Apex is recognized as being one of the most intact turn-of-the-century railroad towns. It got its name from its location: being the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad. The slogan for the tow was “the peak of good living.”
It's only a 20-minute drive from downtown Raleigh, but you will refreshingly feel a world away here in Apex.
