Live translate has been available in lens for years! I'm sure it's better on the Pixel 6 with the tensor cores, but I've used it for years on my Pixel 4 (and I think even on my Pixel 3 before that). Just got the 6 Pro last night, so I'll have to compare them before I send back my Pixel 4.

Got mine yesterday, the battery is nowhere near as bad as most reviews said it would be. I got 7.5hrs SOT with fairly heavy tasks (lot of camera and photo editing).
Overall I'm very happy with it. Camera is amazing!
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 that's always the case. That's why I do my own testing. I just look to see what features a device have and operates. I have the 6 pro with a finon carbon case. It will start to get warm but nothing usual. But I noticed that it will just cool off.
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 agreed, the battery seems plenty for me. (Certainly way better than my Nokia 9 ever was.) I'm hoping the adaptive charging keeps it that way for a few years.
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 the battery will only get better as the phone learns how you use it and optimise itself according to it
@@sarthakjain1824 yeah exactly, not to mention android 12 is draining battery to begin with, so that should be patched up soon in a software update.

Hey mate, noticed that very fancy watch band. What do you have strapped to your wrist?
Loving the P6P so far, it has a pump finger print sensor, but this can be improved by increasing the screen touch sensitivity. I've had no issues with the Battery at all, easily lasting a full day and beyond, all in all, very very pleased!

@@amitdash10 Not for me, easily getting 7 hours with heavy TH-cam and web browsing, bizarre how people are having different experiences
@@amitdash10 With adaptive brightness, adaptive connectivity, and dark mode turned on i was able to get over 10 hours of SOT at 80%. I was waiting forever for the phone to die so i could recalibrate the battery, but it just kept going and going.

that camera translate feature has been available on the google translate app since like 2016
on your video 2:13, how do you show the digital time on the top left screen? Mine just shows big digital clock in the middle of the big screen. I want to get rid of that.
The live translate can also be used on other phones using google lens app.
6:35 Does anyone know why on my google keyboard, after I click the microphone, I cant see this rainbow theme but just arrow like it was on the older Pixels?

I have the pixel 6 pro stormy black 512gb here in New York. Had it since the 28th of October.
Issues:
Wireless charging doesn't seem to work too well. It only charges momentarily in my car and then it stops charging. It's not because of the camera bump either, it just randomly stops charging.
I noticed there were dead pixels (black pixels? On the left side of the phone around where the bottom volume button is but on the left (the volume buttons are on the right for context). It was there for a day and hasn't come back since.
The selfie camera is garbage and looks so blurry in anything less than ideal light. The post processing doesn't do any good as it just over sharpens the image.
Sometime the screen isn't responsive. I have to swipe a few times or click something a few times (and I have advanced sensitivity for display on as well).
Fingerprint scanner is garbage and it's the worse part about this phone. I understand all the issues I'm having are software related and Google will most likely have them patched before Christmas, however, the fingerprint scanner is horrible. It takes well over a second sometimes to scan my finger, even when it's in perfect conditions.
You can't change the icon of your apps to an icon pack of any sort. You were able to do this in the Android 12 beta but for some reason they removed this feature on a phone that's supposedly "made for me".
I had an issue where the screen locked itself at 60hz even when I was at 70% battery and had any type of battery saver off. I turned on the hz display in developer options to confirm it was 60hz. I even turned off battery optimization to see if that would fix it. Eventually, I had to turn off and back on the phone again. This obviously isn't ideal and it hasn't happened since, but again, just listing the issues I've had so far
I listed a lot of negatives here, but the positives outweigh the negatives. I just want people to know the bad since everyone is really talking about the good. I still wouldn't return the phone as it's way more enjoyable to use than my s21 ultra and I actually prefer my pixel in almost every situation. If you guys have any questions, lmk. I have no issue sharing with people and responding
Good point, I find the selfie camera a bit prone to blurriness, too. And I am suspicious about the wireless charging in my car, but I hadn't figured out what was wrong. I'll see if that's what it is.

I completely agree with you! But thankfully all of these issues are software related and not hardware. The pixel 6 pro is just an update away from being perfect so I am hoping google updates it quickly. I switched from a Samsung galaxy z fold 3 and am really enjoying using this phone and reaaallllyyy don't want to switch to another phone now.
@@RobFisherUK yeah I've heard people say it was the camera bump that was preventing it but that's not the case since my wireless charger in my mom's car isn't effected by the camera bump. It doesn't work in any wireless charger that I've tested it with for long. It charges for maybe 10 minutes and then it stops
@@rbasi25 I agree. I feel in just 3 months, this phone will be completely different than what it is now. But currently, I can only speak for the issues I've witnessed. Google is pretty good with updates and I know they're aware of these issues. I'm excited to see the improvements in video capabilities as well. If they ever get fixed, I'll remember to check back here and update my comment just in case.
Fingerprint scanner you won't get fixed. All other brands with optical under display FP scanner use the same Goodix (except Samsung which uses Qualcomm), so the one second speed is the same.
Same speed for OnePlus, same speed for Xiaomi etc.
So there's a shortcut to bring the display down to be easier to reach but people still say the phone is too big?

