Droll is an old hand trap. It was one of those cards that would get better over time which makes it really format dependent. That being said I never liked any single card that can end the opponent's turn (that isn't Neko Mane King) especially if I was on the receiving end. (Dimensional Shifter for example as I play Dark Worlds). Which really makes me wish Called By was at 2.

I hate getting Drolled but like it existing. Mostly cuz I play Dark World and, while I can almost always win if Droll isn't dropped on me, I'll gladly take Droll existing so my deck doesn't end up having every card at 0-1. Cuz odds are most of the Dark Worlds and Dangers would get limited or banned without it. Do wish there was a downside to it though (like maybe not being allowed to deal damage or not being allowed extra deck access for one turn) for being a full turn skipper card. But it's a card that has to exist to keep certain decks (both meta and rogue), such as Dark World, in check.
droll should at minimum restrict the user from playing the exact same type of deck that would have lost to droll, it feels very unfair facing down a wombo combo board with droll in their hand too, where as something like shifter is equally powerful at stopping turns but you can't setup a massive board under your own shifter, even in the decks that natively play under it.
honestly the reason why droll sometimes is better than ash is the fact you can run them both and even if ash is negated you can still manage to droll lock someone and you win since u baited his stuff

I feel these cards are needed to have balance in the game. I made a video about board breaker format or hand trap format and I said on there, some decks can main both, some can only play board breakers and some can only play hand traps. Cards like droll, ash, nib, etc helps rogue decks be able to compete with top tier decks.
Balance the game? Ash is somehow ok, nibiru is ok, both are cards that let you play. Droll doesn't let you play on your turn, it shuts down a full mechanic (lingering floodgate). If you don't draw the out and your deck mechanic relies on adding some cards to even set a board you lose.

It's sucks if you get caught lacking, but I wish players had our approach of "If a card ruins you, find a counter for it!" When Mystic Mine terrorized the gamestate, every players first knee jerk reaction wasn't to play more outs or backrow hate cards, it was to just have the card outright banned! Pussified logic. It's great to see you as a true duelist find a better solution to your issue rather than bih and moan that this one card out of 15,000 cards needs to be removed so you can play YGO.

There whole lot that goes in yugioh analysts, not everyone playing droll, they play ash, or other counter. You can’t just be picky with a deck either and hope to win. Cause the monsters have different power so ur favorite cards ain’t gonna mean shit when face with monster of different scale of power.

I dislike bird in this sense: Against turn 1 player, it's fine. Turn 1 player's options become more limited but can still establish a board. However, it's again Turn 2 player and beyond where I have issue. If my opponent sets up a modern board and then hits me with the damn bird as Turn 2, unless I have the perfect hand with the absolute perfect counters, I'm just dead in the water. That's why I hate bird.

Games are back and forth only 1-2 combo decks lose to straight up droll and they have been making cards to get around hand trap restrictions. Not every deck plays hand traps let alone droll and lock bird 😂

I play Mannadium and before that pendulum magicians, if you play a deck that loses to 1 handtrap that’s on you and how you play. Maybe you shouldn’t search 2-3 times a turn and expect your opponent to just let it happen. Real back and forth game play as the boomers say.

Floodgates shouldnt exist in handtrap form. Droll and lock, maxx C, dimension shifter, ect shouldnt even exist IMO.

Thanks. Yugioh cards are printed everyday and we have no control over that. But we can adapt to the games and make the best of it.
