I wonder why Baseball memorabilia is worth so much, yet the sport itself isn't as popular as other sports.
Its the sport with the most history in America. It was the #1 sport for a very long time.
Baseball has been around since the 1800’s and was extremely popular in the early 1900’s. Football didn’t become popular until the 1970’s and Basketball didn’t become mainstream until the late 1980’s. Baseball has nearly a century of history on the other sports in terms of meaningful memorabilia.

My local team in soccer I managed to get 3 pieces of our history - our captains cup final shirt - match worn boots from the cup final and a game worn from our history setting season - now its not a big club like Barcelona or super stars but for our club its special - I plan on keeping it as long as I am alive and its to be given to the club to display and be kept for generations to see the history - its like today when I see kits from the 1950s shirts from the 80s etc match worn you think that will be my shirt in 30-50 years- just neat- could only imagine how epic these owners feel -