Would like to see a Pixel 6 Vs Pixel 5 comparison... I was tempted by the 6 until I saw how big and heavy it was, so got a grade A Pixel 5 on eBay last week for £300...I think it is an interesting comparison with Google now stopping selling the 5 and I can see the 5 being very popular on the second hand market, best form factor for many.

How well does it run Genshin Impact on the Pixel 6 Pro at max settings with 60 FPS? Are there a lot of FPS loss or does it run smoothly?
Update: I had the Pixel 6 Pro for over a month now and it runs Genshin pretty smoothly, but that's only when the device isn't hot (35°C+). I recommend staying in a cool place or having a fan running right beside you when you plan on playing for a long time.

I see that such early throttling is unnecessary the record stands at 90 degree Celsius and u use a good safety case to avoid touching it directly. 😡 Any general CPU can run until a 140 -- 150 degree Celsius so they call it safety measures for the less experienced people, but if you root it's all unleashed
I have a semi related question. When running genshin on the pixel 6 the on board speakers has a static like pop sounds. TH-cam and twitch doesn't seem to have that issue. Genshin to a Bluetooth headphones also have no issues. Just when I'm trying it directly on device. Did your pixel 6 or pixel 6 pro experience this?
I get stuttering sounds after playing for a while but it's an update thing I heard from multiple people

thanks for a few of those tips, which i hadn't discovered yet. Have you or anyone had any luck with screen protectors and the fingerprint sensor, as I've heard in most case it doesn't work if you apply one? I did stumble across "increase touch sensitivity" in the setting for use with screen protectors, not sure if that applies to the fingerprint sensor as well?
I got a temper glass screen protector, I put it on as soon as I received my phone. Set up finger print reader with it on, added 3 thumb prints and turned on the touch sensitivity and it works perfectly

I really like this phone. But I cannot understand why I cannot remove the search bar and the notification widget from the main screen. Really annoying.
Workaround would be to install a different launcher.
Crazy how "Material You" is supposed to give us more creative control, but yet Google won't let us change those simple things (installing another launcher isn't a good enough excuse for me)

I recently made the change and am happy I did.
I went from a note 20 to a p6p and the only thing I miss is a pro mode on the camera as I did use that.

@@RobFisherUK It's slowly rolling out here in the UK. Look through XDA to see the latest. I had mine setup and working on the Pixel 5 whilst on the BETA program and have it working on P6Pro.
I wish I could find a decent screen protector for my 6 pro. There's basically nothing decent in the UK yet!!!

I've been test driving a 4 XL and 12 pretty much made it lose its will to live 😂 Plus there are so many aspects to 12 that you can NOT change, calling it "the most personal OS ever" can only be done tongue in cheek. At any rate the new G phones and new A OS may be the new Android but just aren't Pixel-y. I've heard many say they should have renamed the new Pixels. Not that they're inherently evil or anything, just not really that Pixel-y. (to me and I've owned many Pixels)
@@janmiller1850 exactly what I thought. I have a strong feeling that these are Samsung designed phones and Google was responsible for software development. Google collaborated with Samsung for a reason and even though design is quite good, it doesn't look like a Pixel phone anymore, it looks more like a Galaxy phone
@@janmiller1850 same happened to my pixel as soon I updated it felt like it lost 50% of its cpu power. Everything feels sooo slow. I know what you mean by it not feeling like a pixel. And I've been use Google phones since nexus 6p and that pixel feeling have never changed until android 12. Yes they should have changed the name since they have started using their own soc. Like a fresh start.

I don't know what's going on but my battery is draining really fast. Battery says 25% to Bluetooth (nothing paired) and 15% to mobile data standby (developer always on option turned off and data turned off too) and 15% standby drain overnight

I bought my 6 Pro based on you reviews and I like it, however, the fingerprint only works 1 or 2 times out of 10 which is shocking... Battery life is actually very good but it takes 2 hours + to charge; nothing to do about it. Many moons ago I absolutely loved my huawei mate 10 pro and since then I struggle to fall in love with any phone I own, that's the truth... :/
Why are the internet and wifi toggles together??? Seriously if it's not broken, don't fix it! Same with brightness, now you need to swipe twice to access it!

Anyone who has a Pixel 4a 4a 5G or 5 and have not updated them to Android 12 yet. DON'T! Android 12 drains the battery even with the special Battery Savings Setting activated. I have to charge my Pixel 4a 5G TWICE a day by not even using it more than before.
