Elder Arsenie - On Suffering

- Elder Arsenie talks about humbleness, sacrifice and suffering. Spiritual son of Elder Cleopa, (born on August 13th, 1914), in prison on and off for over 12 years between 1938 and 1964, one of the greatest Romanian Elders of our days.
Wow, the wisdom of the Elder really blew me away, especially his reminder that love, true love, is sacrificial, a dying to self, an emptying out of selfish and self-centered desires. And his use of the miracle of the storm at sea and the fear of the apostles resonates very deeply with me. How often I seek the kingdom and the crown, but flee the cross. Thanks for posting. What a great man!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us sinners!
"We get to know ourselves so that we can overcome ourselves, which is the greatest triumph."
Most clarifying. Wisdom.
Our Blessed Father Arsenie has gone to the Lord ! REJOICE my brothers, rejoice for our dear father, for he has finally found reward for his many, many sufferings and persecutions in the name of Christ ! May his gentle soul find rest in the arms of the Lord whom he loved more than life itself. Amen !

Beautiful words. Thank you for translating this!
Blessed you were, among the blessed and happy ones, Father Arsenie! 😇⛪😇🌹Pray for us, sinners, to the Almighty Father in the highest skies, Ameen! We shall never forget your delicate, profound and enthusiastic being, Father Arsenie! As well as your teachings and divine example!😇⛪😇🌹🌹🌹👏🙏🙏
Words of extraordinary value! Especially in today's society
In the last 20 seconds of the movie, Elder Arsenie is saying "We don't have to roam the Earth to find special people and special situations, we have to find ourselves!" (it was a problem with translation)
Love love love ♥

Thank you so much for this video, it has helped me a lot and changed my perspective on suffering and sacrifice🙏☦
Pray to the Lord for us Elder Arsenie! That we may rise to meet every challenge and trial and bring glory to Him in our sufferings, and that we may endure to the end heroically! Amen!
indeed some of the best words I've heard. Its very interesting to see this type of viewpoint presented this way. God bless him and you for sharing! Glory to Christ!
Many thanks for your kind words, I'll forward it to the team.

wow
That which does not kill us makes us stronger so we must suffer each of us in our own way according to God's wish, for without it we cannot become all that we where meant to be as did Jesus as he died for us.
nice clip. interesting

At 2.16' -2.17' , there is A BIG MISTAKE in the translation of a crucial passage. Apostle Paul really says: _ Sufferings of this time (in the sense of time for repentance), are almonst nothing, compared to the GLORY which is to be revealed to us (in Heaven) - ΟΥΚ ΑΞΙΑ ΤΑ ΠΑΘΗΜΑΤΑ ΤΟΥ ΝΥΝ ΚΑΙΡΟΥ, ΠΡΟΣ ΤΗΝ ΜΕΛΛΟΥΣΑ ΗΜΙΝ ΑΠΟΚΑΛΥΦΘΗΝΑΙ ΔΟΞΑΝ !
God is uncreated. Man is created in God's image, after God's likeness:
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"
Hence created god. No heresy...
hi there can i ask where you got these videos from? im just wondering for my conscience. Thank you!
Romania,Techirghiol monastery,died in 2011.
@gnawaserge

@cozanostraful
Dragul meu, dar limba asta romana cu ce ti-a gresit?
True. May God grant us his strength, patience and wisdom for the difficult times that seem to be upon us.

thank you. this means a lot to me! a sinner. love from Ethiopian Orthodox Christian.
BEZA Gebremedhine your Church is blessed, it is still untouched by modernism and its procession of illusions.
Socotri Blessed? Schism and rejection of Ecumenical councils aren't a blessing.
Kongarol leave theology to theologian, we, commoners have only the prayer of the heart to discern truth form error. We judge a tree by its fruits and the Ethiopian church still produces saints.
Socotri This is not theology, these are the basics of the Unity of the Church
@Babd By Orientals I mean the Non Calcedonian communities
Through suffering and humility to greatness in God's eyes.
passing through the eye of the needle of this Orthodoxy
Just mention me in your prayers so I can make more available :-)

Lord, if You will, please help Ioan Cassian make more videos from the Holy Fathers to help us Christians and for Your glory. Amen.
It's interesting how i searched videos about the beat generation and Alexander Trocchi and ended up in Videos about emerits and mystics. God bless the wisdom of this personalitys and everyone who made this videos possible for the internet.
If there be a true way that leads to the Everlasting Kingdom, it is most certainly that of suffering, patiently endured...

thanks
thank you for the great words of god
Great lesson of love for God! Amen

Since you seem decided to keep spamming my channel with quotes from wikipedia, I'm forced to remove your postings. Next step will be to ban you altogether.
@maxavail
Ai dreptate, din pacate ca s-o corectez trebuie sa sterg filmul si apoi sa-l reincarc... Asa ca-l las asa. Multumesc oricum,

All the stuff the second monk said though semed highly inspired by man and not by the Holy spirit
How so?
