankle vents - it does need some doing up I guess. But definitely worth saving. Very little plastic on these.

This good piece will eat up a lot of repair sheet metal.
Part 2? 🥹
To think I was only a small kid when this car was made…
Hoppas du får igång den här gamla kulturskatten!!

What the heck is the purple stuff that is leaking out after being sprayed with cleaner?
Rust, its a chemical that dissolves the rust.
Kör med Grumme tvättsåpa! Bättre för miljön!!
Inte lika effektivt.😉
Snygg bil 🤩
Lol, well done 😂 Looks brilliant. One way to waste soap and water anyway...
Restauré ancienne Volvo
I hope water didn't find its way inside. When they sit like that, its guaranteed the floors are rusted out from the inside.
Den har ju inga innerskärmar!
Very satisfying to watch. Thank you. What chemicals did you use please?
Thank you, I used www.gordetmedrw.se chemicals
Blir det mer videos om denna?? :)
Mycket bra som vanligt
Poor ole girl. Sad to see them this far gone. It will be great parts though! Whats the SUV you have there? Xc60?
Yes, XC60

No Merch??? I’d love a couple stickers for your channel. Wouldn’t take much through a supplier and you’d make a few extra dollars.
Thanks for the idea! I will look into that. :)
Really, give it a rest and sit it back out to where it can be wild and free.
It is pointless cleaning an old car like that if you not going to restore it.
What about inside?.
Now cars have 78 microphones and 22 cameras and connected to 5G network 24/7 :)
Nice wash, but still a junk, the " heavy" work is yet to come, let' s see the final result!

This car looks like the Ford Belina, I don't know if they just used another name to this car where I live.
